Well I grew up in Florida, have listened to Tom and the Heartbreakers since their beginnings, I'm also a (signed to a record label) singer, songwriter, music producer and know music pretty well. I only say this because I have a very trained ear. However, I think Mikes vocal is 'so close' to emulating Tom's vocal essence that I feel no one needs an ounce of ear training to hear the similarities in a MAJOR way. I'm not the only one,. many out on the internet agree with what Im saying.
I think Mike Campbell sings like Mike Campbell. No imitation . For me he is his own master of vocals and he sounds like a major vocalist who could of had his own band and we wouldn’t even be comparing him to T.P.
