Sky Tavern Bike Park / Could this become Reno’s next future mountain bike park!? It’s ripping fun!

Sky Tavern is a bike park with mountain biking trails in the summertime and a ski resort when it isn’t under snow in the winter season.
After I attended the TAMBA mountain biking festival in Tahoe I was tipped off about checking out this trail system before heading back home. So I decided to stop by and check it out for myself.
Ran into some local shredders who tipped me off on how to get up and find some of these trails I rode today.
The park has much potential and felt really good to ride with flow and rhythm with good technical rocky sections. I was pleasantly surprised by how well built everything was & maybe one day in the future it’ll become a larger cool MTB destination worth while. Time will tell

This is a fun place to ride. This is my back yard. We usually shuttle this from the top and we ride down another trail at the bottom called Robin Hood and ride home.

I feel like over the past like 10 years the rating system for trails have been off, where Green=Blue, Blue=Almost Black. But also the e-bike makes it looks so much faster than it might be outside of TH-cam.

Absolutely! Great for exploring, type 2 workouts where you want to control your heart rate & just for saving the legs and time out riding occasionally

Very Cool, I've never heard of it. I assumed that was the name of the MTB side of it and the ski resort was MT. Rose or something else.

​@@lagwallMt rose is a neighboring, much larger resort a few minutes up the road. Rose is private owned while Sky Tavern is owned by the city.
Sky Tavern only runs on the weekends in the winter for teaching people, mostly kids, to ski and board. Biking is a relatively new thing for ST, and some lessons are provided.
