I learned to fly out of there, soloed at sixteen there and back then those trees weren't cut back like that and I never had a problem of course I touched down a lot earlier. May be a side slip?
On a 2,100 ft. runway you floated over most if it. Going around didn’t come to mind? Always get to know the slow speed characteristics of your ship at altitude and practice spot landings at longer strips.
Challenger180 We make the go around decision 400ft prior to the threshold. Late go arounds in the summer are absolute killers. Once u get that far down u might as well just pray u don’t go off the end. This guy should have made that decision when he realized he wasn’t on speed or alt on short final.
I used to fly there before asphalt. I think those who are proficient in landing on turf, are more prepared. Maybe with the new runway, bringing more pilots in, many aren't prepared, or used to landing at Pease!
I’m thinking it’s more the pilot than the airfield. The place has been there for 80+ years and you even had the advantage of the trees wing cut down to 20. Used to be really tall ones there.
Time to pull in there and have a CFI go up with you. You should have gone around instead of landing so far down. Your going to bend metal flying like that.
I commend you for putting a really bad performance on the web for scrutiny, it will help people, maybe even yourself, become a better pilot. As a pilot who did his tailwheel training at 7B3 when it was a turf field I find your lack of a go-around on both of those approaches concerning. You floated over halfway down the runway both times and had to jam the brakes each time to make the exit at the end, nearly going off of the pavement both times. After the second landing your throttle/taxi procedures were way too aggressive and bordered on loss of control also. In my opinion (I am a CFI, CFII, MEI, ATP) you need some serious retraining.

They have 2,100 feet of nicely paved runway. Why didn't you use it???? You only touched down at the absolute last second, no wonder you lost half your tires. 3. Just the fact that you didn't go around is astounding...
It doesn’t suck to land there - if you land on the first half of the damned runway.

it doesn't suck I am 12 and I landed a 172 there np so just no your limitations and your ship.
