Hello sir, can you make a video on having two supervisors in your PhD journey, how one can have two supervisors and the things that come with it? I am a regular watcher of your content and it is beneficial for young aspiring researchers like me. Thank you for taking the initiative and spreading the knowledge through your channel.
@@Drganguli Sir, are students free to choose two supervisors or there prevails a certain criteria under which only one can have more than one supervisor? Moreover, is it necessary to have supervisors of same nationality or they can be from different institutions of two different countries?
@ Well the department chair has to agree that two advisors are actually needed by the student to do the research problem. Sometimes a professor can be added later also. Where the advisor is from depends on the university rules. Some universities allow foreign advisors but most do not. A danger is that the advisors may not concur as to when the student has done enough for PhD or disagree on the research topic
The online PhD interviews are conducted through which platform generally? I am a bit worried about the technical part. Suppose, I want to present my master's thesis briefly in front of the admissions committee. If I fail to get the slides in front of them due to my innocence in this field, what can be the consequences?
Well stoicism is great but it is not perfect. In shrimad Bhagavad Gita and many other Hindu scriptures this is explained in an even better way. It says one is entitled to perform prescribed duties but not entitled to receive fruits of action which essentially frees a person from the sadness and dejection that comes with failure and it also says that one should not assume that he is the cause of the result of the action and this breaks the huge ego and arrogance that might come with a little success.
Thank you so much for such a video sir. How much is the usual workload ( in terms of hours per week approximately) for a phd student in CS field in USA and how many years do they take on average to complete the phd?

PhD neither makes you stoic nor philosophical. I had seen daily wage workers and simple farmers being more stoic than these pseudo self proclaimed intellectuals.
Well farming and army are the most respected professions in India. They are definitely doing work that is far more respectable and admirable but you should understand that even research has some relevance.

Certainly life experiences can be gained in a multitude of ways which would make a person stoic.
Well farming and army are the most respected professions in India. They are definitely doing work that is far more respectable and admirable but you should understand that even research has some relevance.
@ Yes any path which is difficult allows for the growth of character and personality in people and surmounting obstacles can make a person stoic
I have seen more victim mentality challenged farmers and soldier than a PhD holders 😂😂
@ yes those are onerous professions but PhD is a nicer way to become stoic as the degree was developed with this partly in mind
