I started modelling again at Christmas gone after a 40 odd year 'hiatus' thanks to Lidls Airfix madness, 2 kits, the Tomahawk and the Tiger 1 starter kits. Since then I've never stopped, I'm doing a kit a week at the minute. I'm retired, I have very limited mobility it fills my days and the results ain't that bad tbh. The only difference now is I've invested in airbrushes, something I couldn't afford back in't day. Seriously in danger of getting back into R/C Scale Ships, the last one I did back in 1983 was a 1/96 HMS Dreadnought scratch build which weighed in with r/c and ballast 22kg, it sank a kayak (accidentally)!
Sank a kayak! I’d count that as an achievement! I too started again after 40 years in January. I find a kind of peace in it I can’t get elsewhere. Thank you for watching my video. Keep up the good work. If you’re a Facebook user maybe you could join my small group, Scale Modelling for Everyone, I’d love to see your work there?
Hi 👋 no real reason other than showing that if you’re on a budget, you can achieve good results. I’m not at all saying primer is a bad idea.. just that you can get a good finish if you need to 👍👍👍
Hi imjust wandering everytime I watch your videos I think how's he built and painted that? I never know when to paint a model. Would it be easier for me to paint parts on the sprue and then stick it together? I think because I have trouble using my hands that painting first would be easier but will there be issues like cement not bonding or something?
@@Ash-ju3xj hello mate. No I’ve never had the parts not stick after painting on the sprue. Painting before cutting out allows you to control the parts much easier.. then once assembled you’d go over with a final thin coat or two to catch the bits that get missed
I'll be using the panel lines one!
Excellent
Some great tips here 🎉
Thank you 🙏
This is my favourite modelling tutorial 🤙👊👏👏
Happy to hear that!
Nice video.. some good weathering tips in here 👌
Thanks 👍

Thank you for sharing; Is there a reason for not using a Primer first?

@@lowrentrick Understood, thank you, excellent informative video.
You are very welcome and thank you for watching 👍
The rizla masking tape looks like a great tip. Will try soon. Took me ages to mask a 1/72 Mercedes g4 body trim line with tamiya tape ..
@@m0rce1 it works really well, I’m always looking for cheaper better ways to do this hobby. Thanks for watching 👍
