What does cameo and deep cameo mean?

Cameo is a designation that describes the contrast between the relief(the portrait or picture that is sculpted on the coin) and the fields(the flat surface or background) on a proof coin. Ideally the devices should be frosty and almost white(especially on silver coins), and set against a mirror-like almost black(in the right light) background to achieve a deep or ultra cameo designation. It's technically not a grade but has to do with the look or eye appeal of the coin. Hope that clears thing up.
