I RENTED A SERVER and went through the process. And it said server will start next round ect.... But when I am looking at "my rented servers" it shows my server with two big brackets and it says "[NOT STARTED]" the join server icon at bottom is not white, it's dark faded away so it won't let me join. What do I do? Help please.
I switched my server to TDM for the night, and then back to cinquest. But now it wont allow more than 20 players. my map rotation has all 24 max player maps.

no they stop the rental server for xbox one because of some bug that happen. i think by tomorrow or thursday they will re release the rental server store again

I rented a 30 day server to host hardcore 24/7 maps in metro and locker since there hardly any of them... Need help with my server i keep saving the setting i want and it says it will take effect its been 3 days of me messing with settings and no effect im on ~ps4~ psn- skolener request me if you want to help its my first server ever
As a side note, many Battlefield gamers like myself do not use quick match very much unless you play by yourself, I mostly use the server browser and Battlelog server browser and I would guess even more people will do the same now that rental servers are available. I always have Battleog up on my iPad or PC while I play Battlefield. That way people can look at servers PRIOR to joining, which I highly recommend anyway :-)
Julian stephenson Simply go into "my rental server", then "manage players"... then you can simply scroll down your list of friends on the right and once you select a friend... you can select "admin", "ban", VIP, or whatever you want to assign to that friend. Hope that helps.

***** First you cannot be in game obviously. You go into the "rental Server' menu and then click on your server, then server setup... then scroll to the current map rotation... at the bottom you will see the options at the bottom of your screen to either "manage map rotation" or "create new map rotation" or something like that... and you can begin to select maps from whatever DLC and game modes you like to populate your server. Hope this helps.

Yes. You can rent a server and select any maps or a single map and adjust the tickets and any server option. It’s been years since I’ve rented one so difficult to describe how.
Great question about transferring servers to different platforms. I don't know the answer, but I would hope if you speak with an EA rep, that they would transfer the remaining time onto a server on your new PS4 platform. If you haven't, go to help.EA.com and make sure you request a CALL BACK, not just a chat session. Live reps have more permissions than the chat reps do!
have to fill server with 64 plaers? if i start with conqest 64 nobody came and if i start with T. deatmath and then change to conqest always 44 plaers can you help?
+Jurajke I actually cannot tell what you are asking. It seems you have a server of your own and you want to play 64 player CQ. The best way is to keep it on normal, official, CQ Large, CQ Classics. They will have the best chance of fillingo, but of course if your server is empty, it takes at least 4 people to start it up and begin filling with auto populating.

Ghost 865 no on these older server programs you could not remove or restrict any particular weapon or class. You could only post the rules you wanted for that server and hope people read and abide by that
TOP QUESTIONS & ANSWERS: Q: HOW DO I INCREASE TICKET % ON MY SERVER? A: go to "server setup" and then go to the "preset" which is usually Normal or Hardcore... click on "manage presets" with "X" and as you scroll down you will see near the bottom the setting called "Tickets in %". 100 = the Norm. You can increase the server up to 400% or 4 times the normal ticket count. So the end result will depend on how many tickets were on any particular game mode or map originally. If the tickets were normally 100 tickets for example, then the max tickets on that map and game mode would be 400 tickets. Q: HOW CAN I KEEP MY SERVER POPULATED? A: Filling a server can be easy or difficult based on a few factors. #1 Is it on "official" or "ranked". If it's ranked you will have a VERY difficult time. I ALWAYS recommend starting a server on "official" and Classic Rush or Classic Conquest so it populates from "Quick Match" and populates quickly. You must have a minimum of 4 to start the server. If it is "ranked", it will solely rely on populating from people searching and using the "server browser". Since I am with a clan, there are usually a squad or two squads of us, so it's easy to start a server and get it filled on Official. If you game by yourself and don't consistently have other friends to start it up with you, it will be VERY difficult and may be a waste of money Q: HOW DO I KICK/REMOVE SOMEONE FROM MY RENTAL SERVER? A: If your server is set to "official", than you cannot kick or move people while gaming on your server, however you can still exit the server and to go to >Manage Server >Manage Players select "Banned from server" and add any gamer ID to ban and it will ban them immediately. Only when the server is "ranked", will you have your full admin privileges to kick and move folks while in game on your server playing. A: Yes, you can still change and select the maps you want to play next by also going into >Server Settings >Map Rotation and select from any maps currently set on that server to play next. +Wesley Wood from my experience, you cannot keep switching it back and forth. When i tried or at least for me... the server stopped responding after too many requests. I think the answer if to put the server back to an official setting on classic maps. if the server stops responding to any changes, you have to either contact EA to restart the server or wait for the server to empty out...
How can you make people follow the rules like I've seen servers saying no killing cause your trying to finish an assignment, once someone kills some other player even when the rules are said no killing, they get kicked automatically or instantly.. It's cause I'm trying to do a bolt action server only and I don't want people to use any other class but recon.. Cause obviously it's only bolt action server only...
twofairy Unfortunately there is not any way to make people follow server rules. Many don't pay attention and read the rules. I recommend putting the rules in 3 places maximize the visibility of the rules. 1-Server title 2-server description and 3-server message. You can obviously only kick people and monitor the server activity and kick when people are not going according to the rules, but of course that takes away from your personal gameplay as you police the server. There is no way to "automatically" kick someone when they do not follow a set rule. I wish..lol
London Griggs You can type pretty much any text in the server description. Exceptions are words like profanity and it will tell you if you cannot use a word for that reason.
Same here. I chatted with an EA representative yesterday afternoon when i discovered the same thing. As stated on Battlelog, they are having issues with many PS4 servers as well as the Xbox One, so your option to manage or rent a server will be temporarily be gone until they resolve the issue. They have no clue how long. This is frustrating and they understand and they will compensate you server time if you contact them once it's over and back again. Go to www.help.ea.com
You didn't show "MANAGE MAP ROTATION" (MULTIPLAYER > MY RENTED SERVERS / SERVERS WITH ADMIN RIGHTS ONLY > MANAGE SERVER > MANAGE PRESET > MAP ROTATION > MANAGE MAP ROTATION), which is a menu onto itself.
***** I was wondering if you could help me or anyone else who reads this. When I go to official servers, I see people with maps like Operation Locker 24/7, Zavod 311 24/7, Metro 24/7 etc. How do you get the maps YOU want on an official server without it forcing you to use all maps. Unfortunately not. You have to visit help.ea.com and request a chat session or call back. Do the call back if you have the time. A live rep is worth it.
This is what happened to me, I used quick match and browse severs,but there were absolutely none,has this game gotten old? I also don't have the feature my rental servers.
That's just a server browser issue. I have that once in a while and have to reset my server browser. It happens to me most on the PS4 console. i NEVER have that issue using my PC on Battlelog and using the server browser there. Unless you were looking for a DLC or game mode that's not played much any more
+XxDman10311xX When you mix game modes, you will restrict all of them to the game mode with least players. Example. If you put a TDM which holds up to 20... and a Conquest Large that holds 64 and a Rush server which holds 32, you have now restricted ALL of those to 20 players maximum. it will actually tell you this information when you begin to mix the modes. it will say "maximum player count 20!" when editing the server rotation.
Mine wont let me change anything past 7:58... it might just be a bug or something but its pretty lame. i waited a few hours and checked it and it still hasn't worked. xD thanks for the Tut. video though it definitely helped me figure out whats wrong.

Ok I have two problems, I bought a server a couple of hours ago because me and my friends wanted to play in a lobby by our selves but when I was trying to rent a server it only let me choose from either Asia or Australia but I do not live in either of those areas and the game lags because of it I live in the East part of the US the other problem that I have is that whenever I choose to have a private server and I set up the password everything is fine until I try to join the server and I type the password in, every time I do that it says that I have typed the wrong password instead of choosing the private option can I choose the rank option and then add a password would the server turn private then and my problem resolved?
As far as a country not being available to select... i would assume no servers are available in those countries. That's the only thing i can think of. As far as problem 2... if i recall the answer is no. You cannot have a ranked server and put a password to keep others out. I recall trying that on BF3 servers and people still were able to join with no password. Unless things have changed.
Then how do I fix problem #2? I cannot choose the private option because whenever I do and I set up the password and then I retype it to join the server it saids that I have entered a wrong password and I need to type it again is that problem only in my system?
I definitely recommend talking to a live representative with EA. Go to www.help.ea.com >Help with a game >BF4 >PS4 > and start a new complaint, but BE SURE when given the option to be helped with a chat session or a phone call back... SELECT A PHONE CALL BACK! It's definitely worth waiting for a live representative!
Yes, I briefly mentioned it. There is a part called "manage players" and basically you can select from your friends list and do one of a couple things... Make them an admin, add to VIP list, etc.
Bryar Slayer No, unofortunately not. However... if you put it on Ranked and only have 4 of you on a server, that should work pretty good. ranked servers with only a few people will have a hard time filling, so you should have fair privacy
+darius300bc PLAYA4LIFG No sir, you can not filter/remove any weapons or gadgets from a BF4 server. You can only try to advertise on the server title, server description what you want people to follow with a warning they will be kicked if they do not follow those guidelines.
so if ur not from any of those selected countries your practically screwed with lag. how do I play on Battlefields actual servers and not on rented servers

Is there a way you can invite your friends and have them on the opposite team and do just a private match? I know when I join a friend, if his team is full it will put me on the other team but as soon as a opening opens up it will auto. transfer me over to his squad once the match is over.
There is a setting that is causing that to happen. Whether in game or in the BF4 menu, go to "OPTIONS" > GAMEPLAY then almost all the way to the bottom there is a setting called "SQUAD WITH JOINING FRIEND". What that does is anytime a friend joins on you, it will attempt to put you in the same squad as a friend joining. If you have room in your squad, great... it puts them in your squad. If you do not have room in your squad, it may pull you out of your squad to make a new squad automatically and even mark your squad "private", which is dumb. Also, at times it may stack a squad and make the squad bigger than 5. I have had where we had up to 9 people in a squad because of this, which was awesome. So this can be a great feature, but annoying at times also. I recommend keeping it on if you game with friends. As far as making a server "private" and having a match of your own? Sure, you can do that and controll who is on each side... and move people from one side to the other. Hope this helps.
Bradley, there are a lot of variables on what can fill or be hurdles to having an "active" server. I have even had my server on "official" new Dragons Teeth maps and it can sit empty

Wait a minute your user name does look familiar . Do you still have BF4 servers up and running even to this very day cause I believe I’ve seen and even played on a server with your name and the boss title on the server
same as on PS4... while in game click >Options >Server Settings >Manage Players >simply scroll down the score board to move, kick, ban anyone... HOWEVER you can NOT do this while your server is set on "Official"... you can only move map rotation while on Official.

Unfortunately EA/Dice are messing up like Channel 9 and having server issues all over the place. You are not the only one. I have the same issue. i cannot move, kick, ban... I get the same 'person has left the server" response. I have been chatting with EA representives every other day for hours and my issue has been "escalated" and an EA rep is supposed to be doing an "investigation" on my issues...really?? On top of all of this.. you saw i purchased a 90 server for $60... now my server says "expired" after one week!! Yup... true. EA has got to get this under control FAST!

Alex Backer, once you enter your server and go to "server setup"... and scroll down to whatever current map rotation is listed, at the bottom you will see the options to create a new or manage a current map rotation. There you can manage or create whatever maps and game modes you wish. Hope this helps.
+Scott Tuck you actually cannot "renew" a server until it runs out and is expired. Odd i know, but once it does it will offer the option to renew. I have never seen the option to renew prior to expiration. Hope that helps

ok, so to answer your questions: 1. yes, you can put maps from any or all DLC or regular maps together and mix it up , but NOT as long as it's an "official" server. 2. even if you are playing "official" maps on your server and have no administrative rights, you can still change map rotation during a game and decide what map you play next

what is the point of renting a server if it is empty all the time With an Official Server you can't really create your own map rotations

A: If your server is set to "official", than you cannot kick or move people while gaming on your server, however you can still exit the server and to go to >Manage Server >Manage Players select "Banned from server" and add any gamer ID to ban and it will ban them immediately. Only when the server is "ranked", will you have your full admin privileges to kick and move folks while in game on your server playing.

A: Yes, you can still change and select the maps you want to play next by also going into >Server Settings >Map Rotation and select from any maps currently set on that server to play next. You can be the DJ of maps and control which map is played next

+Wesley Wood from my experience, you cannot keep switching it back and forth. When i tried or at least for me... the server stopped responding after too many requests. I think the answer if to put the server back to an official setting on classic maps. if the server stops responding to any changes, you have to either contact EA to restart the server or wait for the server to empty out...

How can you make people follow the rules like I've seen servers saying no killing cause your trying to finish an assignment, once someone kills some other player even when the rules are said no killing, they get kicked automatically or instantly..

twofairy Unfortunately there is not any way to make people follow server rules. Many don't pay attention and read the rules. I recommend putting the rules in 3 places maximize the visibility of the rules. 1-Server title 2-server description and 3-server message. You can obviously only kick people and monitor the server activity and kick when people are not going according to the rules, but of course that takes away from your personal gameplay as you police the server. There is no way to "automatically" kick someone when they do not follow a set rule. I wish..lol

London Griggs You can type pretty much any text in the server description. Exceptions are words like profanity and it will tell you if you cannot use a word for that reason.

Same here. I chatted with an EA representative yesterday afternoon when i discovered the same thing. As stated on Battlelog, they are having issues with many PS4 servers as well as the Xbox One, so your option to manage or rent a server will be temporarily be gone until they resolve the issue. They have no clue how long. This is frustrating and they understand and they will compensate you server time if you contact them once it's over and back again. Go to www.help.ea.com
You didn't show "MANAGE MAP ROTATION" (MULTIPLAYER > MY RENTED SERVERS / SERVERS WITH ADMIN RIGHTS ONLY > MANAGE SERVER > MANAGE PRESET > MAP ROTATION > MANAGE MAP ROTATION), which is a menu onto itself.

That's just a server browser issue. I have that once in a while and have to reset my server browser. It happens to me most on the PS4 console. i NEVER have that issue using my PC on Battlelog and using the server browser there. Unless you were looking for a DLC or game mode that's not played much any more

+XxDman10311xX When you mix game modes, you will restrict all of them to the game mode with least players. Example. If you put a TDM which holds up to 20... and a Conquest Large that holds 64 and a Rush server which holds 32, you have now restricted ALL of those to 20 players maximum. it will actually tell you this information when you begin to mix the modes. it will say "maximum player count 20!" when editing the server rotation.

Ok I have two problems, I bought a server a couple of hours ago because me and my friends wanted to play in a lobby by our selves but when I was trying to rent a server it only let me choose from either Asia or Australia but I do not live in either of those areas and the game lags because of it I live in the East part of the US the other problem that I have is that whenever I choose to have a private server and I set up the password everything is fine until I try to join the server and I type the password in, every time I do that it says that I have typed the wrong password instead of choosing the private option can I choose the rank option and then add a password would the server turn private then and my problem resolved?
As far as a country not being available to select... i would assume no servers are available in those countries. That's the only thing i can think of. As far as problem 2... if i recall the answer is no. You cannot have a ranked server and put a password to keep others out. I recall trying that on BF3 servers and people still were able to join with no password. Unless things have changed.
Then how do I fix problem #2? I cannot choose the private option because whenever I do and I set up the password and then I retype it to join the server it saids that I have entered a wrong password and I need to type it again is that problem only in my system?
I definitely recommend talking to a live representative with EA. Go to www.help.ea.com >Help with a game >BF4 >PS4 > and start a new complaint, but BE SURE when given the option to be helped with a chat session or a phone call back... SELECT A PHONE CALL BACK! It's definitely worth waiting for a live representative!

Yes, I briefly mentioned it. There is a part called "manage players" and basically you can select from your friends list and do one of a couple things... Make them an admin, add to VIP list, etc.

Bryar Slayer No, unofortunately not. However... if you put it on Ranked and only have 4 of you on a server, that should work pretty good. ranked servers with only a few people will have a hard time filling, so you should have fair privacy

Is there a way you can invite your friends and have them on the opposite team and do just a private match? I know when I join a friend, if his team is full it will put me on the other team but as soon as a opening opens up it will auto. transfer me over to his squad once the match is over.
There is a setting that is causing that to happen. Whether in game or in the BF4 menu, go to "OPTIONS" > GAMEPLAY then almost all the way to the bottom there is a setting called "SQUAD WITH JOINING FRIEND". What that does is anytime a friend joins on you, it will attempt to put you in the same squad as a friend joining. If you have room in your squad, great... it puts them in your squad. If you do not have room in your squad, it may pull you out of your squad to make a new squad automatically and even mark your squad "private", which is dumb. Also, at times it may stack a squad and make the squad bigger than 5. I have had where we had up to 9 people in a squad because of this, which was awesome. So this can be a great feature, but annoying at times also. I recommend keeping it on if you game with friends.
As far as making a server "private" and having a match of your own? Sure, you can do that and controll who is on each side... and move people from one side to the other.

Bradley, there are a lot of variables on what can fill or be hurdles to having an "active" server. I have even had my server on "official" new Dragons Teeth maps and it can sit empty

same as on PS4... while in game click >Options >Server Settings >Manage Players >simply scroll down the score board to move, kick, ban anyone... HOWEVER you can NOT do this while your server is set on "Official"... you can only move map rotation while on Official.

Unfortunately EA/Dice are messing up like Channel 9 and having server issues all over the place. You are not the only one. I have the same issue. i cannot move, kick, ban... I get the same 'person has left the server" response. I have been chatting with EA representives every other day for hours and my issue has been "escalated" and an EA rep is supposed to be doing an "investigation" on my issues...really?? On top of all of this.. you saw i purchased a 90 server for $60... now my server says "expired" after one week!! Yup... true. EA has got to get this under control FAST!

How you create your own map rotation?
Alex Backer, once you enter your server and go to "server setup"... and scroll down to whatever current map rotation is listed, at the bottom you will see the options to create a new or manage a current map rotation. There you can manage or create whatever maps and game modes you wish. Hope this helps.

ok, so to answer your questions: 1. yes, you can put maps from any or all DLC or regular maps together and mix it up , but NOT as long as it's an "official" server. 2. even if you are playing "official" maps on your server and have no administrative rights, you can still change map rotation during a game and decide what map you play next

Any tips on how to get other players to join a recently created server? Filling a server can be easy or difficult based on a few factors. #1 Is it on "official" or "ranked". If it's ranked you will have a VERY difficult time. I ALWAYS recommend starting a server on "official" so it populates from "Quick Match". If it is "ranked", it will solely rely on populating from people searching and using the "server browser". Also, whether it's on "Official" or ranked, you have to have 4 people minimum to start it up.
