Yes! I've been caught by the weather before. I'm all dressed with the bag I want to wear and then step out to find rain and have to turn around and get another bag. lol
It's rains so much where I live now and it's so unpredictable that I have ot be extra careful which bag I choose. Or take a folding bag with me in case I have to cover it in a pinch.
I must have and I mean literally have at least 1000 handbags. I am obsessed……and I love this channel . My choice of a handbag is always my first priority each day!
"Is that even possible?" was my favorite quote from this video. Great topic Autumn. I also ask myself how hands free I need to be. Generally speaking I'm happy with a top handle, but there are certain places and activities (grocery store, dancing, etc.) where I know that I want to be able to be hands free and will need a cross body bag.
A lot of people seemed to get a kick out of that line. Totally off the cuff. I'm a genius. Places and activities were covered under the "what's the occasion?" section of my video. Keep up, Jill. 🤣
You provide so much helpful information in all your vlogs Autumn! It’s so obvious that you have given a considerable amount of thought into the subject matter. For me, I tend to like it when my gold hardware bags match my gold jewelry and vice versa for the silver hardware bags with my white gold or silver jewelry. I also like it when my SLG’s match the bag if the day. The weather is always a concern too. I tend to wear my black Celine 16 when I’m dressed a little nicer and I wear my Loewe Puzzle bag when I’m dressed more casually, for example. Thanks for another great and informative vlog!
That's one of my things, too...I like my jewelry and bag metals to match. It drives me a little crazy when they don't. I love the puzzle bag and have had it on my mind for years now. I never considered that it's weatherproof (big plus!). I just love the design.
Weather and activity for the day - that determines what I am carrying that day. Example: if I’m going to work, I have work friendly bags for that. If I’m running errands with my kiddo, it’s a Kipling nylon bag or uniqlo crescent bag. If the weather is fair and I will have a busy week where I may not switch bags for awhile (work/errands/kid stuff) it’s my PLG toaster/camera bag !
Love your sense of humor. I definitely like to start with the bag and build an outfit around it but often where you’re going or what you’re doing narrows your options.
OMG, this was all so me. I would say that the activity and the time of the year are the biggest influences for me. This coming week it will be my green bags (obviously) but which one will be decided on what I'm doing that day. In the winter I carry a larger bag if the weather is bad so I can throw my gloves, hat, scarf in it as well. Great topic!
For me it’s weather first, once that’s decided the bag is next followed by the outfit and shoes. Jewelry is after the outfit. I’m not one to care if the metal of my bag matches my jewelry it doesn’t matter to me. So that’s that. Great video thank you.
Lol! I have a few bags for work which are functional so never a problem for me. Tons of rain in California so my work bag is one that will withstand the weather. I have a beautiful new Prada bag and haven’t used it yet due to all the rain. Work bags all neutral colors.
Thank you for the ideas this is sometimes a difficult decision to make. This is very helpful “I call it handbag brain fog.” 😅 I personally do shoes first(mainly because of where I’m going matters) secondly I do the outfit to match the shoes (as far as casual, sporty or dressy) thirdly the handbag quest begins which takes longer😮( I do think about the weather that’s important😊) and lastly the jewelry (pearls are my favorite but they don’t go with everything, I always try to incorporate my pandora bracelets which do go with mostly everything) this was fun Thank you Authumn❤
This video was so much fun. I love to start with the bag and build from that point. Although most of my bags can be worn crossbody, I do find myself getting more comfortable with hand carry and shoulder carry. (when did shoulder straps get so short?)
You know, that's a great point. I used to wear shoulder bags all the time and now it's really difficult for me. I gravitate toward my crossbody bags or I top handle. I wonder if that's a trend beyond the two of us?
Embarrassed to say I have never seen that LV bag before. It is gorgeous!! I am usually okay for colour but my first priority is what bag will fit all my crap? If it's a day where I need everything bar the kitchen sink as opposed to an evening where I still need my phone, lip balm, small money, keys (maybe), kleenex etc.
No worries...the Trevi has been discontinued for a while. It is a beautiful bag and you can find them under $1,000 but just know that it's heavy. It always reminds me (and others) of a piece of luggage when i pick it up.
Today well actually this week I’ve carried my LV Palm Springs mini backpack. I chose it because it was going to rain this week off and on and because I hadn’t carried it in a while. So you are correct, we definitely look to those tips when choosing a bag. I normally try to carry my bag for 1 full week so I definitely look at weather, where will I be going etc. of course if I need a dressier bag or backpack I will change accordingly. ❤❤
Today, I am carrying a PLG circle in peacock. I have the nightengale charm attached for interest and to keep my lip balm handy. This is my only PLG, and recently, it has been my default for running around with no particular occasion sort of day. Now, an important question! Which wineries did you visit and did you have tapas, lunch or charcuterie?
Kathy, we went to Natalie's Estate (we're members) and tried Utopia for the first time. Enjoyed both. Natalie's does a lovely charcuterie or small bite board with their tastings. We also had lunch in Dundee at Wooden Heart. It was really nice.
@bluechipstamp Of course! They are so reasonable, I don't mind the risk of weather. It' the perfect bag for shopping the nurseries for bedding plants or whatever errand involving wet dirt. I found a semi-circle, felt organizer on eBay. Game changer!
You liked one of my comments in the PLG Facebook group recently, and I shouted to my bf, "Omg, Autumn Beckman liked my comment!" "Who???" "The 'luxury living on a budget' lady!" "OH! Nice!" He hears me watch your videos all the time 😂
😂 OMG, how funny! Yeah, I'm in those groups a lot. I have a PLG slg haul coming up soon. The last of it just arrived in the mail but I'm considering ordering a few more pieces in the sale today. They've had so many great colors available lately and fun little pieces!
I have no rules, I carry whatever bag I feel like carrying. For the last 2 months I have been carrying My Margaux 10 in brown suede from The Row and it really is the best bad ever! I have never carried a bag this long without switching.........Tammy
There is really only one thing. All my bags are weather proof so I don't have to decide there. So the only decision is either fitting over a big coat or with no big coat. And don't depend on weather people because they are always wrong. I don't carry any luxury bags because everyone is casual. Most my bags are Longchamp or dooney.
I entered Oregon with a lot of bags that aren't weatherproof and I've added more since I've been here. My priority is having bags I love, whether or not I can wear them often. I've noticed there are far fewer people carrying luxury bags up here as compared to Houston but I don't care...I wear what I enjoy.
Yeah. People here don't really care about having stuff. We hate to spend money even if you have it. Daily uniform is Columbia, Nike, Patagonia or The North Face. Sometimes no handbag. Just lots of pockets.

We’re all nuts Autumn! It’s not just you!😂 All great suggestions! Today I carried a large PLG classic tote in cognac.
Nice! I love their totes. I've been waiting for one in Bacalar. I think they had them at one point and I missed it.

Because it is the star. ;)

I love your necklace and ring! Such a beautiful shade of green!
Thank you. :) I got the ring in Texas and the necklace in Santa Fe, NM on our road trip moving to Oregon last year. They're both Native American made.
@@AutumnBeckman oh I knew they were Native American made. My grams used to get jewelry like that all the time when they were wintering in Arizona.
So basically I love them and they always have a sentimental place in my heart

Buy a new bag every week. Problem solved!😂😊

I love your insert of dry humor. Great video.
Thank you. :)
You said "weatherproof", The Lion and I heard "wine proof" 🦁🍷🤣
Well I mean...he isn't wrong.
Autumn your hair looks so good on you at this length! Ok back to the video.

Living in ATL, wearing my monogram LV is always a challenge. It seems like it rains here almost as much as in FL.
Does it? I didn't know that!
I usually pick the bag first as that is often what I choose for the event or day I have planned. Then I plan the clothes and jewelry is last.
That's a great method. :)

Oh no! Well, I'm sure the Prada will have it's day sometime soon with spring on the horizon. ;)
Fabulous video. Loving your Trevi! I stayed home today, so no bag carried anywhere!
That's just sad, Daniel. So sad. From now on you must carry a bag daily throughout your home by order of the Queen of Vlogmas.
