I used to have a 1987 4x4 S10 Blazer with a 4.3 v6 . It was fun but drank gas bad . Something went wrong with the engine and I traded it off. I miss it , it had tons of power until it broke down.
If you ever come back to TH-cam, the Tahoe part is the package. If I'm not mistaken, it means it has the tow package.

Blazer/jimmy depends on some different things but the Tahoe on the glovebox means the trim level like the Chevy had with the c/k models, custom deluxe, Scottsdale, and top of the line Silverado so it would be the lowest base model, Tahoe,sport, Baja (off-road 4x4)
Tahoe is a trim level for 80's model s10's and s10 blazers. Tahoe was the 2nd highest trim level you could get on s10 blazers. Tahoe wasn't a vehicle until 1995.
Fun fact: my buddy bought this after this guy sold it, my buddy bought that blazer of the guy this guy sold it to, he is now LS swapping it

ALSO, A 3.4L Engine from a Camaro is a direct swap for the 2.8L just so you know, You can pull the 2.8L out, Drop a 3.4L in and use the Intake Manifold & Carb off the 2.8L on the 3.4L engine.... Just figured I'd let you know that too....
You can also swap a 350sbc into it

Tahoe was a trim package back then. Durango was another trim, there were 1 or 2 more as well i think
I'd love to have this thing, I need a Lift Kit for my 1984 S10 Blazer, I was going to just buy one of the Rough Country 2.5" Lift Kits for it, But I've heard people say that those kits are junk and not worth buying, So IDK what I'm going to do now bc NO ONE else makes a Lift Kit for these Blazers sadly, Also, Mine is a 2.8L/Auto as well, But mine has only 44,000 Original Miles on it tho and runs really good, BUTTTT I just bought a 1993 S10 4X4, 4.3L/5 Speed Truck that I'm going to use as a donor truck and I'm going to pull the 2.8L/Auto out of my blazer and put the 4.3/5 Speed in it, It's going to be a fun build (Well Rebuild, Seeing how I just spent almost 2 years rebuilding it LoL).... engine needs some help. otherwise the truck is a little bulletproof reliable trail master (i have a 91 4.3L 4x4, LOVE IT)

I actually love these blazers. I currently have 3 second gen Blazers and owned a jimmy for a short time.
I would at the very least put a LS3 in it and a NV3500 and maybe put a couple of Dana 60’s in it and turn it into a daily off road driver

Yo I'm working on a 93 it kinda seems to me like the timing is off on yours... mine was the same way! It had poor idle, rich fuel smell, it lopes or "cammes" but has poor and sluggish throttle response. I would start with a simple tune up. Cap/rotor, plugs/wires/coil and a timing adjustment. Cause mine will ROAST the tires like butter now! And new fuel filter probably wouldn't hurt either
