I always look forward to your videos. I started off as a CNA. I became a lpn in 2009. A RN, adn 2016. BSN in 2018. Just finished my MSN. I just want black nurses and cnas to realize we all fighting the same battle. Nobody is better then the next. I am rooting for you sis in all your endeavors!
I feel people perpetuate the classism in healthcare because at their core, people want to always call out someone else to make themselves feel better about their current situation. It’s petty and lame! Everyone’s situation and motivations in the field are different. My mom was a Tech in healthcare for years, and she always said, “When you talk down to others, it says more about your insecurities than it does their credentials!”
I just feel like people who get into nursing for the right reasons don’t do this type of stuff. When you have a heart of service you’re not focused on comparing your credentials to the next nurse. The issue is so many people do get into it for the wrong reasons: money, clout, respect, climbing up the ranks etc, making it difficult to change the culture.
Simone Bridges I agree with your comment to the fullest! When your in it for the right reasons you don’t have time to get wrapped up in the drama & you don’t compare yourself to the next ! It ain’t no need to do so we are all needed on all levels but I have to honestly say I’ve only experience this from black nurses , cna’s I’ll never understand the saltiness if you are unhappy that much with your position that you have to keep tearing down the next then just further your education period!
I've worked with LPNs that made the comment about new RNs "you're an RN you don't know that".. In my mind I'm thinking "THEY'RE NEW" they won't know that... When I was a new LPN I didn't know some things CNAs knew. When I became an RN and started working at the hospital I didn't know some things the LPNs know... Also probiotic isn't stock at every facility. I work a facility where every medication even tylenol comes in the medication packets... Edit.... I was an LPN for 18 years. That sense of pride I felt when I saw that RN behind my name was on a whole other level... I gave blood sweat and tears for those letters..
Yea, Nurses are definitely MEAN to each other for no REASON. I don’t get it. I have a BSN, but I didn’t make a conscious decision to get it over an associates. I was just always pushed to finish High School and go to 4-year university, so BSN was where I ended. BUT I always tell the other nurses I wish I would’ve saved myself some debt and go get my associates at a community college, and let a hospital pay for my bachelors 😂💯 in Indiana we get paid the same, and do the same (in the hospital setting) and the patients damn sure don’t know any different 😂😂 so WHO CARESSS
I think the lack of respect comes from not going through the levels of nursing. I love and respect all levels of nursing. I was a CNA,LPN,RN-ADN,RN-BSN. True respect comes from doing the work at all levels.
My mom is a LPN she is semi retried. She started nursing in1975. She is supposed to fully retire next year. My mom says if come in to work and do your job correctly eventually you have to put some respect up under your name or demand it. ✊🏾 I’m not a nurse yet I’m working toward it. I should have listened to my parents and did nursing first. Instead doing it now a second career. I’m definitely get my LPN first.
Never experienced such pettiness, and disrespect until I started nursing. And no it’s very rarely the doctors y’all it’s most of the time other nurses and people from other dpts. Some people get a few letters behind their name and think they rule the world. I always remember that it was all God. He gave us the gift, let’s give the glory to him and help each other make it through these nightmare shifts! 😭
I do feel like LPNs are looked down on. I don't want to be a RN and it's hard for people to understand that not all LPNs want to be a RN. I have trained RNs, some BSNs, and in between. I also don't believe all CNAs want to be an LPN or RN. I have had to educate RNs on certain things. I have also learned some things from CNAs. Love your channel.
I just wanted to share that I took my NCLEX RN on Sept 8th and Passed! I wouldn't have made it through nursing school without your videos. Go ahead and start that RN program you've got this. Keep the videos coming, future nurses need you. Thank you 😊
As a current patient I just want nurses to do their jobs and be compassionate and competent to the craft - instead of showing off and peacocking. Patients don’t care about your degrees- we care that you care and know what to do.
Best comment I’ve seen on this channel. I hope she notices this... definitely deserves to be pinned. My mom was a nurse since the 80’s and all I can say is it changes people sometimes for the worse, you’d think that there would be more compassion but many nurses/doctors become so accustomed to seeing trauma, sickness, and even death. Instead of them working as a collective, there will be competition and wars within the medical community which does nothing for the patient. Maybe if the income was limited to a cap of about $40,000-50,000k (figuratively speaking) there would be real people who care about their job but in today’s time there’s a lot of people strictly going into the field for the coin 💰 but there’s some good nurses out here. Praying for your recovery 💕
Helping the algorithm girlie.... My motive to go further is 💰 and opportunity... I can help people as an LPN ADN and BSN.. I could say it's just to learn but I could buy books and read them 😂😂.. I will get more pay with my BSN and MSN.... Also black nurse weren't always allowed to become RNs.. that's why becoming one is something to be proud of for a Black person.
I definitely agree, with you. People are so busy belittling one another. There's enough going on in this toxic crazy world. We really need to uplift one another.
Amen! I’m a CNA and see it even in within our ranks. Fortunately for me I work nights on a float team. Our night team we work as a team especially if we are on the same floors we check in and cover breaks, restroom break, coffee break, if needed. That saves us heart ache. Not every floor we go to works that way and we see a lot of stuff that we don’t condone or put up with (attitude wise). I’m blessed and try to pay it forward always, with kindness, knowledge and attitude.
Nurses don’t respect themselves and other nurses too. We call each other names, no support for one another and gossip wayyy too much instead of working and making the field better for ourselves like doctors do. Nursing in general is a great career field with lots of benefits and opportunities but the experiences you will encounter from working as nurse will most likely not be all pleasant; some people will make it unbearable. This week I officially started on a new floor and the nurses are good and welcoming mostly on this floor however, when I was introduced to the floor, some people were rolling their eyes, even when I say hello, some people not answering, unit secretary also got in on the rolling of eyes, PCT’s bitter and acting weird. Lol sad and sad. But when they introduced this new NP the day after, everyone started bowing down. Moral of the story, if u stay in nursing, get an advance degree. As for me going the business route in a few years.
I agree I started from CNA and currently a BSN and I love all of my experience. It’s just a title because when someone is sick they don’t care what N you are. I decided to get my mastered in management for a spin off from the BS
As an African American nurse, it doesn’t matter what credentials you have, people will always try to demean you, I’ve literally had a man tell me that he didn’t want me to take care of him because I’m black, he would only receive care from a white nurse. The man I’m talking about is black, (smh) the irony right? Being in this field is not for everyone because, you will be tested and your response to each situation is what differentiates you from the subpar nurses in this field.
I think people really need to understand education is a privilege. You having a higher level of education is a privilege, something other people may face a lot more barriers in getting. You still worked hard obviously, but its important to recognize your circumstances.
Always enjoy your perspectives, because I can tell you love nursing and I do too. I feel like a lot of the classism comes from the fact that a lot of ppl get into this careers for the money not cause they love it. So they nit pick and project their misery. Also, women are just catty anyway, that’s why I stay neutral and stay to myself. It’s my goal to go back to my home town and talk to the minority high school students about careers in healthcare. I want to continue my education to one day possibly teach an LPN course along side high school curriculum, so that when students graduate they’ll have gainful employment setting them up well beyond minimum wage.
You are totally spot on Nurse B. I have a degree in Sociology and we talked about classism in the education system. I’m surprised that a nurse with hours of experience can’t get credit towards RN etc because experience really matters. I just don’t understand why with every nursing degree it feels like you have to start all over again. The LPNs with experience will teach the new grad nurses or the nurses that are new to the facility. Nurses are so vital to any healthcare environment. I think the problem is it’s a hierarchy & it affects job performance because when workers are treated poorly they can become complacent which affects the nurse leaders because they are responsible in case the worker makes a mistake.
And yes you are going to be a NP! You don’t know it yet but you are because you already have that mindset. I also see you as an educator. Changing healthcare for the better is also a goal of mine as well. I see a lot of things that I don’t like and I want to do my part to make things better for the workers and the people that are in our care.
Yesss! Congrats I should be staring a bridge program in January as well! I just applied so fingers crossed. We only have a few more months of freedom so enjoy it!!!
YourFavNurseB Indeed! But I’m excited and looking forward to it. Making sure I have this fitness and meal plan routine solid before then. You’ll get it. Success is inevitable for hard workers.
It’s sad to say but I think the mean girl spirit starts in nursing school. I’m in school now and our instructors are MEAN under the guise of I’m hard on you so you can be a better nurse. I’m not saying all schools are this way but when I read nursing boards the consensus seems the same. I understand pushing students for greatness but this is not it. I’m only a month in and I’m already like I’m just here to get this done and I’m OUT. I keep my head down and I remain respectful but it’s crazy.
U are correct. I found myself questioning the teaching because most of the professors were so mean and rude!!!!!....it was all so silly to me. One of my classmates reported this teacher for verbal abuse. Come to find out the teacher was going through cancer and was coming to work everyday to dump her frustrations on the students. She was disciplined. Overall I feel like it’s that competitive nature in females that makes the profession so toxic. From school to the workplace, It’s all bad.
I legit love this video! I’m an LPN doing my prerequisites so I can hopefully get into an LPN-RN transition program and I was planning out my classes this semester and I’m already overwhelmed by the amount of work I have to do. This was a little mental break, but anywho, I’ve experienced either end of the spectrum like this because of the specialty that I’ve worked in. Either I’ve had nurses hate on me because of my potential or I’ve had nurses encourage me when I’m feeling insecure or overwhelmed with life.
There is a classism to nursing. I don't have a nursing degree (in school now) but there is so much pressure to get one....then get another one...and another one. You just have to focus on what you want in your career and not worry about everybody else!
lol So TRUE FACTS!!!! yes because i work as a cna until i take my lpn nclex and they treat me like im dumb and i know more then them... we all together...
This is so real, I have been a stna for 10 years and have witnessed this from other cnas, nurses, management smh. It is sad and lord forbid i tell some of them I'm going to nursing school, bring on the negativity 🙏.
Let me say I love watching your channel and it’s crazy because it doesn’t matter if your a CNA LPN RN BSN MSN OR DR. You are all fighting the same battles and right now RONA is running circles around all y’all!!! BRANDI I have much love for you do your job to the best of your abilities and let GOD do the rest!!!! Blessings to you!!!:))💕💕
Also when I worked in these facilities everything was all good when I was an LPN but the attitudes changed towards me when I graduated. There were some who were genuinely happy and were there asking me questions during the grind. Then there were some who were bitter. I didn't understand that because I worked with them while I was in school. Did they not expect me to graduate. I won't dare tell them I'm going for a higher degree. Anyhoo I don't pay any of it any mind. I'm there for the patients and my coins.
The judgment just doesn’t end at credentials, I’ve also seen different floors going at each other. Like ICU nurses look down on Med-surg Nurses, and med surg nurses look down on clinic nurses. It’s is unfortunately a career full of extremely competitive people that love to think they are better than the next person. It’s disappointing bc I’ve wanted to be a nurse since I was in elementary school, and now I feel like my passion for nursing is crumbling bc of the toxic people that have no business being nursing make it intolerable.
First things first thank you for posting I love all your videos. I'm entering the healthcare field now and I'm really using your videos as a guide on how I want to maneuver. I honestly think it's a culture thing. Based on my observation that title means that you invested in yourself more . In class my instructor said RN BSN MSN we're all R.Ns in the end. However that extra title can go to people's heads.
A good amount of nurses are mean; why they go into the nursing profession, I have no idea. I experienced mean nurses in my early career. Yes, I was treated badly as a novice, but I decided never to treat anyone like how I had been treated. If we all started doing this the culture will change and strong leadership is needed. I also confront nurses who do this to their face. If someone tries, I say excuse me I find this communication offensive believe me it's an automatic shut down. We can't live our lives in fear on the job or anywhere we have to speak up for ourselves. If there is a weak manager in the area it needs to be document and taken to HR.
Love your channel new subscriber. We def need more people with your mindset in healthcare. Im not a nurse but im into holistic health and always wondered why these two arent synonymous. The medical industry def needs a change!
I definitely agree. I see it first hand amongst female nurses to other female nurses. I’m a male in the ADN program and work prn as a student nurse at a hospital. I notice that they are always snapping at each other but almost everyone I meet at work is always nice and trying to help. I already got two job offers by from Nurse Managers that I work with and I don’t graduate until next May and the female student nurses don’t have job offers and say that the other nurses cut them short and act nasty towards them. I don’t know why but, it definitely seems like it’s not so much with the male nurses.
Not only that.....a lot of doctors would sexually harass and even rape nurses back in the day. That was apart of the culture. Doctors are able to get away with a lot of things because of their status and no one wants to speak up and lose their job or status in healthcare. Unfortunately I have had (idk why people feel comfortable telling me their business) several nurses (not sure if it was just the hospital/community) that have shared this with me.
Because I’m a Minority I’m going for BSN to MSN to CRNA. I don’t want to be the norm. Black girls can be absolutely anything. We need more Black BSN Nurses.
LPNs can be really nasty. And I'm sorry the name of the game is education. You can be the most knowledgeable stock boy in the store but your not the store manager period. Even if you can locate the peanut butter and the manager can't. And actually there really isn't a RN versus BSN coming from a NP. And very few hospitals achieve the pipe dream of becoming Magnet Status. Because of the nursing stortage and the shear fact that most nurse's are ADNs. There is no pay difference between an ADN and a BSN making it hard for a nurse making 80 thousand dollars to justify going into debt 50 thousand dollars at a university so that a hospital can have bragging rights. Which is why smart nurses make Universities foot the bill
I’m a LPN and yes we do run into those nurses that “letter chase” and turn down their noses to those they feel are beneath them. It’s sad that some don’t realize that you can learn important lessons from all staff as well as assist with teaching others. No one knows everything or above or below error, we should be learning and sharing something new everyday. I salute all nursing staff because we all play an important part on the “team”.
I've learned that experience overrides ALL. I watched another TH-cam video of a surgeon who admitted that when the heart monitors start to go off, she doesn't know how to turn them off and she has to call in a nurse to do it. WTF, she is a surgeon and can't operate the monitors😧. Lol, experience, experience, experience. Learn & grow from one another, period.
Yes doctors don’t know all. I had a doctor call me because he was in isolation room with a patient and couldn’t change the rate of the med on the IV pump machine . After he came out, he said he deserved some part of my pay cause he helped me. I said sorry sir I don’t owe you anything cause I just taught you how to operate an IV machine. I should get paid...he laugh and walked away.
As a nurse that has been in healthcare for sometime now. I will say this toward the video. As a black Woman I encourage you to go further in your nursing career if it is feasible for you. Also, it’s not the nurse that sets the bar for responsibility, it’s the ANA and Scope of Practice. From a SNF prospective, I’ve been in all levels of nurse management as an ADN but I will tell you this. Everyone has strength and weakness, and complacency does exist in all levels of nurse which makes for poor nursing care and people that can’t teach you anything no matter the title. I could add more but you touch on so valid points and so are your perception and feelings. Keep pushing
Yes, Nurse B! I want to help our community of people who are black/brown in skin or heart. I'm an ADN program now. My goal of helping m community can be attained with a BSN. But I do want to get my Doctorates. If I'm honest with myself Its likely my own insecurities and questioning whether I can attain it.
The nursing culture is indeed trash. It's toxic, stressful, and exhausting! I finished a year of prereqs to find that I don't want Nursing as a career, after all. The expectations are nuts and the hours are crazy. No wonder there's so much burnout, and drug and alcohol abuse among nurses.
Nah oh no! There are some great parts to nursing! But I’m not going to lie it’s all of those thing you mentioned but I love patient care. What have you decided to pursue instead?
@@yourfavnurseb9699 I am the Valet Manager for our local hospital. I make as much or more as many of the nurses in our area, for a LOT less stress, so I'm very happy where I am. Thanks for the reply! Love your spirit. 🌞 💜
SPEEEAAAK! I love your reasoning for furthering your career. I agree and resonate with it. Healthcare definitely needs to change. There are so many other healthier ways of healing and treating patients. I'm in nursing school now. I graduate next year as an RN and so far while in school I have been extremely passionate with everything I'm learning and experiencing the good, the bad, and the ugly.
YES! I'm a CNA. But i have a bachelor's degree from a GREAT private university. But in medicine it doesn't matter. To everyone else i'm a CNA. But the silver lining is that as i move forward and go into nursing school i refuse to be that person to look down on others! I remember what it felt like. Some of my favorite people who are the most hard working at the hospital are housekeepers and i am so happy i got to experience life as a CNA as i move forward! There's always a silver lining! :)
Molly Klein it’s always good to remain humble everyone has something to offer no matter what their title is. Have you considered an accelerated BSN program?
Sad to see. Haven’t experienced it for myself tho. I started as a receptionist, worked as an MA while in nursing school, got ny ADN, then BSN, and now working on my MSN. I think my journey has definitely kept me humble. I did work with an experienced nurse who said she’d rather work with a adn vs BSN because the skill set is better. BSN is all fluff. Lol. The hospital systems are adding to this classism because everyone only wants BSN for magnet status and such. Ny had this whole initiative called BSN in 10 in which they wanted all ny nurses to be BSN.
I believe Healthcare does need to change most definitely people forget about the quality of care that needs to be delivered to sick or elderly adults or children etc. My inspiration to return to school for my RN is to be able to provide a better service for my family members and those outside of my family. I love my position as an lpn but I also want to continue to grow and excel and recieve a higher knowledge and degree so I can be of service to those in need. Also to continue to raise my vibrations by getting more education and skills.
I see it even as an NA. It seems some of the nurses respect my opinion more because I’m graduating with my RN soon versus the CNA who aren’t further their education at this time. But I haven’t seen it from the other side because I only became an NA once I was a nursing student. On the flip side, they expect me to recognize more about patient conditions too or to be more proficient with troubleshooting the pumps or removing IVs and catheters.
If I were u I wouldn't be touching anything until u get your license. U don't want anything holding u back when it's time to take your boards. I would watch but I would not put myself on the line oh I'm a nurse that's why I can tell u this. U will get there in due time don't jump the gun you'll have plenty time to do all that 😉🙂. Congratulations on furthering your education.
Mista P thank you, I totally get what you mean but all the things I mentioned all the CNAs do like remove IVs and catheters as it is part of the job description at my hospital. There are also advanced CNA positions termed Student Nurse Tech that are allowed to do a little more under the supervision of nurses. When I say troubleshoot pumps, I mean find out why they’re beeping and let RN fix it if it’s med issue or have patient adjust their position if it a block on patient side.
Have you purchased insurance? I’m in LPN school now and made sure I have insurance bc you may be working under someone else’s license but you aren’t protected from being sued if something happens.
Your spirit is so awesome! I can hear your passion of wanting to help, teach OUR ppl. You will definitely be a game-changer in healthcare. Keep up that beautiful spirit! ❤❤💪🏾💪🏾
I experience this with my whole family, we’re all entering the m field of nursing. we’re all phlebotomist/pca’s and we’re ALLLLL becoming different kinds of nurses. I’m getting my BSN they continue to rag on me whenever I talk about my school experience, saying “it doesn’t surprise me, you always been bougie” or even trying to make me feel BAD for going straight for my BSN opposed to LVN/LPN. It’s hurtful but I continue to pursue my dreams to HELP people, more specifically my black community ! 💕 #weneedmoreblacknurses
Rose Lillys your absolutely right... but you must acknowledge the facts! And the one incident I’m referring to... she was white. However illiteracy is color blind 🤗
I agree this happens. I dont mean to say this to sound....prissy....or whatever, but here goes....I'm in NM in a metropolitan area and at my organization, on my floor, this doesnt really happen. It even says on our badges what level we are....completely irrelevant. It comes down to whether or not you can hack it. ADN that can hack it does the same job as an MSN that can hack it. I only say this to give hope that not all environments are as petty and cut throat. Love you and your content @yourfavenurseB!
Gurl yes its a lot of petty Betty's I experience this as a CNA they turn there noses up at us and discredit r observations of patients because of the CNA title i even heard one nurse say CNA just wipe ass
What's even worse are nurses who think it's to beneath them to fo aude work. They will spend 10 min looking for an aide to toilet a patient than just doing it themselves.
My dream is to become a midwife. I am staring my nursing January and I am so happy. I am a hairdresser, I became a hairdresser to pay my school nursing ten years ago. Way to long if you asked me. It seem to me that where there a lot of women there’s always gonna be a lot of drama. Hairdresser are the same way! I was over worked as a assistant, bullied and I tried to help anyone but it’s all in the attitude cause even new hairdresser nowadays are just mean.
I think that everyone just needs to respect each other. All the mess and drama is really tired. We are all adult women and men who have bills children and responsibilities... This isn’t high-school. All nurses at every level are needed and I think people just need to mind their own business... get their own life in order and shut the heck up period. I would never hate or look down on anyone... period. I can’t stand drama and juvenile adults. I think that is comes from people are miserable, narcissistic, and just plain childish...
I've been a nurse for a long long long time. When I went to school things where alot different. Now they have lowered the standards and people are graduating who shouldn't who would have never made through the programs during the time I went. You could start with say 100 students you were lucky if 50 graduated .
This seems to be a bigger issue in LTC. Classism is not really an issue at my facility. I’m in acute care. We have a mixture of ADN’s and BSN’s at our facility. Majority are ADN’s. However, at the end of the day we all share the same responsibilities. The only difference is a measly $1.50 differential. 🤣 I think the majority of those who complain have an internal issue within themselves that can only be addressed by advancing their career or accepting that the amount of education they have is enough for what they want to accomplish in their career. Like you said people chose to advance their degrees for many different reasons. It all depends on your long term goals. I got a BSN for marketability within the field and that was my only motivation.
For me I refused to be in the facility doing the EXACT same job for lesser pay! For me it was all about the money! Also, when I worked at the nursing home they used to call them Little Play Nurse just too messy for me and I refuse!
Some of the easiest nurses to approach and share skills with are from LVN nurses. I'd rather take report and learn about a new client (I'm home health), from an experienced lvn verses an RN, most days.
Girl, you hit every problem wrong with the nursing world!! Please keep it real!!! In my own experience, I was in hospice, and we called the agency. I am an LPN and I called them because a person had passed. This RN comes in and says, did an RN make the call because only and RN can determine if a person is dead. And I said, the person has no BP, no pulse, no respirations, no heart rate, this person is dead. It doesn't take a high degree to figure that out.
Your relative that said LPNs aren’t respected? If that’s true then why are they charge nurses responsible for a whole facility? The home are company I work for was looking for LPN not RN. They know ltcs, certain demographics very well.
YourFavNurseB I don’t know about the hospital now but I remember they always ask for the nurse. People don’t even know lpns vs RN. Unless they actually work or have worked in healthcare most patients just see nurse not rn or LPN.
Right.... there is room for all of us 💰
That's right sis, you did that!
I feel people perpetuate the classism in healthcare because at their core, people want to always call out someone else to make themselves feel better about their current situation. It’s petty and lame! Everyone’s situation and motivations in the field are different.

Just because you went to college doesn't make you smarter than anyone else. Common sense doesn't come with a degree.😉
💯💯💯🙌🏾
What? Your statement is incorrect
Yea, Nurses are definitely MEAN to each other for no REASON. I don’t get it. I have a BSN, but I didn’t make a conscious decision to get it over an associates. Agreed lol I worked in Indiana hospital too.
Yep, same here girl! I could have wrote this exact comment!!
Kay Imanie Where I’m from BSN makes more than Associates.. I want my BSN
I think the lack of respect comes from not going through the levels of nursing. I love and respect all levels of nursing. I was a CNA,LPN,RN-ADN,RN-BSN. True respect comes from doing the work at all levels.
What is rna adn?

Thank you 😊
Congratulations!!!!
@@vanessadaniels2138 THANK YOU!
Do u have any old books you dont need ill pay for them please let me know
@@Damo_LowEnd_or_NoEnd I definitely have nursing books I'm looking to sell.
Congratulations 👏 👏 🎉🎉🎉🎉
LLOOOVVVEEEE!!!! Nothing to ADD to this one here other than I am a GODLY proud LVN and thank God for my journey thus far in NURSING!!!
I agree Ms Hall
My family is full of nurses, it's not for me because I am not a people person at all...anyway..my mom, granny, great great nanny is mean as hell.😄
My drive is my back lol. I've been CNA for 10 yrs I'm ready get my nursing
Your makeup is poppin and all, but your NAILS look so healthy!
And yes you are going to be a NP! You don’t know it yet but you are because you already have that mindset. I also see you as an educator. Changing healthcare for the better is also a goal of mine as well. I see a lot of things that I don’t like and I want to do my part to make things better for the workers and the people that are in our care.
She is the reason am confident and feel able to do anything❤️❤️❤️much love from fb
Thanks for these videos. They inspire. I just passed the hesi exam last week. Looks like I’ll be starting the RN program January 2021. 🙌🏽
Im in an RN program and being in clinicals I've learned some of the BEST hands on skills from LPNs🩺
Great information NurseB.....much love from Missouri
Thank you so much for making this video. You dish out information that people can’t google. 💜💜💜
Im am happy to say that i haven't experienced this where i work!
THANKS FOR THE SHOUT OUT BOO BEAR!! Muahhhh😘😘😘
I'm a nurse and I don't want my children to be. I know it's sad but oh well.
Thanks for your transparency.
You better come thru with this message Nurse B!!!
You spoke nothing but the truth
Preach nurse B, preach, preach to the people
YES!
I also do blood work and stuff too, all within my job description.
Who care we’re all nurses!!
Girl I’m a supervisor.... and as an LPN, I do wayyyyy more than the RNs! They don’t even know what Ferrous Sulfate is.... but imma sip my tea tho🥴
And that’s how the cycle continues. Let’s respect one another especially as black nurses.
Rose Lillys your absolutely right... but you must acknowledge the facts! And the one incident I’m referring to... she was white. However illiteracy is color blind 🤗
Love your lipstick 💄 color
I agree this happens. I dont mean to say this to sound....prissy....or whatever, but here goes....I'm in NM in a metropolitan area and at my organization, on my floor, this doesnt really happen. It even says on our badges what level we are....completely irrelevant. It comes down to whether or not you can hack it. ADN that can hack it does the same job as an MSN that can hack it. I only say this to give hope that not all environments are as petty and cut throat. Love you and your content @yourfavenurseB!
The other thing to keep in mind is that in many parts of the country LPN programs are not even an option any more, especially inpatient!
Truly! I look at some of my coworkers like, we all passed the NCLEX!
Yaahhh a new video. Made my day.
Definitely the respect. Clearly LPNS can make 6 figures. So it’s not about the money.
Gurl yes its a lot of petty Betty's I experience this as a CNA they turn there noses up at us and discredit r observations of patients because of the CNA title i even heard one nurse say CNA just wipe ass
Facts! When I was a LPN in a hospital I got looked down on! As a BSN same nurse I get more respect!
Thats why I keep to myself lol, the nursing world behind the scenes is so ratchet and petty.
When I was a cna I had to teach the RN how to take a blood sugar. No biggie, we are all taking care of everyone there.
I’m going into nursing to become a midwife too! ❤️❤️❤️
Great video!!!!! So true ..
I’ve met CNA’s with years of experience who know just as much if not more than the RN’s and NP’s!!! It takes experience in the field.
I've been a nurse for a long long long time. When I went to school things where alot different. Now they have lowered the standards and people are graduating who shouldn't who would have never made through the programs during the time I went. You could start with say 100 students you were lucky if 50 graduated .
OMGeeeee THANK YOU!!!! Accurate AF
Preach girl...Well said...
It's not about the nurse the aide management apron drs etc. Uts about the patient .
Some of the easiest nurses to approach and share skills with are from LVN nurses. I'd rather take report and learn about a new client (I'm home health), from an experienced lvn verses an RN, most days.
I am doing Lpn now on online but may I know how long take time Lpn to Rn what the requirements
Does anyone know how to get scholarships? I have applied to soo many but I never get any. I always just end up with several student loans..
Personally the grades in school and hours in school doesn’t mean S***! We all take the same CNA, LPN, RN, PN, etc test that everyone must pass.
Nurse B what's the name of Eboni's channel? I would love to watch her video too and I think y'all have great perspectives
Yes! I would like to know as well.
Divided mentality=divided community, mentality bleeds into careers.
Good info.
Oh my. At my job it didn’t matter if you were LPN or RN you just needed two nurses or an MD to verify it
I notice alot of racism in nursing also.
I’m not playing the disrespect game.
preach!!
Your relative that said LPNs aren’t respected? If that’s true then why are they charge nurses responsible for a whole facility? The home are company I work for was looking for LPN not RN. They know ltcs, certain demographics very well.
She was referring to patients. How some will say, “oh no I don’t want a LPN where is the RN”
YourFavNurseB I don’t know about the hospital now but I remember they always ask for the nurse. People don’t even know lpns vs RN. Unless they actually work or have worked in healthcare most patients just see nurse not rn or LPN.
