Sarah DTD And that's a very naive and stupid thing to say. Equalizing all of the complex geopolitical processes into "some maniac wanted to blow stuff up and now we're screwed" is dumb. "You wanted war you have war" is a paper thin commentary on politics.
I've heard political albums that dwelled quite deeply into Orwell and political satire (Like "The Animal Farm") and connected it with texts of modern philosophers and psychologists about the state of human culture. I've also heard concept albums that treated the Rhodesian Bush War as a case study of European colonialism and post-colonial culture. That's a good, interesting way of writing music about politics.
Writing lyrics in the vein of "You take peace and spit it out as war now you're gonna' regret it" is not interesting.

To here the news is probably one of saddest things I've heard all year. I never knew that Tom actually had cancer and thought the band cancelled their U.S. tour because Tom had family issues. Founding out about this yesterday made me shamefully regret that I stopped listening to Architects a few months ago. I was even more shocked to find out he was only 28 years old which makes me feel worse that someone at that age had to go through a terrible disease that no one wants in their life ever. He fought desperately to make it while still trying to perform shows for the fans. Tom is what inspired me to start playing guitar and I'm glad that I did start. Because of this tragedy, I will make sure to buy their latest album (maybe all of them) and will pay for concert tickets to see them the first chance I get. My thoughts and condolences go out to Sam, Alex, Adam, Dan, his family, the fans and any former Architects members. R.I.P. Tom Searle. You will be greatly missed.

As a vocalist, I cannot stress enough how incredible Sam Carter is. This chorus. This sound. You can't replicate this. I applaud you, sir.
He's very monotonous as a vocalist when it comes to screaming
I agree that for some people Sam's vocals might lack variety at times but you have to give him massive props for what he does have in his locker. His tone is instantly recognizable and his vocals overall are incredibly powerful. It sounds like he has a nuclear reactor in his throat.

His tone is from a parallel universe dude... If ANYONE could replicate what Sam does even fractionally - I don't think they'd ever stray far from it either, it's simply unprecedented. And for what need would he need to? Since when does having more than a couple tone variations mean anything? I applaud those who do it and pull it off but for the MAJORITY of vocalists who try to do too much tone shifting they sound like pure shit and it's usually completely unnecessary. I never really got into this band but now I understand what I've been missing out on this band. they're awesome and also RIP Tom you guys are all awesome and definitely will be hearing more of this band in the future.
Unfortunately Tom was the main songwriter for the band, so you might not hear too much of them in the future besides the touring they're gonna do for their latest album. After that, who knows. At least you still have their last album LF/LT to listen to. It's amazing, in my top 10 all time for sure.

Meaning of the song : It's about how Isis and groups like that that are currently terrorizing us and mostly the innocent people that happen to live in that warzone are all the product of America's ignorance. Many wars that were really just covers behind their real purpose of getting oil. Also by reacting to such groups by Bombing places and killing more innocents you're planting the seeds for those innocents to have a reason to join one of those groups. It's a vicious cycle that won't end. There's also a underlying message that it's all just a laid out plan and that all of this is done on purpose.
This is what i'm getting from it. Don't be hostile. If you think i'm wrong, correct me. Let's have a discussion. We can all benefit from that. Sonically the song follows what they did on Lost forever//Lost together which is in no way a bad thing. in fact it's quite in your face and heavy. I'm digging it.

I really enjoy the lyrics that Architects write.
Cant believe Tom is gone. Never got to meet him or even see him play live but his loss has really hit home more than I ever would have expected. He revolutionised the music we all love. A huge influence on me and my band. His legacy and positive message will live on through all of these timeless albums.

Man in 2005-2006 I found this band and have never stopped listening to them since. I just want to take the time to say thank you to Architects for continuing to put out amazing music after all these years and also I want to say a huge Thank you to Tom Searle for writing such amazing music that has stood the test of time and that has meant so much to me and got me through rough times in my life. I love you Architects and I'm so sorry you guys had to lose such an amazing person at a young age to fucking cancer man. Tom is looking down on you guys with a big smile across his face on how proud he is of you guys for the album Holy Hell being so amazing 😍

they said that this would be their darkest and heaviest album so far, and im so ready for it! in a scene where almost all bands go softer and try to go on radios or try to reach to a broader audience, they're just doing what they want. love it
I like this song a lot, but I don't believe they'll ever be able to top Hollow Crown in terms of heaviness. That album is fucking brutal, man. Disgustingly pissed.
+M4RCi92 haha true. Honestly though, all their albums have been very different. Not necessarily in terms of heaviness, but really different. Tones, tuning, vocals, etc. But this song to me could fit on their last album. So idk how different this album will be, but I'm sure it'll kiss teeth
