This I such a crafty tool and so much fun to make matching lace strap for the drawstrings on bags. You can get a lot of lace on a 6” square piece of the leather. The key is having a large enough hole to get it started . It took me a few tries to realize I was starting too small to get the first cut.
One of these days I will do this (I already have the tool) I just keep talking myself out of it. You may not know this but why is it on the inside and not the outside of the leather.

Yup the comfortable hole diameter I think is 1 inch at least, if it is too small or not round enough that'd be harder :)

Just play with it on scraps it doesn't bite lol. as for the other question, I am not sure I understand what you mean!
