Field LPN hospice nurse M-F 8-5 I schedule my patients based on how I want my day to look, the money is amazing, the autonomy of it. I’ve never worked in LTC. I’m so happy and stress free.
@@janeiw1 can’t WAIT to be a home health/hospice nurse, I’ve been working in patients’ homes at various acuities for about 3 years. I have nine months left in my program and have already started making a list of agencies that bring on new LVNs 😄💕
Hey guys, I just passed my Nclex last Tuesday, 8th October 2024, with a great help from Dr Luther on my first attempt, and all that I got on my test was what he provided me for review. I advise everyone preparing for the nclex to contact him for help and thank me later
I just finished a LTC position. I am so happy I got my RN. I can look at Dialysis, Hospice, Wounds care nursing positions that pay well. I am so tired of LTC. The time spend on falls and looking for things on the unit is insane. All along with the med pass.
I’ve been an LPN for over 20yrs and never thought about going back until now. I’m tired. I do well because I only do agency. Preparing now to start in January. Hey nurse 🐝 ❤
Thank you for this video. Just completed A&P 1. So glad I started. Been administrative assistant 20+years. Ready for a career change. Applying for a ABSN Program.

I did LPN to BSN and still at my current job at a VA home It is a low stress job compared to the nursing homeI I worked in the hospital on the IMC floor as an LPN for low pay but didn’t mind it because I wanted the experience. I did just commit to a Psych NP program starting next year so now I’m looking for a prn job as a psych nurse. My goal is less stress, learning, while making more with less hours.
As an LPN and RN, I only ever worked in long-term care in psych. Every time you talk about your hospital experience, I want to jump in so bad, but I graduate as a psych NP in a few months so I think I’m gonna just stick with what I am already doing.
I’m glad I came across this I’m a new grad LPN working in LTC and I’m already thinking what’s next I can’t do this forever I came from a hospital and want to go back 🤣 I’m going back

I'm in the process of bridging, and I'm worn out... it's a big sacrifice so I needed to see this! I work in rehab hospital and have worked at heart hospital but still limited by the pay. Time to make this even! Thank you!

Now I'm realizing that I need to get my BSN if I want to have more opportunities to get away from bedside. Dang near all of the jobs I see that are case management, management (outside of LTC) and other non-bedside jobs want you to have a BSN.

To be honest though, I was agency. When i tried to remain agency they said I would only get another dollar in LTCs. So i went ER. After my recent raises, it works out to 3 dollars less than agency.

How long do you think you will work the bedside PRN? Ive thought about leaving M-F administrative/office/care coordinator and working every Sat/Sun at the bedside, bc I want to work less and still make decent $. Plus I’m just tired… but bedside comes with its own issues and stressors. My last bedside job was 2016. What are your thoughts?

I was considering doing hospice as a nurse since I did it as a Aide.....did you go into field hospice as a new grad?

4:12 this is the misconception a lot of LPNs have. Yes you can make more money than an RN, but how many hours are you working to make the money

Good luck, I hope you go for it, also have you considered travel nursing? I know FL isn't a high paying state for nurses.
I don’t like nursing that much to even get my RN , I know RNs can teach cause my CNA instructor was RN but I even meet a LPN that was a CPR instructor
Lpn can be a CNA instructor too

Have a job pay for it, some hospitals have partnerships with schools as well and you can get a discount.
@yourfavnurseb9699 giiirl! They be wanting you to sign a contract staying with them for a few years...uuugh
@@msdeshabangbangyes that’s what I’m finding . Jobs want you to give them a year after you graduate and working two jobs isn’t an option for me

Thank you for this video, I like the idea of not having to work so many hours, due to having a large family, yet still having income.
ty for the hydration reminder, i forget all the time on noc shift lol
You right. I’m going to go back. This is the motivation I needed 😊

I recently got my RN and I picked up a PRN job at a nursing home during my shift I was asking myself what am I doing here 😮
Girl! I made more money as an LPN! As soon as i became an RN, I had to take a 5 dollar paycut smh.
LOL It al depends on what you do. There are so many nursing positions one can take.
Look into PRN as a RN or agency as a RN. You have the experience.
@yourfavnurseb9699 girl yes! That's my next step. Im.gonna go into the OR. Getting FIRST ASSIST certification and go PRN on everything
Overtime, you’ll be making more money with experience and certifications and less hours
You probably made more in LTC but you have so many more opportunities with an RN license to make more money.
Thank you for the wise words!!
That's exactly why I choose to go back to school
LPN is too limited for me. Especially in the Northeastern States, RNs get paid 20 dollars + than PNs.

Yea Im thinking about doing The adn program instead of lpn. Seriously not tryna go back to transition

But man you have to totally account for the cost of living.
I'm currently a CNA do you think it's best to skip LPN?
I think it just depends on your goals. Look at the price and time it takes, I also have tons of vids on this topic.
