This song is supposed to be a love song, but actually my mom often sings Eres to me and my little sister. Then it gets a whole different meaning.
Eres is originally for a child. Meme del Real (author) wrote it for his daughter.

En realidad es una letra oculta, el mensaje es primero cuando le hablas a Cristo (Dios), y en la segunda parte Cristo te habla y te dice: yo soy tu sustento el que estoy esperando por ti en mi trono hasta el fin de los tiempos, es hermosa esta canción, porque no habla del amor de un hombre o de una mujer, que a lo mucho podría durar 50 años, más bien habla del amor eterno de Dios.

Also, in Spanish, the word "love" ("amo") is only used once in the song (at the end). The other four times "love" was used, it was the Spanish word "quiero/quiere/quererte" (variants of "querer" which can mean "to like" or "to love", but is in no way as deep as "amar", literal translation of "to love"). "Amo" has a much stronger and deeper meaning than "quiero". Just a nice detail that makes the last stanza more powerful.
