"Oh, come on Bill... Oh, come on Bill" / Morrissey, thank you so much for this song. Vibrant and energetic music. Long live Morrissey. May you continue to create amazing music like this song for many, many years.
My mom is a 5th Dimension fan. I heard her playing the original. I had no idea this was a cover! I shared this video with her. Now she’s listening to MORRISSEY 🤘🏼
Even though there is a forlorn longing at the heart of the lyrics, the song is still very upbeat and optimistic. Morrissey, as usual, sings like an angel. All of the songs so far released from California Son emanate a strange combination of past and present, creating a nostalgia for a time that never existed. California Son will be a unique gift to music, a totem of what music was and still can be when the right artist taps the well of inspiration.
I am forever in Love and will always be Enamoured with Steven Patrick Morrissey!!! " I wear black on the outside because that is what I feel on the inside, and if I seem a little strange that's because I am" - written by Moz himself and nothing short of Brilliant!!
Really wonderful cover of Laura Nyro's song made famous by The Fifth Dimension. And so touched that Morrissey chose to release it on the day marking the 22nd anniversary of Laura's passing.
I love Nyro's partnership with the 5th Dimension, she was such an integral part of what their sound would be famous for. I never thought Morrissey would pull off this cover so well. I listen to it non stop sometimes.
Given Morrissey's history of slandering other musicians. It is nice to see him show a more positive outlook. I think the only other musician he expressed favor to was Siouxie, and I may not even be remembering that correctly.
Never been a fan of Morrissey but I do like this song and he does a great version of this song. Plus his voice has got even better with age. Great song well done Morrissey.
I didn't know what to think when I heard he was covering this from one of my all-time musical heroines but he just makes it his own - as incongruous as that appears! Wonderful - and the rest of the album's great too!
Such a beautiful song Morrissey your a legend own a good singer like you could pull off this song they are only a few good singer left your definitely one of them
“...the passion eyes of May...” is the most poetic line in this beloved song. Morrissey, this is a superb cover. It captures your sultry baritone enchantingly.
Only a one of a kind genius, revered the world over, like Moz could pull this off. I sure as f couldn't. But I can always fantasize singing this at karaoke bar.
Anyone who followed Morrissey back in the 80's particularly in his time with the Smiths would have never thought they would see the day where he would be working with mainstream artists doing a covers albums of mainly mainstream artists. Lol I think it is good to see the man lighten up in his old and have a bit of fun!
Grelley The Smiths did covers of “Work is a 4 Letter Word” by Cilla Black and “Golden Lights” by Twinkle back in the 80’s, Morrissey has always adored girl groups and “bubblegum pop”
I’m crying. I really love Laura Nyro and this song. I’m also a fan of Morrissey since my teenage days. The fact that Morrissey chose to sing this song as a cover on his new album makes me really happy. I love to be a live. What a beautiful tribute from one of the best composers to one of the best composers of all time. Thank you Morrissey...just thank you.
Crying my fucking eyes out. Such a beautiful rendition of the song. Laura may or not be crying with me. But Sarah B, Bette, and Gil sure must appreciate this homage.
Thank you Moz for sharing and singing this song for us. I would like you to continue sharing those songs that you like so much. Your voice goes perfect with this song. I love you so Moz!!! 💖
Lovely............classic Moz in top shape..............we love you so much ...........thank you for continuing to be a breath of fresh air in a stale and boring music scene that has nothing to offer for anyone except to alienated impressionable youth with yet so much to learn.......
Morrissey's voice and Billie's voice really blend. I love the original by Laura. This is a fabulous version. Thank you Morrissey.
Fifth Dimension version still my favorite❤
@@harveycan5820 The Laura Nero version for me is my favourite to this day.
Damn Billie Joe and Morrisseys voices sound angelic together
This should blasted on every radio stations all day long!
Fp Formation omg totally, this is so true. This song could be liked by everyone

Beautiful version of the song. Morrissey, you are the greatest!
Can't believe how late Laura Nyro used to sing this jewel but Mozz nailed ❤
My mom is a 5th Dimension fan. I heard her playing the original. I had no idea this was a cover! I shared this video with her. Now she’s listening to MORRISSEY 🤘🏼
Fifth Dimension killed this song. The original artist was Laura Nyro. Check out her version.
Yep. Autumn 1969. Your mom was probably in elementary school. I was a 5th grader

Yes. Laura Nyro wrote this song. Her performance is great!
What a great voice Morrissey has. Something else.
Morrissey will ALWAYS be my #1. His voice is BEAUTIFUL! Love you!
Goddamn, Morrissey still has a fantastic singing voice.

@@whoamellie5610 Yeah I agree.
For my is a sad song of one who loves but is not loved.
His vocals. Like wine.
Very inventive....to have these two frontmen....iconic frontmen....to sing this classic from THE FIFTH DIMENSION. BRILLIANT!!!!!
So glad that Morrisey covered this song by Laura Nyro. Laura was one of the greats.

The most ambitious crossover in history
Masterpiece
They are both classy cats 🐈⬛
Laura Nyro was a great artist and singer and so is Morrissey. Such a beautiful cover of great song.
So I’ve gone from thinking that this was a bridge too far yesterday to listening to it on repeat today. Damn you Morrissey! You win again!
You can't go wrong with a genius singer/songwriter in Laura Nyro. She records her song aged 18, Moz at 59. Amazing.
can you believe that we all exist at a time when both of these legends are alive AND collaborating? Like that is luck!
Only one legend

Yes! Someone that knows the original! And... I didn't know that last bit, that's so special.
kdwyer52 didnt realize that. Thoughtful gesture. I had a hip cousin Debbie who in the mid seventies who turned me on to Laura Nyro.
Diidn't know that. Changes the perspective..

Sounds like a man enjoying himself to me. Christ, along with the Manics and Madness, we need him more than ever.
Morrissey's voice is glorious
I’ve been in love with both of these men for years and the fact they made a song together makes me so happy!
I’m so happy people still love this song enough to cover it ❤️❤️
