    Hi all,
    no matter how powerful this engine is, 120, 125 or 130 bhp...
    the revs and the sound of the exhaust line is magical

    I doubt very much that it has 142bhp at the flywheel, mini miglias don't even produce that much power!......lovely car though.

      Agreed, not a snow balls chance in hell. Swiftune don't even achieve that.

    Probably one of the best Mini's i have seen keeping the original cooper s detailing, keeping original dash with a 45DCOE. External trim is also top notch and true to period, great job and a credit to the owner and his son.

      Is defiantly one of the best ones out there. Attention to detail is bang on.

    A 45 on a swan neck manifold like that is easy worse than a pair of 1 1/2 SU,s . Anyone worth their salt knows that , beautiful looking car though

    • @daranleighton9813
      @daranleighton9813 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s not a swan neck though. A swan neck is a cast alloy manifold that protrudes almost vertically and mounts the carb horizontally. This Mini looks to have a tubular steel manifold which, while short, would perform considerably better than a swan neck.

    • @steveunderhill6570
      @steveunderhill6570 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daranleighton9813 steel iron cast alloy it's a bloody awful design, steel inlets at poor performers going through that tight of a turn it's a swan neck, the clue is in the shape not the material, but hey dont take my word for ask vizard, if you think he doesn't know his stuff you have no place commenting in the first place. Make sure you know what you're on about before trying to be s smartarse

      @@steveunderhill6570 yes, I agree that the swan neck is awful. My point is that this isn’t a swan neck,. It’s just a short runner manifold to allow the retention of the centre speedo. While not optimum for performance, it seems like a fair compromise and isn’t as bad as a swan neck which is a design that takes a 90 degree turn from the cyl head, travels vertically then takes another 90 degree turn to the horizontal.

      If you take the wheel BHP you can not use the same calculations to work out flywheel BHP with straight cut gears as apposed to helical gears. 130-135BHP sounds closer.
