True save scumming involves having the file folder where your save games are saved open in the background, and save copies of the file before major events or declarations and name them appropriately so you can effectively use load and save functions. I use git personally specifically for this scenario, it's always open in the background. A few clicks, and I have properly named timestamp of the campaign, no need to keep 2 folders open all the time. Tho that's already new level of savescumming, PDX unlimiter should be enough in most cases
So I will sometimes savescum inheriting PUs and it actually does kinda work that way. I had a Bohemia game with Brandenburg, Saxony, Thungria, Poland, Lithuania, Castile, Burgundy, Hungary and Austria all under PU. When my ruler died the first time i inherited Brandenburg and Lithuania, I save scummed and the next time it was only Brandenburg. Reset again and next time it was Castile and Hungary. Personally I always go back when i inherited burgundy because I like to keep them around
Huh, that's weird. I remember I accidentally inherited Austria, tried to savescum it but it just didn't work, I always inherited it no matter what. My guess is that it's possible to savescum it if the annexation chance changes, maybe the game recalculates the outcome idk
@@CoolBonobo yeah I’m not sure because I know it’s predetermined on ruler. That’s why I say kinda, cause I’m not really sure what determines it. I previously thought that it just predetermined if you WILL inherit tags, like it may not be the same one but you will be inheriting
you can savescum inheritances a little but only if you happen to have a much low dip rep number at the moment your ruler died. In short Overextension impacts dip rep which influence the inheritance chance so inheriting at a moment with >100% OE gives less chances to inherit than at 0% OE. (IIRC each +1 dip rep adds +1% to inherit)
Oh no, oh no my game has crashed, what ever could have caused such inexplicable event to ocurr. -Me 0.00001seconds after burgundy decided to pick that 0.5% chance option to remain burgundian.
You can actually do it in theory with hex editor. You'll need to also modify save checksum tho so it doesn't become normal save, and idk if it's possible

Paradox Unlimited is cheating, go copy paste the save manually inside your documents into a 19GB file called 'Savescums' like a real ironman enjoyer.

Imo the biggest advantage pdx unlimiter has is that you have one loading screen less when reloading.
