Excellent video, I’ve Been making them for firemen and EMS in our city, and they said they are so comfortable To wear on a. 8 hour shift...Thanks Peter
I have never tried crochet. I have not been happy with knitted ear saver results. After learning the SC and DC via TH-cam yesterday, I tried your pattern today. This is SUCH a simple pattern, with lovely results. I will make them for front line workers in beautiful Mexico, where I live. THANK YOU! Subscribed.
Out of all the countless patterns to this I've looked at, this one is BY FAR the simplest, easiest, fastest, and perfect sized one I've seen!! I am making my co-workers several of these (for Christmas) because they use their current ones everyday. They need a variety! Thank you for a great pattern!
I love the way you do the teaching. You have a very pleasant voice. And the step by step instructions are very helpful. Thank you so much for your teaching. Yoly Ramirez, Beaufort, SC
Method: 1) Slipknot 2) 26 chains 3) Two single crochet in first crochet starting second chain 4) Next 23 chains single crochet 5) Last chain -3 single crochet 6) 23 single crochet in last single chain 7) Round 2- one double crochet 8) Next stitch two double crochet 9) Next 23 crochet, one double crochet in each 10) Two double crochet in next 3 stitches 11) Double crochet in next 23 stitches 12) Next single crotchet two double crotchet 13) One more double crotchet in next switch 14) Chain stitch and finish off Hope this is helpful, sorry if I’ve written it a bit confusing
Thank you! A co-worker made me 2 of these (she made 2 for everyone on our unit). She has since retired, good for her! It seems masks are here to stay, so we need some new straps. Bought me some yarn and a #4 hook. I have a bottle of buttons. Let's go!
Thank you, As a man beginning to learn crochet, I am still needing help from my wife to "get" this, but you explain things in a way that makes more sense to me than most (if not all) other tutorials I have viewed. Thanks! And keep the tutorials coming. 🙂
I keep both tails long; using a tapestry needle I used this yarn to attach each of the two buttons. Thanks for sharing both the finished measurement (6" x 1.5") and the complete instructions. Up to now I've been free-forming mine.
Thank you so much for this tutorial it is very well explained and so quick to make upon request . I made one for each member of my family and for everyone who saw it . I really appreciate it 🙏 may god bless you
Hello sir ...it's very useful your video...my ears are very painful for mask using....i am searching a good mask holder....i gone a try...it's very helpful your videos thanks for Saudi Arabia 👍👍👍
It is true they are easy to make. I use a half double crochet based on the chain. I just work half double crochet on both sides of the chain with extra half double crochet on each end. Yours look very nice and sturdy which I think is important so they stay in place and don't stretch too much. For me obtaining the buttons is the hardest part, as well as sewing them on. Thanks for posting this, very helpful.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tutorial. Bless you sweet man. Please take care, keep well and together we are strong!! I found the instructions so easy to understand and follow along too, you have a lovely accent too!! x
Love it! Love it! I made on right along with his video and wore it immediately afterwards. Excellent video Peter. I will seek out anyone who needs this. I wear glasses and it a bit cumbersome with the elastic behind the ears. I made a black to blend in with my hair.
Thank you so much awesome video I'm a newbie to this art of crocheting ... was easy to flow your instructions ... Stay safe and healthy ... God bless ...
Thank you for this pattern I am making these for someone who wears hearing aids so the ear loop masks don't take the hearing aids out when removing the mask.
I have hearing aides and find wearing masks very difficult to fit around them making the aides fall off off causing danger of losing the very expensive aids. This pattern solves the problem.. a BIG thank you!
Hi Lisa, if the button is too small for your O2 tubing to wrap around, I would crochet a little “latch” to each side of the tubing. I hope this works for you! The oxygen tubing can really annoy behind the ears, for sure!
Put on your mask as usual, but instead of hooking it behind your ears, hook one strap of the mask to one button and the other side to the other. The ear saver will go across the back of your head.
Thanks Peter. I am brand new to crocheting. I hope I can duplicate this. What is that little green pin you used to mark your place with called and where do you get them?
You are very kind. Your co workers are blessed to have you.
Excellent video, I’ve Been making them for firemen and EMS in our city, and they said they are so comfortable
To wear on a. 8 hour shift...Thanks Peter
I love it when a crocheter just gets to the point.
Haha we need more men that crochet!
Thank you Peter! The finished product looks great Making this in 2023. My workplace still has a mask mandate.

Great. Front line workers need all support that they can get in this tough time. Thank you

I use oxygen, I wonder if these would work for the oxygen hose (tubing), my ears get very sore from the tubing.
Hi Lisa, if the button is too small for your O2 tubing to wrap around, I would crochet a little “latch” to each side of the tubing. I hope this works for you! The oxygen tubing can really annoy behind the ears, for sure!
This is great!! :-)
Could you put up a photo of how you wear them?
Put on your mask as usual, but instead of hooking it behind your ears, hook one strap of the mask to one button and the other side to the other. The ear saver will go across the back of your head.
Do you have in photo how or where to use this ear mask?

Peter Sprah 👏👏👍👍🙏🙏
Thanks Peter. I am brand new to crocheting. I hope I can duplicate this. What is that little green pin you used to mark your place with called and where do you get them?
It is called stitch marker
Wow, thanks for the idea. How long must it be for men, women and children?
You can adjust size with number of chains at the beginning of ear saver
Will you tell me how to use them. This is the first time I hear about them. Thanks
you put it on the back of your head pull the straps that would normally go behind your ear from the mask and you loop them on the buttons

Is there a written pattern.?
