Really agreed with the Sickness theme idea with Green. It could hamper a similar thing to the Dark Hour from P3 and the Fog from P4. Like a Virus, infecting humans or select users that could be the main bosses with multiple sicknesses/diseases or even disabilities, mutate them into Shadows, representing their medical condition to the extreme, and embodying the willingness of them giving up to the sickness, the flaws or imperfections of themselves. At least that I think would be an interesting idea.
I know it will be green theme this time, but I want to share a fanmade ideas if the color purple Color Theme : Purple Theme : Mystery, Misdirection, Boredom and Paranormal Personas theme : Magician/Witch Fool : Mephisto (MC, Leader, Fire) Magician : Merlin (Ice) Emperor : Freyr (Water) Sun : Kresnik (Detective, Light) Moon : Kudlak (Prankster, Dark) Star : Aradia (History Teacher, Navigator) Lovers : Selene (Elec) Priestess : Aset (Wind) Empress : Freya (Earth) Devil : Circe (Psychokinesis) Fortune : Morrigan (Mascot Crow, Nuclear) MC lives in “Leland Apartment” in Naha city, Okinawa. He lives with his aunty, a History Teacher. There’s a phenomenon where someone’s gone missing, or witnessing that the world is ruined and nobody’s there. The phenomenon can also make someone mentally ill or even go crazy. All of those phenomena are called Paranormal Syndrome (Ghost Sickness IRL). The cause of Paranormal Syndrome is because so many people want something different to happen in reality because they are bored with living their normal lives. The otherworld is a parallel world through reflection, such as a mirror, window or even water. If someone stares too much through reflection, they will see the purple fog. The purple fog is causing an illusion to hunt many people to the parallel world. The mascot character is a crow named Lux. She was born when the previous end of the world happened. Final Boss : Diana (in this story, there’s a rumor according to the book of prophecy called “Codex Ia Speranza” (written by the Mascot, Lux) that Diana is a Giant Star with consciousness that collapsed and turned into a Black Hole. There’s also a rumor that the current world is just a replica (fake version) of the real world. The prophecy also said that many times the world is ending but some miracle just undo the world ending. This cycle will always happen. Awakening/Summoning Persona method : Breaking the mirror of yourself (breaking the illusion) The ultimate persona for MC is Lucifero, the god of witch, the morning star, and the husband of Diana, the goddess of hunt, the moon, and Queen of the Witches. Lucifero (Star) : Lucifer (Max Star) + Mephisto (Fool)
My own oddly specific desire for P6 is an Akechi-style villain-turned-party-member with The Tower as their social link, because that Arcana is associated with a downfall after pride, but also the ability to rebuild, which I think has been underutilized as a prominent plot-important social link. Their initial Persona would be Hamlet, a Shakespearean antihero who was willing to destroy his own family/life/kingdom in the name of petty revenge. But after completing the character's social link, their ultimate Awakened form would be Prospero, the main character of The Tempest, a sorceror who spent his whole life plotting revenge, but decided to let it all go, show mercy and abandon his magecraft when his daughter fell in love with the son of the person he swore revenge on.
I love that idea! Also, Prospero is one of my all time favourite characters. I’ll actually be quoting him for the final book as the final line in this trilogy I’m writing
That would be pretty cool. And maybe as you max out the social links, you have the ability to use that character's specific weapon as well as bonuses to your stats when you use that specific arcana's persona. Like maybe Max SP for the Magician, HP, and speed for the Chariot, Magic attack with the Priestess, magic defense for the Empress, Tower for physical defense, and the Emperor for physical attack, Lovers being healing, that sorta thing. Also, I know this may be a bit of a personal thing, but I'd love to have the Lovers girl be a senpai, especially with the voice of Saori Hayami.
@@ColinLack Maybe like the usual bright and sunny demeanor, big sisterly personality and probably have like a younger brother that she works hard to take care of, hence why she easily takes on the motherly role. With her main attribute being light, befitting her kind, motherly nature, and her dream being a nurse, or a doctor. Sorta like Cecile from the Crossbell games, but with a supernatural mythological entity, and a healer. She could also be a part-time shrine maiden, befitting the holy/light attribute. And part of the reason I want Saori Hayami to voice her is those types of characters are her natural element. I'd also like for the setting to take place somewhere in Kyoto, or Kyushu.
I really love your ideas Colin! Especially the idea of main character/ party member has a illness/disability. It’s an excellent way to have a unique heroes journey arc. The persona could allow them do things they cannot do themselves (ok duh of course they would but I mean in the sense of gives that character the ability that would be impossible to do due to their condition e.g~ character who is able to walk and fight with fist whilst in reality, they are in a wheelchair without the persona).
That was exactly the type of thing I was thinking. I really want you to play the Persona games some day because they are SO important to me. Like similar to how Trails is. Trails, Ys and Persona have seen me through some of the darkest times of my life! I think for you the best start point would be either Persona 4 Golden or Persona 5 Royal. For Persona don't worry about streaming them when I gift them to you :) What are some other things you'd like to see in a Persona 6 btw?

Amazing video my dude I have not got into persona but one of these days I really want to try out Persona 3. Mostly because I am a sucker for all things blue.
1- Liking the Green color aesthetic leading into a focus on mental illness and how society treats it. Every party member could struggle with overcoming one such illness. Another P6 speculation video suggested ones such as Gynophobia, speech impediment, gambling, or eating disorder. The Velvet Room could become a hospital with a Nurse attendant. On the villainous side we could have a character who finds out about the party's 'extracurricular activities', but they refuse to believe the other world is real, believing instead that the party is insane and trying to get them committed. 2- Gameplay-wise I wouldn't change too much, but I've always felt the 'if protag dies you lose' adds a lot of fake difficulty to the game. As a compromise, allow the player to assign one teammate as a '2nd in command', so that it's only game over if both characters die. This would also have side benefits such as bolstering your social link with that character as a sign of trust. Additionally, bring back Fusion spells from Persona 2, which would increase in power along with social links. 3- With 'nuturing' and 'healing' being two major themes a new female protagonist would fit better. If not, then allow the player the choice. 4- I've actually written half a P6 story myself which included new Personas such as Ann Bonny, Wild Bill, Galahad, and Erinyes/Nemesis.
Speaking of sickness: if the protagonist is silent again in P6, this time it may be justified with them having autism or selective mutism. Tatsuya Suou from P2IS struck me as not just a silent protagonist but as actually suffering or having suffered from selective mutism or PTSD, as he was explicitly a person who had suffered a violent trauma in his childhood and was stated in the game itself to be uncomfortable around other people and to talk very little. I myself have a hypothesis that after the Alaya Shrine incident, Tatsuya actually became mute and started speaking again only after some years. I myself, by the way, have Asperger's Syndrome, and I loved the widely-criticized portrayal of Lex Luthor in Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice due to him being, to me, a good portrayal of an Asperger. By the way, I wouldn't want the game to take a pro-environment stance. I'm honestly tired of green aesops in video games and I dislike how the side of industrialization is portrayed as negative: I myself really dislike all this talk of sustainability, as all that is doing is causing taxes to skyrocket, cause food shortages due to wind power plants being built on terrains that were once used for food, electric automobiles catch fire and have little autonomy, etc, so I for once like to see the "dark side" of the green transition, to see it deconstructed. And an autistic or an asperger generally suffers when having to do lifestyle changes, so having an autistic protagonist support environmentalists comes as too convenient. And I'd like to see more Personas themed after Persian/Zoroastrian, Middle Eastern/West Asian, or North Asian (Russian, Mongol, Turkic) myths, there just is not enough representation of North and West Asia in video games.
You make some great points I'd also like to see more North and West Asian persona in the game just to have more options. Also, thanks for sharing that personal bit of information. I also feel like the protagonists being silent in general could be related to their shared traumas. For example, I was bullied badly in school, developed a stammer as a result and became more and more silent until reaching my late 20s early 30s, because I felt like no one was going to listen to me.
@@ColinLack Though yeah, I kinda hope Persona 6 had speaking protagonists, if there are two, because they're likely meant to be established characters rather than self-inserts. If there are two protagonists you can choose from, I don't like that the one you play as becomes silent because it's obvious by the very existence of the possibiliy to play as the other that the two are meant to be established characters. I myself did not like Tatsuya and Maya being silent in P2 or Serph being silent in Digital Devil Saga, because, unlike other Persona protagonists,, Tatsuya, Maya and Serph are very established characters and giving them a character arc would have been better than insisting they're meant to represent the player when they clearly aren't (Serph in particular was flat-out conceived as non-silent originally: Atlus changed their mind late in development and created Gale in order to fill in the dialogue that was once designed for Serph). Not to mention, Ringo and ReFantazio's protagonist aren't silent, and Ringo was the most interesting part of SH2 by far. Also, I played Trails through Daybreak using a fantranslation, since you mentioned that game (there are no Brave Orders but there are S-Boosts which work somewhat similarly but only for one party member, and are given depending on the Hollow Core equipped): one thing that was cool about Van was that the game even had a morality system, but at the same time Van not only wasn't silent, but he's very central to the plot and having him silent would have been a problem because of him having a lot of pre-established connections to the characters in the game's world that the game relies on a lot to carry its plot forward (unlike Rean who doesn't have that many connections to the cat least in CS1 and 2 could have been silent without losing much, since he's clearly inspired by Yu Narukami). I think Van is my favorite protagonist in gaming, period. I would like to see the protagonists in P6 as being closer to Van than to Yu or Joker, in terms of not being newcomers to the setting but having a lot of pre-established connections with a lot of characters: instead of newly-forging Social Links, various Social Links might be about the evolution of relationships that already existed.
@@vittoriopugliese3352 I am super excited for Daybreak so thank you for bringing that up!
