I know this video vas posted ages ago, but great job, I feel that Yoshi can benefit from FD as well due to being able to make better use of eggs, and making it harder for opponents to avoid his rundown style gameplay.
Great information. I wish you had put videos of the actual stages you were talking about as it was hard to follow (casual player getting into competitive). Stage selection was definitely part of my down fall when I first got into the competitive scene back when SSBB came out.
As a luigi main I think that platforms are good for countering projectile spam characters because it adds more mixup and escape options, also Luigi struggles with getting juggled. It really depends on matchup but battlefield also helps with covering every option on a platform tech chase with down b.
@ScoutKirby yes and no, platforms make robs nair (imo his best move) that much better. But fd does make his neutral shine. I would say def one of the stadiums is his best stage in any scenario, but for online yes fd. Online projectiles are buffed because lag and combos (nair and fair shenanigans) are nerfed so fd for sure

That’s tricky for me since I’m not the best Roy, but I would say he generallyyy wants platforms just so he can’t get camped as easily and to give him more approach options, but I imagine fd can help Roy’s punish game in a lot of matchups. I would probably just counter pick against your opponents character for Roy, like his best stage should depend on who you’re up against. Definitely check and ask the Roy discord though (haven’t been there but I’m sure someone there would be happy to help lol)
@SonicHaXD thanks! Its just referring to the middle platform on battlefield. The two lower ones on either sides are side platforms, middle one closer to the ceiling is the top one. Its only a thing on battlefield and similar tri-platform layouts. If you want to know what top platform camping is look at a game of wizzrobe vs hbox in melee on dream land, and for ladder combos it’s just smash 4 bayo/zss ko off the top shenanigans (both are still a thing in this game to varying extents)

They both don’t care too much about the stage; especially Mario who gets better combos off small platforms but easier camping on big stages, while dk doesn’t like kalos or bf usually imo cuz camping and combos. Definitely matchup dependent

@shopping cart probably lylat, t&c, and smashville. The platform layouts all work really well with Kirby imo, with lylat making it easy to juggle, gimp, and not get camped. T&c plats also help getting kills and mixing up recovery. Smashville is also pretty good for forcing close range grab/dair tech chase opportunities and stuff. Between fd and bf it’s a toss up but probably fd against close ranges characters and bf against campier ones

@@Dr.Jay. Small Blastzones at the sides (and big down zones i guess) but i don't know what is better for a heavie small stage so he can kill ealierer and survive "lesser" (sry for my bad english) or big stages for longer surviving and killing relatively early
@Lars Fischer big or small depends on the opponents character. For example against samus you want small stages because samus can keep dedede away easily, but against someone like Luigi you would want a bigger stage so you have space.

The best stage for ROB is Town and City, but I think a better neutral is better than making a move better

Shiek is def Town and City, BF and Kalos. Anything that has platforms help you a lot, so anything but FD
