It was intended to be a promotional special. All of the local stations that scheduled "THE MAGILLA GORILLA SHOW" in syndication presented this at the end of December 1963, just before Magilla's debut in January 1964. It also promoted the Hanna-Barbera studio as well.

This was shown on most local stations in December 1963- about a week before the weekly "MAGILLA GORILLA SHOW" began in January 1964.
