    Could you do a video on how exercise effects or helps mental health, say commonly for anixety/depression? I know you aren't a psychologist, but maybe some tips that helped you, and also dealing with the fitness industries expectations vs reality, how this can affect your goals and health.

    • @collateral7925
      @collateral7925 7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Joe Rainey I know you're asking daniel, but I'll throw in my experiences with similar issues. I got a burn-out a while back which has a lot of physical components of anxiety and some despression. First find a training method you like and feel comfortable to mess around with. For me doing bodyweight training works really well because I enjoy it and can do it on my own without someone (or the idea of someone) watching and judging in the gym. During exercise, really try to feel your body and muscles, introspect on the movement. If anxiety or other feeling come up during the exercise, accept them and just watch them pass through. If it feels it is blocked, just watch the barrier so to speak. Watch your breath as well as it goes in and out every moment. Those are my two cents

    • @drumprogresserater
      @drumprogresserater 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      AK636
      Hey my anxiety is a lot better now, I actually did a very similar approach to you that helped me, but I still deal with social battles and am very hard in my self still. being introverted naturally doesn't help 😂😎😎, but I guess you can learn it like any other skill. Neuroplasticity and all 😀

      Great video topic Joe. I will give my opinion as I feel it is an important one.

    • @AJ5
      @AJ5 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      The last part of +AK636's comment is the most important. You want to focus on your breathing.
      Learn to breath deeper, and through your stomach.
      All exercises will get your breath going, whether its intensity was as high as HIIT or as low as Yoga. Just breath!
      I had depression after I lost a loved one to cancer AND my long term girlfriend cheated on me at the same time. Was inert gas and a plastic bag away from killing myself. My psychologist had me on even stronger pills but nothing helped me better than conscious breathing.

      Thanks dude yeah I found that too, glad your on the right track now, thats why I do mindfulness meditation. Today was leg day doing barbell squats 90kg(nothing crazy), but was focusing on the breath, I used some of those tips from this channels best friend/nemesis calisthenicmovment. the breath is the most powerul tool, If you want to read about meditation the founder of mindfulness his cds are amazing. jon-kabat-zinn is his name for anyone who is interested about looking into enhancing ur awareness in the present.

    Purchased BBR last year and it's worth it for the information alone, what a bonus that the program is as fun and challenging as I expected to be after I worked through Bodyweight Evolution. Would be good to see a video on fixing imbalances using bodyweight isolation exercises, as the sport tends to be compound movement dominant.

The only reason why I decided to stop on phase 3 (could have continued with harder progressions) is because I wanted to implement more skill based training like what Tom Merricks does. Hi, Daniel. Have you tried lifting your hips at the top of the tricep dips (almost like a reverse plank) to turn this isolation exercise into a compound movement that hits both your tris and your entire posterior chain? It also puts more stress on the long head of your triceps (due to more extension at the shoulder joint). Keep it up

    Hey, nice video! But I'm missing some information here:
    Is this the complete routine and how often per week?
    I think this routine would be a bit hard for beginners or they the whole day.

    0:48 Chin-ups (the way you do it pure strength)
    5:25 rear delt fly (i need to add this)

      TH-cam subscription algorithm is all over the place these days, it's unfortunate for a content creator using the platform since 2010. Glad to have made an impact in your world Bobby, keep working mate.

    You should turn the rings out whenever possible and go past parallel as this works the brachialis.

    Great video. (Bet your southern hemisphere winter's still better than our current summer in the UK (16 degrees today)) Lol, I know, living up to the whingeing pom stereotype.) Amazed how hard dips on the rings are compared to on parallel bars, even with weight added on the PBar version. A video on popping/clicking shoulders would be good. Know a few things to help but they still always come back even when I try various massages for trigger points etc., the effects of which only seem temporary at best, so would be very interested to hear your ideas on this since you have such a level of knowledge (popping when raise my arms overhead.) Thank you.

    This is an amazing video, thanks a lot!! Got a couple questions, whats the recommended frequency? Should we use a progression model of any kind? How much should we repeat this workout before switching to a different program?

  • @emZee1994
    @emZee1994 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    can't wait to see your lower body progress with the deadlifts. you should add some hip thrusts, lunges, sled/prowler work, calve rasies, etc
    can you keep us updated with that? especially how it affects your rings training

    Nice video! I have been doing rings for a while now and one thing I recommend you should try are butterflies. Would love to see a video of these and what you think. They really smoke my chest I am sure you will like them. Each rep I do is 2 second down, 2 second hold and 1 second up.

      Steve Ball yes definitly. In the back mostly. And the abs appears to be more ripped. And I still struggle with the rear delt exercise :D
