Watching this again after I just finished Stone Ocean... I'm crying harder than I was the first time I watched it. I don't think I'm ready for it to be animated. Hell, I'm not even ready for the rest of Vento Aureo.
Now that it's finally animated, I find myself coming back to this wonderful video. It's been a good run for the part 1-6 universe, even with it's ups and downs.

Yes I'm commenting on a 1 year old video. Man, this video really made me feel sad about part 6's ending again. I'm glad Araki moved on to a new universe since we wouldn't have SBR if he didn't, but tbh what I wanted was for part 6 to have a happy ending and not the bittersweet one we have now. I'm just hoping once part 8 wraps up, part 9 would be set back in the OG universe about someone trying to turn the universe back to normal or something. I don't know man, I'm just sad :')
I feel the same exact way, but I think I heard somewhere that Araki might never bring us back to the original universe considering the old universe was abandoned and everybodies souls moved onto the new universe
Well to be honest, I think that this IS a happy ending. The new universe is a universe without pucci. As such, jotaro was able to live with his family because no one was sending stand users at him, jolyne wasn't framed and probably met annasui instead of her first boyfriend, which is why annasui isn't in prison either. Weather report never lost his memories, and hermes still has her sister. This is just what everyone wanted during the part... except for emporio, foo fighters, and us. Imagine what life they would have to live if they survived in the same universe? Hiding from the government, probably within the speedwagon foundation like lisa lisa... doesn't sound like a great life to me. (Though you could say lisa lisa lived fine)
I saw this when I was still reading phantom blood, now I just gotta come back and say this is absolutely beautiful. It's heart wrenching, as the end of stone ocean was, and your art is just gorgeous

Jolyne didn’t deserve what happened to her.She should have had a happy ending like every other protagonist(except for Jonathan).She was thrown in jail because of a crime she didn’t commit,she got framed because a gay priest wanted to avenge DIO,and she was just a bait to Pucci and in the end, she gets KILLED by him!! This video just makes me feel even more bad for jolyne
Akari said that even though her memories might be different, the new universe Jolyne has the same heart and love. I like to think it's still the same soul, and she got her happy ending. On the other hand F.F. was the purest and since Pucci never existed she never existed and that's just unfair

Stone Ocean is one of my favorite parts and Jolyne is just badass, I think most people dislike SO because is the part where you have to read between lines to get the bigger picture and just shows how Araki can be a great writer. Amazing animation! gotta re read SBR next.

Thank you for introducing me to Kimya Dawson 6 years ago. Your designs are incredible and the choice of imagery still makes me insane. That snail on Weather Report is my favorite little detail.
