Andy absolutely should have killed the Shark guys, the second one drops the Rakuyo which is arguably the best weapon in the entire game. That was no doubt why people were telling him to go down there.
Tim, I am a massive scaredy-cat and horror gives me hella nightmares. I tried Bloodborne when it was free for PS+ and it changed my life. After that first boss battle I was hooked. I fought my way through this horrible, terrifying world and it was empowering. I had nightmares my entire way through this game but it was worth it. I now revel in testing myself with challenging games, and whenever I find myself up against a real-world terrifying situation, I always think to myself "I beat Orphan of Kos, I can fucking do this." I think Bloodborne is such a fantastic experience that it is at least worth the shot, at least until you beat the first boss!
I never knew about fromsoft or bloodborne until one day in 2019, I was watching a gameranx video of video game scourges or something like that. One of the entrees was bloodborne and their description of it peaked my interest very much so. I remembered seeing it in my brother in laws ps library so I asked if I could play it and he was cool with it so I dove in. I was immediately hooked because of the mood and ambience. After that first boss, I was even more hooked. I eventually got my brother in law to play the game himself and he also got hooked. From then on, we moved onto sekiro, then the souls games, and finally elden ring. Now where starving for the next fromsoft title while playing all the good souls likes such as lies of p. Who knew a gameranx video could lead to where I am now
Btw, this is all after playing dark souls many many years prior and completely giving up on it after not being able to beat the asylum demon cause I knew souls games were supposed to be hard and I thought I was actually meant to kill it with my bear fists so I ended up giving up before I even noticed the side door. I feel like fromsoft game’s often over exaggerated difficulty reputation discourages people from even trying their games. They think they’re games where every single boss is going to take 100s of attempts but in reality, they’re all manageable fights as long as you’re willing to pay attention and learn when to dodge, and when to attack. Btw, I know I said at the beginning of the first comment that I didn’t know about fromsoft, and now I’m saying that many years ago, I tried dark souls. I didn’t know fromsoft were the devs if dark souls and since I was pretty young, I didn’t pay attention to their name in the opening cards, if I knew bloodborne and dark souls were made by the same devs, I likely wouldn’t have even tried it knowing how I got absolutely clapped on ds1. This is all to say, don’t be afraid to try out souls games because of their reputation. They are difficult games, but they are also not that difficult aside from a handful of fights throughout the entire catalog
After beating Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree, I played through Lies of P, then I had to do Bloodborne next and let me tell you playing through bloodborne and old hunter DLC and beating Orphan of Khos on the 2nd try was the amalgamation of my get good gaming career.
@@HydeTy Actually someone just needs to explain to him that the difficulty isn’t what these games are really about. He’s clearly intimidated and someone just needs to explain to him that there is more to these games than difficult bosses and obtuse storytelling. The best thing about these games are the worlds and the sense of discovery.
Andy, with the amount of dedication and perseverance you've already shown in this project, it's unbelievable to me that you wouldn't go for the platinum. The Chalice Dungeon stuff isn't that bad and there are guides to help navigate them. The bosses are incredibly challenging and there is a key lore figure you would enjoy encountering there. You are missing out on content!
@@luciddre4m Plus Bloodborne is actually one of the easier From Software games to Platinum. It’s not like DS1 where you have to farm all the damn covenant items with a 1% drop rate.
If Andy had just played Tim the entire 5 minutes of that theme I feel like it might have even pushed him over the edge and into playing the game. That is how good it is.
GRRM actually has a lot of cosmic horror and Cthulhu inspired lore in the GoT books. There are fish people and stories of deeps ones and the Greyjoys with their Kraken have a ton of HP Lovecraft like lore around it. Good episode though.
As a Mexican American (not Mexican from Mexico so I can’t speak to there) I do see a lot of love for Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and bands like The Cure/The Smiths in my community. Something about the gothic stuff appeals to a lot of us I guess?
@@realrobrose There are worse gamers than Tim who have gotten into these games through playing Elden Ring. He just needs to give the game a proper chance. Doesn’t seem like he wants too though.
@BasketCase-rr7tx that's all well and good for all the worse gamers than Tim. If *TIM* wants to try Elden Ring this is the only way he'd enjoy doing it. The man needs structure.
@BasketCase-rr7tx there's way more structure in Zelda. The game doesn't force you to go anywhere but they literally point at everything you should do next. Which is exactly what I'm saying is necessary here. You take a right turn 5 minutes into Elden Ring and you can end up 3 hrs deep in a cave you really shouldn't even be in yet for 20 more hours
I've never understood the 'Blood Vials' argument for not completing Bloodborne. Oh no I have to play more Bloodborne in order to get further into Bloodborne, woe is me 😮💨
Recently found this channel and love the content and panel as a gamer in my 40's. After playing 20 hours of elden ring in 2022, I bought all the dark souls, sekiro and armoured core 6, but I still haven't had time to beat them yet. I just bought a ps4 pro just so i could play bloodbourne for the first time because after beating elden ring and SOTE, I have to beat it as it seems to be the fan favorite. Thanks for the sick shows 🤘
Just stop trying to convince Tim. He has a prejudice towards From games that impedes him from really giving these games a try. He refuses to step outside his comfort zone. Just like Greg.
Andy's like this didnt work that didnt this boss never did that. Lol its because you're playing a broken build of the game and missing out on the real experience because of it. Smh
No thanks. I’d take these guys over him any day of the week. Last time I heard Brian talk was on an episode of Beyond where he spent like 25 minutes trying to act like IGN’s reviewer for Black Myth was better at games than the people watching the podcast because he beat the game. He was completely oblivious to the fact that most souls fans think that game is very easy and made himself look a bit silly.
@@BasketCase-rr7tx ok.....and what does that have to do with Bloodborne? Nothing, he is a massive fan and one the big voices asking for a Remaster and 60fps releases for this game. Just like your opinion of him but these guys were very low energy for this game and the content was not very good so it needs someone to bring the levels up.

And it’s about some of the coolest shit in the whole story with Maria! I was one of the people in the stream trying to get him to do it! lol
@@teamramrod27 Yep. Shame cus he was talking about how cool the weapon was and then never collected it for himself.
Barrett absolutely killing it on the switchboard during the chalice dungeons discussion 😂😂😂
