Lots of people in Compton own their homes, in the 80s 90s and now. Even kids from broken homes have public schools and programs etc plenty of opportunities good role models (America is a 1st world country) , but what is true is the allure of the flashy culture and the protection that the gangs bring. It seems like a good idea and you were right in the fact that there is often not enough people telling them it’s the wrong thing to do.
