When i took instrument lessons last year i recorded all of my lessons so i could go back and listen to feedback and such. I recorded in a fairly low quality so i didn't go over my monthly quota (EN Free). One really useful and valuable tool!
I've been happy with Evernote audio notes, but admit I haven't used it in a long while. I might get back into it. Speaking for the iOS version, one additional thing that should be mentioned is you can leave the app while making an audio note and it will continue recording. Additionally, I've had the Evernote app crash a few times while recording a note and everything was safely stored right up until the app crashed.
Hi DottoTech: Really enjoy the lessons. A great help since I am 51 and relearning everything. Google has been changing everything on me about every 15 mins. Can I get back to the Google I am used too? Took forever to learn what I did learn. I think. It is the new bookmark thing that looks like photocards. Gosh. Thank you.
Yes, it's a great feature, but with some restrictions. An IPhone audio note in m4a format isn't played in the Evernote windows version and the Android amr files are not played on the IPhone.
Can't wait to get the iPhone 6 -the large size. I realize that although I have an iPhone now, an iPad, a Macbook Pro and an iMac (nature of my work), I tend to rely on the iPhone most. Nice to know its recording quality is decent and easily added to Evernote. GOTTA get more involved with Evernote. I learn mostly from you, dottotech. Thank you.
Very good. U have to todoist, evernote. I am in confusion. Which should be used? I prefer evernote for integrated solution. But still wish to have ur opinion. Thanks
Evernote must be a journalists go-to app since you can write your story and record your interview all in one place. Your transistion to the larger iPhone is also a topic of interest as I'm considering doing the same. Maybe you will record on the pros and cons you encounter as you make the transistion ? For example, what cover did you go with ?
Steve I really enjoy your Dotto tech reporting I am watching Evernote for audio recording I ran into an issue and was not able to get an answer from Evernote I recorded a meeting using the audio recording on my phone which was not hooked up to the Internet at the time and I lost the recording it just disappeared so people need to be aware of that possibility hey thanks a lot I appreciate what you're doing
Thanks. It never occurred to me to even try this. It's going to be much easier recording meetings with Evernote than trying to get a "voice memo" off the iPhone (since I can only sync it to my computer at home).
Can you record direct from your desktop either from the Evernote App or from logging into evernote on the web? Here's what I am trying to do... I have a online webinar that I want to record that I am watching on the web. I would like to record the audio from the webinar into evernote so I have access to it later. It would be nice to actually capture the entire webinar including the visual slides but I am not sure if Evernote can capture a web presentation and record both the visual and audio?
***** I am so new to Evernote and just trying to learn what it can do. I upgraded to premium and have been scanning, tagging and saving everything. Loving it.
Our Special Needs Children (p) No Evernote is not a tool for that sort of thing. You need some sort of screen recurring tool, (such as ScreenFlow,or Camtasia, or the webinar host may have a replay you can access) Once you capture it you can export the audio and save that in Evernote.
Hmm, still mulling over the purchase of a 'larger' phone, e.g., trouble in pockets, coats, holding in my delicate hands, stormin' castle with it etc. Many thanks, Steve, for Evernote/Audio chat. Food for thought during the lonely mealtimes of my soul. Bye ;-)
Hi Steve thanks once again for an informative video. I have been trying a third party Evernote app on android called WriteNote or WriteNote Pro (also on iOS) that I'm struggling to save notes on. I would appreciate your help.
+Patrick Olson How can I help? If you want a simple note tool for Evernote, (although I usually just work in the Evernote app) try this. th-cam.com/video/-UKc038dZHE/w-d-xo.html
I am looking for an app that let me take notes while I record the audio and reference my text entries with the time in the recording when the entry was made.
Yes, Steve, feel you may be right. A friend has said it'll be like using a ' phablet '.Might toddle on down to Apple & feel the hardware in my hands ( as the actress said to the bishop ). Well, there's a castle approaching, so must dash. Thanks & toodle-oo!
Hi Steve iam unable to use speech to text in my samsung a5 phone. When i click it it just recording the voice but its not converting to text. Can u help me .
as an android user i'm not very impressed with the lack of visual indication when recording an audio note. other than that little timer, there is no other way to tell it's recording, no?
RESPECTED SIR. EVERYTHING IS GREAT ABOUT YOUR CHANNEL. Here is one request from me, please accept my request. I know you have done many videos on evernote. i like those videos. But some how i am not able to understand this evernote. i know everything about evernote. but please make a video which covers some important points. 1. Why one should use evernote? 2. how it helps us in daily life? 3. If i am using free account of evernote, Is it a great idea to add lots of notes in Evernote? 4. How it useful as a journal and how to use it a journal. 5. If it has reminders and to do list! why we need other to do list apps and reminders notes? Please please please make a long video on this points and i want to know how everyone is using Evernote?

Laura Belgrave I am sure you will ole the new phone Laura, and the larger screen just makes Evernote more valuable IMO.
this is awesome wow i can save more time by using this. I didn't realized how much technology saves time
You can record audio with built in iPhone recorder app, then mail it to evernote. With this way we get better audio quality.
Areeb Ijaz Good tip, thanks!
how do you put the effects up on the video?
Very good. U have to todoist, evernote. I am in confusion. Which should be used? I prefer evernote for integrated solution. But still wish to have ur opinion. Thanks
I mean to doist, evernote.
Nayan Shah I use ToDoist for tasks, Evernote for keeping notes, links and anything that fits in it!

Ian Bennett Great suggestion Ian I will do a video on the 6+!
I was searching on Evernote to see if there was a way to playback my notes by reading back to me by voice?

Frank Phillips Interesting, I wonder if you could ensure that it was safe by recording it to a "local" notebook first, one that does not sync.
I may have an issue with my phone because I was using it to copy pages into Evernote on Saturday and my photos disappeared. Memory issue perhaps.
Thanks. It never occurred to me to even try this. It's going to be much easier recording meetings with Evernote than trying to get a "voice memo" off the iPhone (since I can only sync it to my computer at home).
Art Bromage Yes, a much better solution to the voice memo!

Can Evernote go the other way? Can it read to a blind person? thanks

Peter Lewis I am liking the big phone Peter, it is a bit bulk, but I am doing more on it than I ever did on my 4S

Othni Morales I am not sure about an app, but I bet the Livescribe pens will do the trick!
Nice vid!

Peter Lewis Let us know what route you take!
Hello, Steve, yes I shall. Mind sort of made up.
Thanks Interesting as always I probably wouldn't know about that ability.
Fridman Michael You are most welcome! It is more useful than one might think on the surface.
Hi Steve iam unable to use speech to text in my samsung a5 phone. When i click it it just recording the voice but its not converting to text. Can u help me .
You need to contact Samsung for that, sorry.
how to delete the voice note in IOS iPad ?

Rafael Ulloa Yes, I thought that was very weak interface as well!

DIPAK DESAI Thanks Dipak, I actually cover a lot of those points, here, dottotech.com/sep-od-sf-1/
yay
The android version is poor. When the screen turns off, the recording stops.
chrisrufc I did not know that it stopped recording when the screen blanks, that is an issue!
Apple? Please. :)
James M Watch to the end James! Android is in the house!!!! :-)
boring.i need one with captions
Would reading it make it more interesting?
Your outro is horrible. You should make something a little bit more professional and hq. The vid's great tho!
Ananas_hoi I will think about it, I don't have the format, but it can always be improved
