And they targeted the global markets with a right hand drive as well. They can do one better by offering a smaller engined turbo version to enter into markets that have regulations for large capacity engines while delivering similar performance. The price is the main draw along with the mid engine design and driving characteristics will definitely bring a lot of customers. Yes the auto manufacturers globally have taken notice and are up against very tough competition this time from GM. They have literally set a new benchmark
Hope so. I think the Corvette deserves it. Been through the years as a proper American super/sports car. And one of the very few left with a proper naturally aspirated v8 engine too with an amazing price tag

A true supercar..no snob appeal..just amazing..the door air intake is a design classic. The Z06 and ZR1 versions will be about $100,000 more but..they will be better than their supercar rivals. This is $60,000 and does 0-60mph in under 3 seconds..wow...theres only one car to get and thats the awesome Corvette mid engine supercar.
An everyday corvette is not anywhere close to a supercar, lol. If it is then so are Mustangs and Challengers because they have great performers as well.

However, supercars also get faster and faster. Just because the base corvette now can compete with supercars a couple of generations old does not mean it is even close to current generation supercars.

$60k Corvette C8 is a supercar. A C8 at $60k is relatively cheap enough that I'm keeping my C7 manual transmission for 3 pedal engagement fun when I get a C8. Unlike other cars that I've owned in that I normally tradein to lower the cost of the new car. Wow, the interior seat colors, dash colors, door colors, drive mode switch colors, seat belt colors. World's 1st car with a GPS lift.

The more I look at it, the more it grows on me. Sure, the steering wheel looks a bit off. And the rear of the car has always been the weak point in Corvette designs. But overall, this car is amazing. No other car in the price range will be able to compete with it. It will make mustangs and chargers look outdated.
I'll confess that my car knowledge is a bit skimpy compared to some, but it seems like this is a whole lot of cool car for the money. If it had pothole detection to take control of the steering for 2-seconds (to avoid them) then it would be even better.
The front end can lift 2 inches for speed bumps and driveways and steep whatevers and you can save up to 1000 locations. You can turn it on manually, or the car will do it automatically once the location is saved on the navigation. Also it may cost $60k at very very very starters base proce, but a fully loaded one with z51 package is probably gonna be $70-$75k. Also. This is just a base model c8... wait till the z06 and zr1 come out. Theyll be like $130k-$160k and they will be so damn quick and ridiculous... it's not even gonna be funny. Just give the z06 to come out in 1 year. Stay tuned. You'll remember this comment.
I was against the design at first n the whole mid engine idea but if this was what azzora wanted it to be this is ground breaking if you ask me I’m impressed well designed what the Italians try to master with their cars this one does it the best I’m assuming
My opinion is I prefer the 2019 C7 and I will have to wait a couple years more to and pick it up used. Unfortunately right now I can’t pull the trigger.

The car is amazing I just wish they would of made this a stand alone Corvette for high performance and keep producing the original classic version of the car along with a 4door vette based on the previous generation architecture and a SUV vette based on the Chevy blazer architecture. They could of really grew the brand but GM has and always will have short sighted tunnel vision.
No extended warranty and no after sales services the reason why they are able to create this beautiful car for such a cheap price is because of that reason ...more warranty = higher sticker price

I like everything about the styling accept for the rear. The rear looks too much like a Camaro. I would have liked to see an active rear spoiler but I suppose this is where Chevy decided to keep costs down.
I was hoping for an active spoiler too but i am still fine with it as it is. Even without a spoiler the car looks superbly good. I like the rear. The picture of the rear of it at frame 5:53 looks crazy aggressive.
@@drdre6410 z06 and zr1 will have active aero. The corvette c7 back in 2013 had this original square shape rear and squinted taillights. Then camaros started having it much later... why people say it looks like a camaro beats me

Base model plus LT2 trim as the only option, that will give you everything you ever needed (nav, blind spot and parking sensor, electronic seats etc).

I like everything about the styling accept for the rear. The rear looks too much like a Camaro. I would have liked to see an active rear spoiler but I suppose this is where Chevy decided to keep costs down.
I was hoping for an active spoiler too but i am still fine with it as it is. Even without a spoiler the car looks superbly good. I like the rear. The picture of the rear of it at frame 5:53 looks crazy aggressive.
@@drdre6410 z06 and zr1 will have active aero.
The corvette c7 back in 2013 had this original square shape rear and squinted taillights. Then camaros started having it much later... why people say it looks like a camaro beats me
@William Felix dont ever look at one in the street as to it having your attention then. If you look at one and say "wow" by accident then you're just lying to yourself.
