@@CarlosACabrera1111 Leaded solder melts at about 185dC, lead free at 225dC whereas copper melts at 1085dC. You would need an oxyacetylene torch to solder with copper and the glass would probably break. Also the solder wants to adhere to the copper (but not other materials), good 'wetability' and gives control. Molten copper, who knows.
the copper tape is there so the solder has something to flow to, without solder the glass wouldn't bind together you can change the colour of the the solder with patina after if you wish
It’s so beautiful!
The copper colour looked so pretty! Is there anyway to retain that copper colour?
Maybe with paint or smth like that
yes, you can apply copper patina to a finished piece
I was also going to ask this… can’t she solder w copper wire?

Is the mirror part any different from the stained glass around it? Or is it more susceptible to heat fracturing and such?
My first thought was heat fracture too!
How did you do that so clean 😲
New to this art: protect the mirror face while soldering?
How does the heat of the metal not crack the glass?
❤❤❤❤
First ❤❤❤❤ love your vids
