  • The potentially deadly risks associated with the dam's failure were known by the city. It's not the only "high-hazard" dam in Illinois or Missouri.

That was not a breach. A spillway overtopped from excessive rain. It did exactly what it was designed to do. This is journalism at its worst. Fear mongering is not acceptable.

Never miss an opportunity to blame the mini ice age ending on mankind.

    1. The dam didn’t fail, it did was it was designed to do to avoid a catastrophic failure.
    2. “…Critics say is nowhere near enough.” But no mention that Congress cut the proposed infrastructure bill funding by 2/3.
    Do better journalists.

They gotta get money to ship to Ukraine from somewhere, might as well be critical infrastructure.

Great reason not to buy/build on a flood plain. They're called that for a reason. THIS is that reason.

Blame the GQP for failing to even consider infrastructure as a problem.

$3billion for safety and prevention of disasters at home. $150billion to a failing war in Ukraine. Ah yes, priorities.

😎🤔🤔💁‍♂Roller dam is fine: tree break is ideal; just trench center of the Water Way, like a Oil Pit change shop, and it will function better. ~
You want it to be: triangle Center Drain ditch thou; // liken too, 2 bridges [(( buttoned up with /catwalk platting/paintable strip surface] up next to each other))\\ ~ will double as // ((Utility Maintenance Access Way))\\, if in correct sealable tubes.

Scraping up the sediment. Road will be open again in a few hours unless scoured.
