I'm familiar with misplaced camera movement being added into stuff. I once had some DVDs of the Basil Rathborne Sherlock Holmes series and, later on, watched one of the episodes on TH-cam and noticed the addition of some really bad camera movement added in. Also, I wanted to hear Scot McNeil.
I guess if anyone was observant enough to know, the music used in the "trailer" segment of the movie (with narration at the start of the review) is the main opening theme from ZONE FIGHTER (or RYUSEI NINGEN ZOON), a Toho produced tokusatsu television series that aired in 1973. And it had guest stars Godzilla, King Ghidorah, and Gigan from the Godzilla franchise. Just for anyone who didn't know. ;)

I'm not sure if many people are familiar with Asterix, but when I checked it's English dubbed animated movies, some of them had that zooming and camera movement too, while the original were still. It's really annoying to watch the camera move all the goddamn time
The real problem there isn't the films themselves, but it's a TH-cam filter people use (or are supposed to use) when they want to stop the image from shaking around. You're not supposed to use this filter for videos that are obviously not recorded by a phone or camcorder in this case. Unfortunately a lot of TH-camrs don't know this and they put it on thinking that would 'fix' the film when it doesn't. It just ruins it, especially when movement is supposed to happen like in a pan.
1:50 That is basically just a song sequence from a 1988 Indian film. The rest of the film is just a simple mellow drama but for publicity, the director purposefully dressed up the actors in Super Man and Spider Man costumes (only for that song) and it worked. Clever bastard.

The annoying camera movements looks like the translators videotaped the original movie in front of their TV and mess with the zoom function. Which is what I thought the trailer was before Bennett talked about it.
Mystic Quest holds a special place in my heart. Despite its flaws, I really enjoyed playing that game on the SNES when I was kid and even to this day. The soundtrack was also astounding, atmospheric, diverse, and probably one of the best that the SNES had to offer.
Nagoragama which Mystic Quest are we talking about? the American one or the European one, as they are two different games developed and published by S-E. either way, both have great music.
I have a English version I obtained a long time ago that doesn't have the shaky camera effect that's happening here. It does not make this...thing any more watchable. I had it for years, and I could never get past the first fight scene. Great review.

Thanks for reminding me to fix my copy of mystic quest... Ever since I was young, the circuit board has somehow managed to slide into the cardridge, making half of the contacts not connect with the SNES... I got it from my uncle but never bothered to fix it... I probably need to borrow a special screwdriver or bit-set from someone to open it though... darn
....aaactually, Sage, it looks less like an actual camera trick for the English dub, and more for the TH-cam upload. TH-cam has a feature which is supposed to be used to stabilize, and keep focus, on otherwise shaky-cam videos. Unfortunately, many shows, like this, get this feature used a LOT, to get past copyright.
