Mid to late 90s and early 2000s music that came out of Houston was epic! Botany Boys, Yungstar, SUC, Moe, Pokey, Big Hawk and many more....... Definitely was the good ole days
I had just moved to metro Atlanta from Texas when Yungstar "Knocking Pictures of da wall" came out. They would occasionally play it on that radio and that song made me feel at home and comfortable in a place that seemed so foreign to me at the time. Yungstar the group Ideal were my comfort zones. They will always have a special place in my heart.
Great interview. DO GS GET TO GO TO HEAVEN that RICHIE RICH song was bangin in the 90s and the S.U.C. freestyle with BIG MOE was too clean. Great memories, stay blessed up!
Go read the book. It answers that question a lot of artists when they showed up in Houston were looking for Screw because they heard his tapes. Spice 1, Shaq, Baby, and Lil Wayne are just a few names that met with Screw personally. A lot of the artists met with him just to thank Screw for him putting their songs on his tapes. It wasn’t just artists but record executives were also reaching out to Screw and supplying him with vinyl so he could mix their tracks onto his tapes.
Why is the microphone so damn big though????? Y’all need to upgrade to mic clips, clip the mic on your shirt collar. You can tell bruh felt weird holding that shit to his face. 💀
