"Son io" is one of the most powerful dramatic moments in all of opera. In one of the live recordings Callas holds the "i" syllable seemingly forever until you hear gasps from the audience.
Fantastic pictures (there just has to be film footage!?), and wonderful remastering. The EMI remastering I am familiar with makes Callas's middle voice sound muffled. It's forward-placed and potent here.
