I first heard Bill on Marc Johnson's Bass Desires and was an instant fan. When I heard The Rambler (ECM version) I became fascinated by the scope of Bill's music. Where In The World stayed in my player for 5 years. I once said Bill is my fave guitarist while replying to a Steve Martin tweet. Got a like from Steve. Says a lot...
I LOVE Bill Frisell, but he always sounds like a college student who has just smoked pot. I mean his words are so insightful but his delivery is so Woah Dude...
@@hoagyguitarmichael Thanks for the reply. I'm definitely NOT dissing Bill Frisell - my fav guitar player of all time. But compare his interview affect to another great, great jazz guitar player who has given quite a few interviews: Pat Metheny. PM always stays strictly on point and sounds like he's just had an espresso shot (in my opinion). Frisell is actually more fun to listen to.
I love Bill so much I just want to hug him everytime I see him on monitor. What a legend.
Love watching interviews with Bill. He's like a shy little kid.

Got to see that band live in a small club. They were amazing. Steve Martin - cool!
I’ve been watching this in little chunks. It’s too rich to consume in one sitting. Beautiful.
Thanks
Agreed, it's what I'm doing too
Great composer / musician / humble guy
This was a great interview. Casual but insightful. :) Thanks for putting this together, Michael! All the best, P
Fantaaaaaaastic talk, thanks so much for sharing!!
Much needed. Thanks for this.
thank you, fantastic interview
Thanks
Fantastic - thanks!
fantastic and inspiring.
At times I'm having difficulty hearing the hosts voice that is more quiet in the mix than Bill. Just subscribed and thanks for your efforts!
There are technical issues - I may repost
Thank you for this!!
Great interview!
thank you for this!
Good one. Thank you!
Great to see but the balance of audio is waay off. I can't hear the interviewer at all sometimes.
Thanks for the feedback. It is off a bit but if you turn up the voice to hear me, I don't think Bill is too loud. Early technical difficulties Sorry
@@hoagyguitarmichael Great interview all the same thanks again
haha yeah the little epistrophy trap! Milt Jckson maybe didn't hear it and Monk just didn't care at the recording session. We got it now :-) 25:38

I prefer to think that, unlike so many, myself included, he thinks carefully before he speaks.

And, of course, thanks so much for the interview.
Bill and Pat are very different players, expressions of unique personalities. Let us appreciate their contribution however it is heard.
Boring interview !
