I hope it's helped clarify or simplify things for you, or at the very least present it in a more easily digestible or understandable way. There's so many things to consider and not really a way to include every possible combination or possibility, but I hope it's a good starting point at least.
I'd personally say my top pick for Ashe is Wyvern Lord and the classes that lead into it, both to beef up his attack using a weapon type he's already good at and to more quickly and easily reach doors and chests while having inventory space for Bows as a secondary weapon (or, let's be honest, primary weapon as soon as his Axe skill is high enough to certify... you could probably get away with doing it through teaching only). Anyway, I don't know if you've already said via some social media or something, but how come the playthrough videos are taking so long to start to be posted again?
Jus go Wyvern Rider :V No seriously. It only takes C Axes. Ingrid is strong in everthing for Falcon so can afford the detour, and it'll fix her STR if she got STR-screwed. Dipping into Wyvern for ~5 levels saved my Ingrid since she got 6 STR just from promotion.
@@raikaria3090 My problem with this is that I find Ingrid wants A lance and/or A sword ASAP for the magic damage arts they provide. With that you get a unit who effectively has adaptive damage without sacrificing being a flying unit. Since her magic growth is only 35%, taking any drop in it is problematic as well.
Just wanted to say as a video editor, that the design and layout of this entire video is so good. I love the subtle moving patterned background. Great work!
I started soft-save scumming growths on certain chapters. If ~halfway through the map, most of my units got good level ups that include speed, if a unit gets a bad level, divine pulse, and sideline them for the rest of the chapter.
What about Gilbert? He only appears as a unit on the Blue Lions route and is the only post time-skip unit in the entire game, so I count him as a Blue Lion character. Well for anyone interested, here’s my take: Gilbert serves as a replacement for Dedue, either temporary or permanent. He has loads of HP, Attack, and Defense, though his Speed is garbage at only 2. This is somewhat mitigated by having instant access to Brave Weapons in both Lances and Axes, so he can have great Player Phase use. When it comes to what to promote him into, his B+ in Axes, B in Heavy Armor, and C in Riding means he’ll have an easy time to go into the Great Knight class which requires a B+ in Axes, A in Heavy Armor, and B+ in Riding, and the dual Axe and Lancefaire compliments his proficiencies in those areas nicely. If you're looking to patch up his Speed, then Wyvern is the path to go. Unlike Dedue, Gilbert doesn’t have a weakness in Flying, and the Base 21 Speed of Wyvern Knight means Gilbert’s Speed will jump exponentially. So if you focus solely on Flying and raise Gilbert’s Axe tank to A, which is simple, you’ll have Gilbert be a Wyvern Lord in no time. However, Gilbert’s Speed will still be an issue. He won’t double anything that isn’t a Fortress Knight, and will always get doubled by nearly every other enemy, and while his defense is good, it isn’t on the level of Dedue, so you’ll have to take more care if you want him on the front lines to soak up a lot of physical hits, and enemy mages will rip him to shreds with his low Resistance stat. Also, since he joins in Part 2, he’ll be fighting for a deployment slot among the rest of the Blue Lions and whatever other units you have be they someone like Catherine, Alois, Shamir, Cyril, and whoever else you decided to recruit in Part 1. In conclusion, Gilbert is an excellent filler unit that can essentially be a free Wyvern Lord, but his low speed with his good but not great defense means he’ll have a harder time surviving on the front lines compared to Dedue, and by the time he joins, you’ll already have a well established team that you’ve been using for about 30-40 hours, so he’ll be constantly fighting for a spot amongst all your other excellent units.
I actually went Great Knight on him eventually and it has worked out nicely, letting him stay tanking for all my units without them pausing so he can catch up. Even my fliers don't have to nerf themselves to let him keep up now. Its nice having a calvary brigade of Gilbert, Ferdie, Sylvain, and Marianne as a greatKnight, paladin, black knight, and holy knight respectfully. If anything, Byleth is having a hard time keeping up in their unique class.
bluesdealer Because it’s just stupid at times. There’s a lot of things that we can change about our characters and make form them into whatever we want... except for gender locked classes. Something that’s COMPLETELY out of our control. At least we can affect growth rates.

12:44 Lorenz's canon class is also Paladin, so there's a trio of canon cavaliers. 20:19 To expand upon this, Ingrid is the only character in the entire game where her outfit isn't used for an Advanced class. Every other characters just don't have their outfits in a master class.
Yep, I've always considered Lorenz a cavalier, too, especially with a lot of the pre-release screens of him we saw, but curiously enough around the monastery he has the "mage" pose with his hands and he went to the school of Sorcery with Annette and Mercedes which is really weird... I can't wait to analyze him further if I do the Deer Students Guide
This is probably because the game devs still intended her to be a flying class... And there's no pegasus for advanced classes which really really suck if you ask me.
@@antray6848 Agreed, I think that master class Falcon Knight should have had the ability to use magic, and advanced pegasus knight should have been what the current Falcon knight is.
This is my first ever FE game... so im woefully new to all of this. While i had an inkling of what it might be, i had no idea why stats were randomly going up each level. Seriously this helped me so much. One of the few things i did differently that i stand by is making Annette Dancer. Since i was mainly using her as a rally bot/occasional attacker anyway it ended up working out. I dont know how it effects stat growths but im really loving the class on her, although her magic feels weaker already. Also i really like it cannon wise, since its obvious she loves music, with the choir practices and supports with Felix showing this. Plus she begged me to let her dance.
Hey! I hope you are loving the game and I'm glad this helped you. Take it at your own pace, and don't worry, there's a lot to take in and even after years of playing all these games, I still have much to learn, too! I hope you love the game and the series in general!
Yes ‘ , that’s literally what I did lol, it was my third play through and I was like, I really want to use magic bow, so when I saw Mercedes having a bow and being a healer, i knew what must be done
I wanted Dark Knight Annette because I thought the outfit looked good, but the extra mobility on non-desert maps is super helpful. Even when she didn’t double, she was consistently hitting for 60+ damage from 4 range (I gave her the +1 range staff) with 20-30 crit chance. Canto is also pretty good. I wish she had a slightly better spell list, but she ended up being a solid mage. Her little arm movement quirk in cutscenes slays me every time.
Glad to see my Felix nitpick addressed in the intro. I'd like to add on if you have a strong Battalion to give Ingrid, (I gave her Claude's Immortal Corp acquired in my GD run) she can really control the battlefield with Gambits. Lady Knight further boosts her Gambit power, and her high Charm ensures she'll crush her foes despite her poor Strength. It's like a third attack stat and I love it.
Or go falcon knight with Annette? After you get her up to C rank in axes, at which point she can use the Bolt Axe, you can focus on her sword and lance ranks, while putting her on sky watch to raise her flying. It fixes her speed problem, without any penalties to her magic growth. Personally, outside of being gender locked, I sort of find falcon knight to be better than wyvern lord. It gives a massive boost to speed growths, while not being far behind in strength growths, and it easily tanks magical attacks, which are problematic for wyvern lords. That's my opinion, at least...
You Forget About the Her Relic, the Crusher? It's a Axe that Deals Magical Damage and it allows Annette use the combat art Dust, it Deals bonus damage to Dragons. You can get it Only in Annette and Gilbert's Paralogue on Azure Moon.
Not just you my friend. For a moment my early game, she held the highest speed on my team, passing Ingrid and tied with Felix but she somehow got Magic screwed. Thankfully the rest of my team either caught up or passed her, and her Magic thankfully got fixed.😅
Lucky Crit It’s actually pretty good, because deals he magic damage (which is carried my promotion bonuses and fiendish blow) and has high defense so he can break through physical units’ defenses during enemy phase rather than having to from a safe distance like normal mages, plus off horse his speed is like 17 which is decent enough to double certain units.
Great Analysis Stevie! Holy Knight Sylvain is actually surprisingly viable since he can heal an ally from far and canto into enemy range- frees up other mages/healers to attack. One thing that might be worth mentioning is that even if a character knows black magic, for instance, they can still be put in a class that uses magic and function well even if they don’t get the double magic usage.
Something to keep in mind, pegasus knights are resistant to magic, so it is worthwhile to unlock Mercedes' bow budding talent and upgrade it enough so she can use magic bows, she can use it well since she has a great magic skill. Magic bow can be extremely useful if she runs out of magic and needs to fight.
I love you analysis I can decide now Dimitri Great Lord Dedue War Master Felix Mortal Savant Ashe Bow Knight Mercedes Gremory Annette Gremory Sylvain Dark Knight Ingrid Falcon Knight
Appreciate the guide, Stevie! Hope you can get to the golden deer soon, would love to hear your thoughts. That being said, I'm suprised you didn't recommend Ashe as a wyvern lord (and I don't mean from the standpoint of "put everyone on a wyvern LOLLLLLL"). His path of fighter/brigand/wyvern rider/wyvern lord is actually pretty natural considering his strength in axes, neutrality in flying, and budding talent in lances. The strength +2/death blow combo can act as a bandaid solution to his strength until the wyvern classes fix the issue almost, if not entirely. His dex actually compliments axes quite well, considering he'll get the power of axes without the accuracy issues associated with them. He can also have the potential to be a viable dodge-tank as well, since his high speed, alert stance (eventually alert stance+), and any avoid boosting batallion adds up quickly (not to mention the avoid +10 from wyvern lord). And, while not an integral part of him, lockpick is still a nice utility since a high move flier can reach chests faster than any other unit and get back to the fight quickly. Even if any chest or side objective is sprawling with enemies, his dodge-tanking can certainly keep him out of trouble, while dishing out considerable damage back as well, making him a good candidate for any solo side mission that might need doing.
Totally agree. Also, Lockpick means that he has more inventory space to carry Bows and Axes at the same time so that you have both close range power or long range pathway clearing/target softening ability to lead into your next turn's movement with. Archers aren't as much of a threat when you can shoot farther than them and/or don't have a chance of missing that mighty axe swing!
A very critical note you neglected to mention about Annette (but bizarrely remembered for Ingrid?) is that her supporting capabilities do not merely end at being a Rally-bot, for she can unlock the full potential of the Relic Weapon of Dominic, the Crusher. It does magic damage (but is only 1-range unlike the Bolt Axe, so that's still an option) and grants bearers of the Crest of Dominic access to the Dust combat art, which not only has a whopping *20* Mt, but as if that were not enough, also inflicts Def -5 and has effectiveness against Dragons. Furthermore, Annette can make use of her Axe skill whether she's a Warlock, Gremory, or Dark Knight, the latter of which I think may be her best class by default simply by virtue of being the highest movement Magic class in the game (and slightly better than Holy Knight). C Lances isn't a terrible detour for her thanks to her neutrality in that skill, and A Riding can be worked on over the course of the game with the help of group tasks. IMO, she's the MVP of this video. . . . I only wish I could say the same for her BFF Mercedes, whose penalties in ALL THREE of Swords Lances, Axes means that not only is she effectively footlocked in this latest iteration of horse (and wyvern) emblem, she can't even fall back on the 6-movement Mortal Savant! She'll be stuck at 4 movement for the entire game until reaching Gremory, which only raises that number by 1. Insult to injury is that the Lamine-specific Equipment nullifies movement-based weaknesses--if only she could actually make use of that! Good thing about that Physic and Fortify access, else it'd be strict Adjutant duty for her. If only her Bow budding talent actually meant anything, other than "a combat art that might technically reduce AS by 1 because of how weight works in this game".
I found dark knight makes annette, super low hp self very safe with canto and she can also safely rally in this class with canto, and doubling was never a problem since she would one shot most of the low resistance enemies
Hmm...in my first/blind run, I just slapped magic weapons on to Mercedes and Annette and my other magic units (I recruited everyone luckily) to give them a spare attack option. I also made their magic ranks s+ to gain the black/white magic +1 and black/white tomefaire skills.
I think there should be more classes, particularly Master classes. What would you like to see (both returning and/or entirely new) if they were to add more through updates or DLC?
I'd love to have a magic using flying class. There were healing flyers in fates, but I always thought that Falcon Knights with their high res and low strength would be amazing with tomes. That would be a really fun fit for Ingrid too if they added it.
A class I would love is a gender neutral sword/brawling master class. it would be great for most characters that normally go down the Swordmaster line.
20:18 I've heard suggestions that Ingrid and Sylvain are the designated Christmas Knights of Three Houses and Ingrid having a custom outfit as a Cavalier really does lend credence to that.
I'd pasted in the wrong icon when I made his sheet, then got confused when I compared the script to it (the original VO said lances, correctly) then I re-recorded VO thinking I was wrong and it was a sword art, then yeah I realized the mistake too late. Always gotta double and triple check everything. The joy of making videos..!
This has been one of the best unit discussions I have seen, my only change would be to replace Felix's recommendation of War Master with Bow Knight. Axes help low strength units hit harder while gauntlets allow low speed units to double, but since Felix is strong in both, he benefits less from them and is better off giving his impressive offense stats a nice range. Also, Gilbert is an honorary Blue Lion and should've been part of this discussion and not a teacher discussion.
In my Blue Lion run, I turned Mercedes into a Holy Knight because I paired her with Ferdinand and I turned Sylvain into a Dark Knight and paired him with Dorothea. Dark and Holy Knights/Mages pairs.
make annette great/fortress knight with her relic weapon and bolt axe you have a tank killing tank but tanking both magical as well as physical attacks
Quick tip for using Ingrid: if you want to go the pegasus knight route but are worried about her str, rank up her axes to B and make her a wyvern rider, then straight back into pegasus knight. She now has 18 strength due to getting Wyvern Rider’s base strength. You now have created the goddess of the time skip. Enjoy!
I made Ingrid a Mortal Savant in my Blue Lions playthrough and was quite satisfied with it. Heck, in my Golden Deer playthrough I even made Hilda one. I'm a sucker for how well it looks on females, while I don't like the look of male Mortal Savant at all, that's also the reason why I made Felix a War Master instead. Ingrid has become a bit of a meme in my circle of friends, as when I started my Blue Lions playthrough, her first level up was a +1 in Strength, Speed, Defense, Resistance and Charme. Add that to her base stats and figure out why my friends and I were laughing hysterically.
That's nothing, what about "Mage"-Hilda, training her to be the cheerleader she always begs you to let her be? Get Bolting and leave it equipped with no intention of actually using it to attack with as you make her a Dancer to support boost with anyone attacking an enemy within 10 spaces while Dance-ing every turn.
I had Annette as a dancer in my run and I really enjoyed it! The extra movement helped get her around, and she was able to be a combination of a rally-bot while still blowing through enemies.
It's been six months but i juste played a route with Mercedes as a sniper with a magic bow and magic abilities and she was disgustingly strong. Except for the last 3 chapters (silver snow) she could double prettry much double anything and by the end game hunter's volley could fix that. She was real fun to use as such. Just pointing it out.
Imo Ingrid is just an enemy phase monster. Combine cautious stance, bishop/gremory for nospheratu, and just put her in a forest. Nothing will ever hit her so long as you wait every player phase. Slow, I know, but man is it a funny way to cheese normal difficulty while you're busy doing something else. It's effective on hard, too, but the battle count limitations put a bit of a damper on it.
Sylvain really feels more like a Great Knight rather than a Dark Knight. Sure he has a good Magic list, but even then his Magic Growth isn't the best. I don't doubt he's good as a Mage, however I had Sylvain as a Great Knight and he tanked almost everything that came his way. Even against magic units he held his own (specifically because he had a lot of hp). Idk just my thoughts.
you left out a really strong point for Annette, no matter what you should always get Annette to B in Axes so she can use Bolt Axe + as a Warlock/Gremory. a 14MT magic weapon with 3 range is so stupidly powerful with her high magic stat in a high magic class. Mercedes should also get B in Bows to use Magic Bow+
Great video as always, the only thing i want to say is that for Sylvain the combo lancefaire and swift strikes is enough to make me fogert the -10% speed growth of the paladin. All things considered there is no real reason for make him a sword master instead of paladin.
... you know, you convinced me I've been, for some reason, been increasing Annette's swords, but she already has that thingy for axes... Why don't I use that... That sounds more fun
My top picks are Dimitri - High Lord, Bow Knight, Sword Master Dedue - Fortress Knight, War Master, Wyvern Lord Felix - War Master, Sniper, Sword Master Ashe - Bow Knight, War Master, Wyvern Lord Mercedes - Gremory, Bishop, Warlock Annete - Falcon Knight, Warlock, Wyvern Lord Sylvain - Wyvern Lord, Paladin, Fortress Knight Ingrid - Falcon Knight, Gremory, Wyvern Lord
No Wyvern Lord recommendation for Ashe? I haven’t even gotten him out of Wyvern Rider yet and he’s absolutely wrecking. The extra growth to HP and Defense give him more survivability, and the extra growth to Strength really helps him get those kills. The -5% to Resistance as a Wyvern Rider doesn’t hurt too much, and goes away once you get to Wyvern Lord anyway. When he does get to Wyvern Lord, the +10% speed to his 50% base growth lends to amazing dodge tank potential. Bow Knight gives extra bow range, but he doesn’t need it since he gets Deadeye (unless you really want that super insane shooting range, which, to be fair, is very nice). He has a natural proficiency in Axes, and his budding talent in Lances complements the C-Rank requirement for Wyvern Lord.
I think the biggest thing for me is knowing what intermediate class to go to. Knowing what skills to take along TO the advanced and master classes per character.
I recently did a run where I made Mercedes a Fortress/Great Knight. It worked surprisingly well. High def AND res, with fairly decent str to still dish out plenty of damage. Obtaining a Bolt Axe was a huge game changer too.
One thing you missed was talking about who would be a good dancer. I personally recommend Ingrid. She's not wasting a crazy offensive ability by becoming utility, she has the magic to heal with physic on turns she's not dancing (which are rare admittedly) and her speed really leans into the dodge tank thing dancers need.
I made my Dedue a mage and recruited Dorothea as a Fortress Knight. They became very very tanky units in defence and resistance, but very bad attackers-they do get to attract all aggro and give solid chip damage for all other units to pick off.
You might want to add class bonus stats to this as well. Gremory loses the free Black Tomefaire still, but gains +2 Magic on class bonus as well as the extra moves and other stats, so it's something to point out.
Hey guys here’s a little tip to get a heroes relic very early (early game spoilers) okay to make this easier play as female Byleth and recruit Sylvain sense he is an automatic recruit as female Byleth then after you fight your first demonic beast because Sylvain’s brother tried to weird the lance of ruin in the main story you will have a cutscene after you defeat him DON’T SKIP IT when Rhea asks for the lance say “no” and Sylvain will say his father has asked for him to take the lance to his father then rhea gives it to him and he keeps it.
I decided to make Annette a dark knight since I gave her a bolt axe+ for that 1-3 range. Being able to canto after attacking with it (twice if I outspeed them) would just be the icing on the cake
I wish I could make catherine into a warmaster... she'd have such a great time whats your prefered blue lion pick for dancer? I made ingrid into a dancer my first playthrough and her versality was amazing but she fell behind on power. Though I afterwards found out the dancer abilities arent class locked so making ingrid do the contest just to pick up the +20 sword avoidance makes her incredibly hard to hit with physical and she already has the resistance to shrug of magic, so she becomes very tough to kill
My favorite thing to do in Three Houses is mess around with peoples non-canon classes. I always have Leonie on my team so in NG+ she's got a good amount of classes mastered. Also reclasses Shamir into a Pegasus Knight the second I got her and she's a Falcon Knight now she is a lord.
This can't be right. I got so stat screwed in my BL run that I felt underlevelled even though I was a couple levels ahead of the chapter. On everybody.
Oh yeah, on Mercedes. She's the ultimate NG+ healer, because of her Fortify+Physic. Flayn's the only other unit with Fortify and even she lacks Physic. Having both on one character makes them one of the best from the get go.
... I suddenly have a desire to make Sylvain solo an (auxiliary) Kingdom town map with Lifetaker, Renewal, and Nosferatu if the first two aren’t enough. It goes with what his dad wants from him in his paralogue, at least!
I made Ingrid a swordmaster before making her a falcon knight. Its something I didnt regret and I never experienced the problems most people do with Ingrids atk
I actually made Mercedes a Great Knight just because I thought she looked great in armor. Because of her high magic resistance, she became an almost immortal killing machine and eventually replaced Dedue post timeskip as he was missing for several chapters and never managed to catch up.
I completed an all Fortress Knights memerun of Blue Lions... Mercedes is actually shockingly good as one, her RES growth coupled with the insane boost to her DEF made it so that she could basically tank everything. I thought she would be my worst but ended up as one of the best. It took her ages to get her as one, considering she’s lacking in both skills needed, but I just thought that was an interesting thing to point out
Lucky Crit Just Normal Classic. I figured the last map would be a hellish ordeal on anything higher but I managed to beat it without Pure Waters or losing anyone (Even though I stocked up). I also made sure everyone had Healing Focus and that saved my life, and seeing Hanneman as a Fortress Knight made me happy beyond belief
I finished my first in GD, now going for maddening for BL. I picked BL cuz of this vid and the previous one. Awesome info and commentary, extremely detailed. Thankss!
Mercedes as bow knight for life! Bow knight move with magic bow+ gives her attack range 5 on top of hitting targets Res is choice. Fiendish blow from mage tree works here too. Who else you gonna have arch, Ashe?
When taking into account DLC classes (which weren’t available while you were making this amazing series) I think that Annette could be made a Dark Flier or a Valkyrie. I went with the Dark Flier in my 2nd playthrough with the BL and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Also, I find weird that the Blue Lions, a House renown for their powerful knights, only have one designated knight while the Golden Deer House and arguably the Black Eagles in Crimson Flower get two each.
I honestly made Mercedes Benz a gremory because it looked good on her. Sylvain had to be a wyvern lord because he was salty Ingrid could fly or something. All went good in the end
My Felix did really well as a dancer! The enemy could pretty much never hit him, so it wasn't a risk to have him run around dancing and then nuking enemies on the enemy phase when they messed with him lol.
Something small of note - Gremory has a +2 class MAG modifier compared to Warlock, so a unit loses only 3 atk with black magic in Gremory over Warlock.
And it closes the gap even more compared to the other Master class magic users, plus being really good in other stats, both in class change bonus and growths. So, you're literally only choosing the cavalry classes for the Canto, and no female unit should ever ever realistically go magic stat focused Mortal Savant, because Gremory's will have you doing the same damage or better with magic weapons and magic Combat Arts while also having more spells and not being restricted to just Swordfaire. Honestly, only thing Mortal Savant offers is being a Master class for females that can equip Gauntlets without restriction and being a magic class that can equip Gauntlets.
Banking on instant death is very poor strategy. ...Ashe as an Assassin being able to rely on high Dex and Spd to use Deadeye to snipe while Stealth prevents him from being targeted as other units distract the enemy is very good strategy. Still, I prefer him as a Wyvern unit so he can get to where he needs to be to unlock stuff and hit switches while also wielding a bow to take out enemy fliers.
it's a tough call when you're looking at numbers to know who or what comes in handy later Ashe and Sylvain don't seem to be doing much and are one shot fairly often Annette has been an mvp (not sure what it stands for) in a lot of my battles i love Mercie but making the most of her can be tricky Felix on the other hand i didn't need to do too much number crunching to know this dude was good the only number i needed to know was the enemies hp which was 0 often in one turn might make Ingrid and Dimitri the fly-ey types but don't know for certain
I keep wanting to use Annette and Ashe, but they kept falling by the wayside on usability. Might try the psuedo-malig knight approach with Annette, she seems typecast into using Bolt Axes anyway.

I would've read this but I accidentally let Gilbert fall. Good thing he still lives in the story but not in gameplay
Really annoying that I can't have Hilda as a War Master

bluesdealer Because it’s just stupid at times. There’s a lot of things that we can change about our characters and make form them into whatever we want... except for gender locked classes. Something that’s COMPLETELY out of our control. At least we can affect growth rates.

LC: PANZER DRAGOON SAGA THE ANIME HOGWARTS STORY, PUT EVERYONE ON A WYVERN
Lol it's not my fault they made Wyvern Lords busted!
Leonie is a canon paladin as well
Lol I get everyone into soldier to start cus reposition is OP
3 houses is very different than all other Fire Emblem games, so don't worry too much about it being your first FE game
I also made Annette a dancer. Really enjoyed it as well. Gambit powerhouse, with magical axes, and supreme versatility.
Just make mercedes a gremory and give her a b rank in bows so she can use magic bow+. That bow uses magic and has 2-3 range.
Indeed, that bow saved her a couple times when pegasus knights bypassed everyone and went straight for her
Yes ‘ , that’s literally what I did lol, it was my third play through and I was like, I really want to use magic bow, so when I saw Mercedes having a bow and being a healer, i knew what must be done
I'm the best healer there is. Also I will bake sweets for you.
You're cool. You only disappointed me when you gave Annette shit for trying to protect you. That was the only moment I felt like slapping you.
You took more lives than you saved in my game
Marianne became better than you when I made her a Holy Knight and gave her Blutgang in my Golden Deer run
This is the reason I romanced you in blue lions run and was the first character I recruited on all other routes
Is it just me or does Mercedes always become super speedy despite her spd growth
Not just you my friend. For a moment my early game, she held the highest speed on my team, passing Ingrid and tied with Felix but she somehow got Magic screwed. Thankfully the rest of my team either caught up or passed her, and her Magic thankfully got fixed.😅
Just you. I made mine a sniper ans she had suprisingly decent strength tho. Still had to rely on Hunter's Volley to double however.
honestly most mages are kinda slow for me. the fastest iv'e seen one is ann at 29.
Lord Dio! My fastest mages were Hubert and Lysithea
Ma rc I played on hard mode every playthrough and am playing maddening now. They stopped doubling by time skip and never doubled on md
Yall are sleeping on Dark Knight Dedue, it’s optimal
LOL
Lucky Crit It’s actually pretty good, because deals he magic damage (which is carried my promotion bonuses and fiendish blow) and has high defense so he can break through physical units’ defenses during enemy phase rather than having to from a safe distance like normal mages, plus off horse his speed is like 17 which is decent enough to double certain units.
@@zander6962 who could you possibly double with 17 speed aside from fortress knights?
alosha4321 Those are the certain units.
@@zander6962 considering every unit in the game can double them, you can't really count them
Great Analysis Stevie!
I love you analysis I can decide now
Dimitri Great Lord
Dedue War Master
Felix Mortal Savant
Ashe Bow Knight
Mercedes Gremory
Annette Gremory
Sylvain Dark Knight
Ingrid Falcon Knight
With all of these mounted classes, how could Marianne not join the Blue Lions?
My Mercedes has a movement of 7👀👀
She isn't riding a horse, flying horse or Wyvern
@@bagelwithcreamcheese Yes, movement boosting items are a thing, but honestly wouldn't they be more effectively used on a unit with Canto?
@@TazTheYellow Maybe but I don't really bother with canto because most of my units don't take any damage from most enemies...
The penalty isn’t that harsh if you aim for C lances. Any further than that, though... yeah...
"Builds that are opposite" ... *Looks at Fortress Knight Bernadetta* Yeah... That actually worked out awkwardly well.
Edelgard and Annette looks like they’re begging for Malig Knight class to return
Magic fliers without question. Dark Flier or Malig Knight I don’t care, just bring it back. It’ll make Ingrid a million times better.
Actually, wasn’t it mentioned somewhere that there would be additional classes added in one of the DLC waves?
A class I would love is a gender neutral sword/brawling master class. it would be great for most characters that normally go down the Swordmaster line.
Alright so I didn't mention this last time but I love your charts, and the editing is so CLEAN. Incredibly aesthetically pleasing.
20:18 I've heard suggestions that Ingrid and Sylvain are the designated Christmas Knights of Three Houses and Ingrid having a custom outfit as a Cavalier really does lend credence to that.
sylvain and ingrid are the cain and abel
This truly is paradise eating a cookie at Barnes n noble and watching a lucky crit video
I was going to comment about the swift strikes mistake but I see you took down the vid for that. Really appreciate the effort! ❤ good vid man
I'd pasted in the wrong icon when I made his sheet, then got confused when I compared the script to it (the original VO said lances, correctly) then I re-recorded VO thinking I was wrong and it was a sword art, then yeah I realized the mistake too late.
Enjoy!
Or, better yet, C and save scum the certification.
I hope you'll do the other houses. (writes down optimal classes)
Black Eagles next? :3 Please DO talk about Mage-Bernadetta! I really think it's underrated due to Rescue, Fimbulvetr and Thoron.
Rescue with her Pass from Budding Talent can lead to some major shenanigans
Wait she gets rescue? I just recruited her, and now I know what I'm doing with her.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Ingrid as a Holy Knight is so fun.
Looking forward to these videos for the rest of the houses!

All things considered there is no real reason for make him a sword master instead of paladin.
... you know, you convinced me
I've been, for some reason, been increasing Annette's swords, but she already has that thingy for axes...
Why don't I use that...
That sounds more fun

Ashe - Bow Knight, War Master, Wyvern Lord
Mercedes - Gremory, Bishop, Warlock
Annete - Falcon Knight, Warlock, Wyvern Lord
Sylvain - Wyvern Lord, Paladin, Fortress Knight
Ingrid - Falcon Knight, Gremory, Wyvern Lord
About to start the video and I already know it’s gonna be a great one :)
You-hoo get a Wyvern and You-hoo get a Wyvern
EVERYBODY GETS A WYVERN
I didn't want to recommend Wyvern Lord for everyone, you can watch the first part of the guide to find out why
Windsweep is pointless on Dimitri. His strength is good enough to OHKO, and his crest makes a counter-attack a nonissue.
Benas on maddening its harder to one round so windsweep is a viable chip move.
@@romdom9406 by the time you get to A swords on Dimitri on all people, you'll be on Part II and you'll have better ways to chip.

I might do a separate guide for dancers!
That is very well done!
I would love it if you made another version with the other factions, but I understand that it would be difficult.
I plan to, I just haven't gotten back to it yet!
I decided to make Annette a dark knight since I gave her a bolt axe+ for that 1-3 range. Being able to canto after attacking with it (twice if I outspeed them) would just be the icing on the cake
I honestly had a blast making Hilda become a warlock than gremory simoly based on all her thunder magic and especially bolting
I wish I could make catherine into a warmaster... she'd have such a great time
whats your prefered blue lion pick for dancer? I made ingrid into a dancer my first playthrough and her versality was amazing but she fell behind on power. Though I afterwards found out the dancer abilities arent class locked so making ingrid do the contest just to pick up the +20 sword avoidance makes her incredibly hard to hit with physical and she already has the resistance to shrug of magic, so she becomes very tough to kill
I personally made Annette my dancer and it is fun
My Swordsmaster Felix really enjoyed the Sword Avoid +20. He became one of those units that could solo a map.
Made my Felix a dancer in maddening blue lion route. It was the best decision ive made so far, though i attack more than dance
i wish there was a guide made by this guy for the other 2 houses.
Even gosh damn Dimitri
Oh yeah, on Mercedes. She's the ultimate NG+ healer, because of her Fortify+Physic. Flayn's the only other unit with Fortify and even she lacks Physic. Having both on one character makes them one of the best from the get go.
... I suddenly have a desire to make Sylvain solo an (auxiliary) Kingdom town map with Lifetaker, Renewal, and Nosferatu if the first two aren’t enough. It goes with what his dad wants from him in his paralogue, at least!
I REALLY wanna do a Wyvern Lord build for Annette now.
I made Ingrid a swordmaster before making her a falcon knight. Its something I didnt regret and I never experienced the problems most people do with Ingrids atk
I do agree with wyvern lord as annette's best class overall, but there's something to be said for crusher dark knight.
Time for the Blue Lion Waifus...i mean Women
Sylvain is the best waifu.
I actually made Mercedes a Great Knight just because I thought she looked great in armor.
Because of her high magic resistance, she became an almost immortal killing machine and eventually replaced Dedue post timeskip as he was missing for several chapters and never managed to catch up.
Definitely should have mentioned Mercedes as Sniper with magic bows.
I completed an all Fortress Knights memerun of Blue Lions...
Mercedes is actually shockingly good as one, her RES growth coupled with the insane boost to her DEF made it so that she could basically tank everything. I thought she would be my worst but ended up as one of the best. It took her ages to get her as one, considering she’s lacking in both skills needed, but I just thought that was an interesting thing to point out
That's really cool. What difficulty did you play on?
Lucky Crit
Just Normal Classic.
Thankss!
I'll be doing the other houses too but it'll take a little while, thanks for watching!
@@lucky_crit Awesome, looking forward for BL and GD. I hope you include some maddening content too. Haven't racked my brain since Awakening.
Mercedes as bow knight for life! Bow knight move with magic bow+ gives her attack range 5 on top of hitting targets Res is choice. Fiendish blow from mage tree works here too. Who else you gonna have arch, Ashe?
Yes, but as a Wyvern unit.
Chloe and Ingrid are quite similar they sit somewhere in the middle on offensive stats but have such ridiculous speed it almost doesn't matter lol.
I've found Ingrid to be a great Valkyrie and Dark Flyer (Mercedes makes a great Valkyrie too)
Gremory Mercedes with Magic Bow+
I honestly made Mercedes Benz a gremory because it looked good on her. Sylvain had to be a wyvern lord because he was salty Ingrid could fly or something. All went good in the end
Thank you, buddy!
My Felix did really well as a dancer! The enemy could pretty much never hit him, so it wasn't a risk to have him run around dancing and then nuking enemies on the enemy phase when they messed with him lol.
Sylvain is a great Wyvern Lord! A great unit as is! ^.^
I'm not biased...
Yeah he definitely is. I just didn't want to have my actual final recommendations for everyone always include Wyvern Lord lol
I like Sylvain as a Wyvern Lord so he can take the skies side by side with Ingrid. They’re great together.

Lucky crit I love u and your Videos.
Thanks so much for tuning in!
I've literally never had any good luck with Ingrid. She makes a good bench warmer tho
Awesome tips and video editing. Will you be doing these videos for the other houses?
Yes, can't give a timeline but I definitely intend to, stay tuned!
@@lucky_crit Just here to say that I'd still appreciate this kind of video for each house! Even if the game has been out for a while now haha
Ingrid is imo the best dancer in blue lions. So that is what i made with her.
I find the continued lack of mention of Assassin disturbing.
There's a reason for that. Assassin is unfortunately a stepping-stone at best.
Banking on instant death is very poor strategy. ...Ashe as an Assassin being able to rely on high Dex and Spd to use Deadeye to snipe while Stealth prevents him from being targeted as other units distract the enemy is very good strategy.
Still, I prefer him as a Wyvern unit so he can get to where he needs to be to unlock stuff and hit switches while also wielding a bow to take out enemy fliers.
it's a tough call when you're looking at numbers to know who or what comes in handy later
Ashe and Sylvain don't seem to be doing much and are one shot fairly often
Annette has been an mvp (not sure what it stands for) in a lot of my battles
i love Mercie but making the most of her can be tricky
Felix on the other hand i didn't need to do too much number crunching to know this dude was good the only number i needed to know was the enemies hp which was 0 often in one turn
might make Ingrid and Dimitri the fly-ey types but don't know for certain
You noted that Ingrid was the only character with two canon classes, but Petra keeps her post timeskip outfit for Assassin and Wyven Knight.
I said only Blue Lions character who does!
Out of curiosity would you ever do a mini part 3 for the Abyssian classes?
I keep wanting to use Annette and Ashe, but they kept falling by the wayside on usability. Might try the psuedo-malig knight approach with Annette, she seems typecast into using Bolt Axes anyway.
