I was thrown from my honwave t32 in chop when using a 10hp engine at planing speed in an estuary. I saw trouble [sudden deep chop] in the water ahead and dropped the throttle to min [possibly tried to change direction, unsure? if so probably a mistake] but was thrown straight out. Idiotically I didn't have my kill cord attached so ended up swimming slightly desperately after a still moving boat {approached it from the side, I can't remember in retrospect whether I was fully mindful of the very real risk the propeller would have posed}. Slower speed than your painful case here, and I had a dry suit, bouyancy jacket, PLB etc., and quite confident in the water, so I guess I would have been fine, but very abrupt. You're fine. Then you get a second of 'oh wait a minute' but you're already basically a passenger, and the next second you're in the water. Since then I have changed the boat to a longer one with a deeper keel, always use the kill cord, and also have a clip I can use to attach myself to the boat also [apparently in higher winds there can be times a boat floats away faster than you can swim]
@Paul Badenhop I think some ear plugs might be a good idea now I know why the guys racing thundercat boats have helmets on I also have a few questions about your boat what size motor you running and what length is your boat
@@donaldwaltman4365 ironically I had ear plugs on me that day and didn’t put them in. Lessened learned!! The boat is 13’. And I have a Merc 60 with a 15” mid on it. Lower water pickup so I can run the motor higher. I usually run an original Merc 4 blade cleaver 15p. Best I’ve gotten so far is 52MPH. Hopefully I’ll get more out of it this year.
@paulbadenhop7272 I ordered a cheaper version from China its a 11 foot version its rated up too a 25 hp outboard its what I could afford plus I'm just getting into Thundercats and don't have tons of cash too throw out
@@donaldwaltman4365 I do know two guys in Florida that can hook you up with a decent priced Aquarius (what I have) or an Infanta. If your anywhere near Ohio I know where there’s a nice used one like mine with a trailer for $2K I believe.
What actually happened? Looks like you lost your balance which caused you to jolt the tiller and the change of direction threw you in the drink. I have one of these and they corner violently!
No steering dampener. Rough water, which you can’t truly see in the video. Couple of choppy waves and a LOT of feedback in the tiller, pulled the tiller to one side and I went for a painful ride. I now have a really good steering dampener on it.
Good thing you were using the MOB switch.
Yes, it could have been a lot worse

Time to put a steering dampener on there.
I put one on the next weekend lol
Man I hope your ear is ok that was a pretty nasty spill
Took four months before I got all my hearing back in that ear. That hurt. A lot.

Is it seamiles as of knots?
@@harrykreia5371 I’m not sure what you mean?
@@paulbadenhop7272 at sea we use knots = seamile per hr = 1.852 km per hr. Was just wondering if you use us mile per hr?
What is the pitch of the propeller? And how many blades?
3 blade 20p cleaver
