I hope this is of some small encouragement to somebody. One day I found my daughter crying in the bedroom. She told me she was non-binary and had changed her name to something more masculine. She believed we were going to throw her out onto the street. We sat her down, had a massive cuddle and told her the truth. Although we would never change on Biblical truth, we would always love her and always be there for her. There were a lot of tears (I think of relief on her behalf). The next few months were not fun. My daughter would attend a weekly appointment with the school counsellor who could encourage her in her non-binary beliefs and point her to ‘helpful’ LGB groups. We obviously couldn’t point her in the other direction because the enemy has had that labelled as illegal CT. I don't know how long behind the scenes we prayed for her, months if not a year or more. We admitted to the Lord we would never attend ceremonies or use her pronouns. We could not become part of the untruth that was against His Truth. And then, one day, she stood in the doorway to the lounge and told us she had a boyfriend. That came out the blue! We had to put the brakes on our excitement at what the Lord had done. There was no mention of LGB from us, we just carried on like a slightly better than normal day (though were sooo excited). We met the lad, nice fella, training to be a copper. A year later I was putting out the rubbish and found all my daughters LGB stuff (she must have hidden in her room) thrown in the bin. I have never mentioned it to her, but I was so happy. There is no doubt the Lord worked through this situation. We did nothing except pray and remain faithfully to the Truth. We are also witnessing God moving in the lives of our friends and there child who has been in a long term LGB relationship. What started as a family separated is turning into family who visited church together. Again there was no compromise on faith, just prayer and a massive move by the Spirit. Every battle is different but there is GREAT hope in Christ. Be encouraged if you are in a similar situation and God bless.

There's a very good reason "point her in the other direction" is illegal almost everywhere on the planet. Not only does it not work, it actually makes problems far worse.
Why do you want your child to conform to this world? Yet you deny your child's God given identity in favor of their body?
Think of it this way: when you call someone, do you speak to the person or their genitals or DNA? That "person" your child has does not match the body this broken world created. They need to change their body and expression to match what God intended but this world would not provide.
You want to witness God truly moving? Use your child's correct pronoun. Tell them they are saved because all you need is faith and trust.

    • @r-platt
      @r-platt 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

BTW that's called a purge. Your child can't become a different person any more than a bald man can will his hair to grow.
They will begin collecting things again.
Be compassionate and accepting. Teach them to have a good heart because THAT is what Jesus will judge, not their body.

My daughter left her husband of 14 years to marry a woman. We were blindsided! She never explained only expected we line up with her choices. No matter how much I told her we loved her no matter her choices, she would say “it doesn’t feel like love” thankfully she did not invite us to her wedding, we would have declined. Since her wedding she has only grown in her hostility towards us, and it is heartbreaking. 💔 she left a Bible teaching church to join a “fun” church, that sadly validates her lifestyle. She has told me more than once that she is “led by the Holy Spirit” I pray for her, and our family, including myself… John 16:8-11

We've explained to her that we love her but that is not something we can do. I can't imagine having to make that decision, to not be able to give my own daughter away at her wedding. That must be very painful, because you know she just can't understand, in the state she's in now. I can't honestly say that I could make the stand to not even go. Not trying to say that you should, but it must be very hard. That is clearly a very very difficult situation to navigate. But may I say here we are on TH-cam. TH-cam promotes finances, supports and lobbies for these very things and here we are making them rich. So at least we can see their selective hypocrisy. By being on TH-cam and Facebook and by having Netflix and Amazon prime, we finance, support, promote, pay for the lobbying that these companies do to promote these ungodly things. @user-mp5nt4nd3n I don't blame anyone for not voting for Donald Trump lol. When it comes to politics, at least in 2024, it's all about voting for the lesser of the two evils I guess. As a Christian it's hard to vote for anyone who wants to make it legal to murder babies in the womb which means I'm just as conflicted about voting for Biden as I am Trump. I really hate the state of American politics at the moment...

Totally agree, 100%. It is quite clear: LOVE consists first and last of helping anyone come closer to God. There is no other security in life in the end; all our 'closenesses' are through God. As usual, when a person starts delving into what is devious, it becomes complicated. As Scott Peck said: when you are in the presence of a 'person of the lie' (in his book People of the Lie), you feel confused! Yes! Not only is there only really security with God, there is also only: truth, reality, integrity, clarity, and so on, with Him. We....hold fast to His Word; He gives us stability, happiness, joy. It is really very simple; and when there is deviation, there is a morass - misery, in the end. Therefore, it is quite clear that to condone this relationship, is not charitable; it is encouraging that person to be lost. God's guidance encompasses every element of our lives, and this issue in question is a most serious one. I do not see how any Christian could disagree, unless their 'Christianity' is just lip service. To be a true Christian requires courage. That is why the C of E is collapsing - it has no backbone, it is weak.

I may find I am wrong, but, it seems to me Pastor Begg might just be opening a dangerous door that qualifies current societal beliefs in love and caring over biblical teaching, and ignoring the context and the act of implying consent to what is an un repented sin. We have all sinned, I really do that, and I have no right to condemn others, and I hope I am not, but surely it is wrong to bless a sin. Just because this sin is a current society issue. Once you do get that, what about all the other sins that mankind can do? Are these to be blessed and consented to as well? This then becomes modification of scripture to suit current society ideas. We have to choose. Surely, this started to happen in ancient churches where Apostles had to correct? Or are we now saying we are superior and our way is better. Sounds like rebellion to me. Alistair Begg going off the Rails has been very Painful indeed, it came as a very nasty Shock!. For many years he has been one of the very best Pastors there is, a once Superb Teacher, so to see him go off the Rails like this, Hurt. The Church has come crashing down around my ears again basically.
Now, there is not even one shred of doubt, no, not one, in my mind that Alistair Begg is known fully to Christ, is in the Body of Christ, and is Eternally Saved by Christ Crucified and Risen, so God forbid anyone thinks I am calling him "unsaved" here, for I am not, he is Saved. Period.
Basically, Begg's teaching here, in that it tells someone to be Unequally Yoked with an Unbeliever in Direct Defiance of Second Corinthians Chapter 6, and to Damage their Witness by being seen to collude (by being present, se would be Colluding) with the Works of Darkness, and to support a False Marriage that makes an Unlawful and Blasphemous Mockery of God's Sacred Institution of Marriage (And it Pains me deeply to have to admit it is one I will never be blessed with, as I am Biblically Unqualified to Marry as I am not able to Provide for a wife Financially, and thus remain Single and Celibate!) which is clearly Stated by the 1646 Westminster Confession to be Purely for One Reformed Man and One Reformed Woman, for the Purpose of Lawful Procreation, and thus, in Mocking Marriage, Mocks God!, can at best, only be Described as Severe and Disqualifying Error, and at Worst, and some, such as Protestia, have Indeed used the H Word! as Heresy! It is that Erroneous.
Sadly, Tragically, as a Pastor has to be Blameless, as Per 1st Timothy and the Epistle to Titus, and Begg is now to be Blamed, for an Erroneous Teaching that has Defiled the Pulpit by telling someone to support a False Marriage, and thus False Worship in Utter Defiance of the 1647 Westminster Larger Catechism and of the Second Commandment, by being Present, it is my view that Begg has Disqualified himself from Ministry going Forward.
Now, this will seem Strict, but, bare in mind, were I a Pastor, and not just common Laity, and I committed an Error *this* Severe, I would expect to be Permanently Excommunicated and Shunned to the Uttermost forevermore on the Spot! I am being far more merciful on Alistair, given his many years of Wonderful Teaching and Honouring of the Thrice Holy God and the Written word of God in the Bible, than I would ever be upon Myself here!
As a Pastor has the Grave Task of Shepherding the Souls of His Flock in all Truth, Blamelessness and Verity in the Light of Christ, there is just no room for a Pastor to make an error *this* Severe and Continue to be a Pastor.
Ultimately, it is up to the Elders of his Church what is to be done, but Personally, I am of the View that he should be made to Publicly Retract that Statement, Publicly Repent of his Sin, then, once one of the Elders has given a Statement that Christians *cannot* attend False Weddings as to do so is to Engage in False Worship, he is to be thanked for his many Years of Good Service to the Church, before then being Defrocked!
It is my view he should be Defrocked of all Authority, as, again, his teaching here is so Erroneous that some have indeed called it Heresy, it is Severe and Disqualifying at best in My Opinion, especially given the Outrage it has caused in Reformed Christian Circles, which is leading to the Name of God being Blasphemed by Non Christian Circles, and he needs to be returned, Permanently, to common Laity, he needs to be Forbidden from even being a Lay Reader in Future and must be Restricted to Laity and placed under an Accountability Partner for the rest of his Days. I also feel he needs to be Placed in a Period of Probation where, while he can still attend the Church, the Table of the Lord's Supper is to be Temporarily fenced off to him.
That is just how Severe an Error this is, I genuinely think, although, as only mere common Laity, and one of Feeble Mind and Slow Wit, I fully accept I could be terribly Wrong, that it Eternally Disqualifies him from Ministry going forward.
God's Blessing, Love, Grace and Peace upon You all.

Sounds to me that you have been idolising Alistair Begg and others. If some-one like him making a mistake ( as everyone who is human will from time to time) brings "the church crashing down around my ears, again" then you clearly also have a naively optimistic and unrealistic view of the church. Hold to Christ and His teaching and that of the Apostles, test everyone else's teaching against scripture, as Rev Brett says, because even the best will get it wrong sometimes. And, as the old Christian joke goes, if you ever find a perfect Church for their sake don't join it. Think about it, kindly meant!

This is more than a Mistake however, getting the Names of the Apostles Mixed up is a Mistake, asking someone to Defy God is a disqualifying Error, for it has lead to him being Blamed for Heresy in some Circles, such as on Protestia.
"The Church Crashing Down" is my way of saying "everything I knew just collapsed" Yes, I am a Bit Naïve, I accept that, I am Feeble Minded, I am Slow Witted, and I am Developmentally Delayed, this leaves me Naïve (it also renders me, tragically, Unacceptable to some Denominations even within the One, True, Reformed, Protestant, Church) , but not Optimistic, I do well and truly Believe that we are in the Great Falling Away that was Prophesied by Paul in 2nd Thessalonians, I just never thought Begg would fall into such Severe Error! Although, given the Role he played in that Golf Movie, it now appears that, to go back to the "Church Crashing down" Allegory, the Cracks have possibly been appearing in the Belfry for some time...
Please be aware that, like many here, I am Ex Mainstream Church of England, I am still very Hurt at the Total Apostasy of the General Synod, which has lead to me Fleeing from the Church in Genuine Fear of the Wrath of God! that is why I often refer to it, without Joking, as the "Cult of England" , as I do now view them as a Non-Reformed, Non-Christian, Apostate and Ichabod Cult. As a Result, when a Once Superb Teacher falls so badly, it Really Hurts as it reminds me of the Fall of Canterbury, and it does mean I can over-React, again, often from actual and genuine Fear of the Wrath of God. A Tendency to go "Blood, Thunder, Hell, Fire and Brimstone" over the Slightest thing is a Fault I suffer with and I do need Help with it, I openly admit that.
Fear Not, I am very much Sola Scriptura, Scripture First, and I test Everything against not only the Scripture, but also the 1646 Westminster Confession, and Several Reformed Catechisms as Well! Christ, Apostles, Rest of Scripture, Confession, Catechisms, the whole Counsel of God.
True, even the best go Wrong, even John MacArthur has Dropped some absolute Big Ben Sized Clangers here and there over the Years, and there is a very Hotly Disputed Question on if his Error regarding the MOTB is Disqualifying, Even Spurgeon got it Wrong Occasionally as well! ... but... this is a bit worse than Wrong, this, Filtered through the 1646 Westminster Confession and the 1647 Westminster Larger Catechism, is Disqualifying, for it is asking someone to Defy God :(
Indeed, If I ever find the Perfect Church, I would stay far away, as I would utterly Ruin it, I have far too much Sin and Baggage to ever attend!
I thank you for the Loving Rebuke, it has exposed a Subconscious Error that I was not aware of, and was thus Needed.

The trans woman is a woman in mind, heart and soul. That's why she has to change her body. This world lies after all. The soul cannot lie.
God knows the body but he sees and judges the heart. So the marriage IS between a man and woman before God, right?
Just PLEASE consider that most preachers, pastors, and politicians know as much about trans people as you do. As a result they focus on the wrong problems and judge where healing is needed. You cannot imagine the pain and terror many of us feel right now. Do nothing and dysphoria will eventually shatter the mind. Then the soul slowly dissolves into chaos. Hell is a vacation resort.
Yet Christians and conservatives are telling us to stay in the closet. Fixing our dysphoria is wrong because it requires changing the body. There is no other option.
Closets are dark, cold, lonely, terrifying, and painful places to live. There is no love when you're stuck in a closet. You hate yourself because there's nobody else inside the closet to blame. Your world slowly contracts as you are pulled into yourself.

Yes, Christian’s are called to be the light of the world and to not lose our salt (what makes us the light of- the Holy Spirit). We are not called to “bridge” any relationship with sinners who reject Christ and His work on the cross.
Christians will be persecuted, Revelation is being played out and there will be strong delusion and many will be apostate - apostate can never return to Christ.
We have to count the cost of following Jesus Christ and love HIM more than life itself (for we are called to deny self etc).
What is love? The world determines love is to be accepting - we cannot accept sinners ways. We preach Truth which frees them from the second death IF they are humble and receive the seed of truth. We have to walk in Truth and in the righteous Spirit of God, and. It seek to please man.

    Colossians 3 come to mind
Living as Those Made Alive in Christ
1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your a life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. b 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
12Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

This is hard because there are many examples of unbiblical unions most people would have no qualms about going to the wedding: two people divorced not on biblical grounds, someone of faith marrying someone who does not believe or marrying someone in a religion that is false. I took his advice as personal and specific to that elderly lady, not as a universal recommendation for all believers. He was clear the grandma made her position clear and her grandson was aware of how she felt. Would her witness to him be stronger by her absence or by her appearance? Tough in a lot of cases. One of my late wife’s best friends was a lesbian getting married. We were the only kind Christians she knew. She wanted me to read at her wedding, but I explained I couldn’t be in the wedding party or ceremony but I would attend. We were close enough that my decision was respected. Maybe for another person it would have ended friendship or I wouldn’t have attended all together. This is a tough question that each Christian and pastor will have to work out with fear and trembling

Dear brother, I have been following your vlogs for around a year now and support your principled step away from the C of E and your efforts to take the bold risk of planting a new church. I was saddened to hear how Calvin was treated - and more to the point, the scriptures were treated. I am saddened that another Aussie has allegedly dealt badly with that situation in a public way.
However in this video I think you've overstepped the mark in several respects, and you've almost misused your platform. Let me lay out my meaning briefly.
    1. Listening to Begg, a veteran in the scriptures, he is inherently humble and wise (and reflects the truth of James 3:17). But you have boldly condemned this good brother quite stridently and without a great deal of humility and shallow information and what appears to be slight analysis. Do you see how he offers his advice to this woman quite tentatively and acknowledges that others might disagree and that each must make up his or her own mind and form his own conviction. Grace and humility is expressed. But you have judged and condemned your vastly more studied and experienced brother quickly and moralistically.
    2. Begg is very careful to nuance his advice before he offers his suggestions to this woman (and he does that as suggestions, not law). But in this video, you don't seem to have even recognised at all the careful way he does that before giving his advice, or sought to understand or reflect on why or what perhaps are the implications of the nuance he explains. You're on your high horse. Could he perhaps have reflected more deeply on the nature of the circumstance and the freedoms that are available to God's people in the scriptures? He is in no way advocating LGBTQi causes, either in this situation or in any of this history to my knowledge. Why do you so quickly assume he has changed colours. Was there any pause to give him the benefit of the doubt, given his enormous track record and credentials?
    3. You don't appear to have appreciated the subtleties of the fact that it is not a Christian wedding here or purporting to be so. That changes things greatly. These are unbelievers living unbelieving lives. Who are we to judge outsiders by our words or acts of judgment? Should we not rather judge only those who are within the Christian community? (1 Cor 5:12). They are not pretending to be Christian. If they were it would be a completely different story and your own advice would then come into play, I think.
    4. Have you considered the actions of Jesus in Matt 9:10-17 (and so Mark 2:15ff and Luke 5:29ff)? Was Jesus affirming that unbelieving immoral community by eating with them?. The Pharisees etc certainly felt he was, but he gives a very different response. He has other priorities in play. Reflect on v12.
    5. Alistair is a wonderfully faithful brother with a long track record of faithfulness and a high and well deserved reputation. But with what appears to be just a shallow analysis, and assuming the worst of him rather than asking closer questions as to what is going on in his thinking (have you reached out to him about it all?), you have publicly condemned him and some of your own audience who hold you in high regard will now see him as badly tainted and suspect him land discourage others about him. You've injured, as a young minister with far less experience and, dare I say, less insight, the reputation of one of the greats of our current age. Is this slander?
    6. Finally, I urge you to meditate carefully on Matt 7:1-5. Where would a deep conviction of the truth of God's word here on Jesus' lips lead us in our relationships with one another? How would we deal with one another if we really believed this to be true? Marry that with Matt 18:21ff and remember that one day you and each one of us will be thoroughly exposed.
The wisdom that comes from heaven is described in more detail in James 3:17-18. The wisdom of the world is earthly, unspiritual and demonic and is driven by other motives - James 3:14-16.
Brother, with power (your platform and audience) comes great responsibility! We who teach will be judged more strictly. James 3:1. So I urge you to greater care and humility. Soap boxes win worldly minded people easily, but do not in any way serve the kingdom of God. Better to teach your audience to think carefully, humbly and deeply about the scriptures.
More can be said. But I speak boldly and strongly as one Anglican pastor to another - and one Aussie to another. I speak this way because it seems to be commensurate with the boldness and public nature of your own assertions against this good brother.
I mean you no ill. I hope you get a sausage sandwich and a laminton on Australia Day.

This is a difficult area. Years ago my wife was delivering Bibles to a prison and met a very dignified lady in the waiting room. She was going to visit her son who was a convicted prisoner. That doesn’t mean that she approved the crime or disapproved of the sentence. Similarly, before I became a Christian, Jesus visited me and brought me out of darkness and into his marvellous light. Even though I still sin, He still visits me and gives me His in dwelling Holy Spirit. It does not mean that He approves of my sin.

Thank you for pointing this out. I think that Brett is probably right. All I am saying is that Alistair Begg was trying to deal with a difficult situation that many are facing today.@@tracycroll4325

Leviticus chapter 20, verse 13 reads: “If a man has intercourse with a man as with a woman, both commit an abomination. They must be put to death.”
The God of the Bible HATES so called homosexual or trans "weddings/unions/relationships"! Those who practice these SINFUL and WICKED things will NEVER enter heaven.

Hi brother, are you basing your disagreement on that one verse? I think that weakens your position. Also the 'just cause' point is also a weak one because the 'just cause' is surely the same as the 'legal impediment' ie are they legally able to marry [not a close relative; not under age; not already married]. It isn't for anyone to get up and say they disagree with the marriage because of their own personal views. You could get anyone standing up and saying 'I don't think they are suitable' or any other reason. Should the marriage ceremony stop because of that? The granny has told the grandson she doesn't believe the marriage is a marriage, so by going she isn't showing approval, she is going for another reason, she loves her grandson. I have to say it is not an easy one to decide and my heart goes out to those who have been put in a similar situation.

I am disappointed, but not surprised. Christianity has been going downhill for a long time. I guess that is why God had to send Mohammud.

Transgender people are nothing whatever to do with homosexual people. Homosexuality is a natural human 'sexuality'. It defines the sexual preference to which one is erotically attracted. Likewise with 'heterosexuality': and both terms, incidentally, were unknown to scriptural authoprs; deriving from the 19th-Century. To which 'sexuality' is a transgender person attracted? Transgenderism is not a 'sexuality'. For homosexual people, the best thing to do is to eschew the 'offerings' of the Church; and simply register a Civil Partnership. After forty years of sharing life together, my atheist partner and I did this last April, in the presence of just two friends as witnesses (not fuss!) and with us aged 71 and 77. For me, I asked God's blessing: because, fortunately, blessings exist because God exists: not because 'priests' do. This means that I - a homosexual Christian - attended a "gay wedding".

There is *no such thing* as a Homosexual Christian! Christian Ex (non-Active) Homosexuals like Brother Beckett Cook, yes, but Not Christian Homosexuals (Active)! That goes utterly against Scripture!
The Apostle Paul is Clear as the Grave, those who are Effeminate and those who abuse themselves with mankind (Greek-Arsenokotai- Translation- Man Bed- Translation- Homosexuality) will in *no Wise* enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless they Repent! 1st Corinthians Chapter 6. You are Living in Sin!
Repent, believe the Gospel, be Saved, Separate and become Single and Celibate, as did Brother Beckett Cook!

Ok, I kind of understand the differentiation you are trying to make but I do not agree with it.
However, at the end of the day we will all have to answer to God for the decisions we have made contrary to His clearly expressed will. Christians will have had the punishment for those sinful decisions carried by Christ. But that does not mean we 'should sin the more that grace may abound' Paul to the Romans. Ask yourself whether God would be pleased with all that you have done with your life. Even better, ask God Himself

Jesus Christ disagrees with you. He created everyone heterosexual. You have to choose to be perverted, and Christ says that homosexuality is perversion, not an "orientation", and that those who engage in it will not inherit the Kingdom of God. God will "eschew" all in the lgbtq+ community into hell.

Sorry. Anyone who claims to be a Christian should be putting off sin not deliberately living and walking in it. God says gay relationships are sin - so I have to question your claim to be a Christian. How can anyone claiming to be a Christian deliberately ignore the Word of God ? The word of God is very clear about sexual sin - whether it be adultery, fornication or same sex relationships.
This is not today one can’t find forgiveness from God - but to receive forgiveness one has to confess the sin and repent of it - that means turning away from it - not deliberately continuing to live. It.

Jesus Christ disagrees with you. He created everyone heterosexual. One must choose to be homosexual, and Christ says that homosexuality is unnatural, perverted, and an abomination in His sight. He also says that those who engage in it will not inherit the Kingdom of God. That includes the entire lgbtq+ community. You might "eschew" the church, but Christ will eschew all those who engage in lgbtq+ abominations into the lake of fire.
