I've heard of the Toyota Hiace , and I've seen a few on TH-cam, but I've never seen one in person. For some reason, they were never sold in the United States.
Jason Carpp the hiace is a common vehicle in Asia and Africa. suprised to hear that not even one or two made its way to US.
We *did* get a Toyota van in the USA, it was the TownAce, or the LiteAce. I don't know which. It was simply called the Toyota Van, and it was available between 1984 and 1990.
That was the mini version of the hiace. Well sort of. vans are a big thing in japan. The toyota hiace and the nissan caravan are the 2 most favorite vans to come out of japan
Indeed. We got Nissan Van, and then the Mitsubishi Van (called the Delica for some markets). I got to drive the Delica. Ours was nothing more than a cargo van, with only two seats for the driver and front passenger. But I actually liked driving it.

Why do he use the horn so much
You can't drive in Sri Lankan roads without a horn. Bikes and Tuktuks come out of nowhere to ruin your day.

You have to drive here to understand. We sort of know from what places tuktuks, kids, bikes might suddenly come. If not its anticipation. The horn saves life here.
