I've been loading on a single stage for years and decided to go with a Lee Loadmaster. Got the press only since I had so many parts already and spent the morning puttin it on the bench while playing your video. You sir, are a lifesaver! With your video I got everything installed without much hassle or complication at all. Can't thank you enough for a great instructional video.

I've been relaoding for 40 years and am now looking over all the new technology. Loadmaster seems to be as good as any. I'm into CAS and need to maximize volume.
Great suggestion to use separate decapping die. Lubrication details and overall details with clear explanations and camera work is outstanding. Great for beginners and veterans. Most people don't realize this kind of detaled maintenance is necessary, and get ticked off at the machine and manufacturer.

I just got my Lee Loadmaster and have been struggling to get it set up. The instructions that came with it are vague and indirect and other videos make assumptions about what the user already know OR it goes into such minute detail that is is equally as useless, UNTIL NOW, GREAT JOB! You should be Payed By Lee for these video's. My press came with no instruction manual, which really bothered me. Because of that and not set up with a 223 die set I decided that I would check the press with 45 ACP set up instead see'in how it was me to blow up and no one else. Boy oh Boy and Holy ....!!

I have watched tons of videos on setting up the Loadmaster including the ones on the Lee site and have seen all manner of suggestions for improving the press and I have to say your video was probably the most clear and to the point that I have seen. I have a love hate relationship with my Loadmaster. It does a great job on 45 acp, a good job on 38 special, and drives me to drink with 9mm. I threw away the chain and replaced it with a spring connected to the frame. Even Lee has some powder dispensers with springs. Thanks for a great video, I will now go see part 2. Keep on keeping on.

Just wanted to thank you very much for this video. Now I understand a lot about the Lee loadmaster which I just received, the best thing was your process in installing the case feeder assembly. I had tried for 2 days to get that thing adjusted oh, watch the two other videos that were of no help, but in 10 minutes of watching your installation process and I was done and successful. GunBlue490 I was amazed at how smooth your Loadmaster was when you brought your lever into contact with the indexer and pushed it in. Mine was always more along the lines of needing a bit of a hit. After watching this I searched out a pointed whetstone that I had bought some months back from Dan's Whetstone. Looking at the shaft of the indexer there was obvious scoring so I've just worked the shaft and the channel over and boy were there some nasty burrs. I've now got it all cleaned up and it sure is working a whole lot smoother. Thanks again for the education my brother (my older brother is a '49er and a retired teacher. Whodathunk?).

I know this is a year later but... Sir, this was an incredible explanation of this press set up! Just what I needed to see to confirm my suspicions of complaints. I load on a T7 turret ( which has been great for me) but have recently started up with 45acp and have been looking into a progressive set that was realistically affordable, so thank you! I'm also very thankful that Highboy 76 told me to definitely check you out.

Very good tutorial. I saw poor reviews of the Lee progressive press but after watching this maybe folks don't get it set up properly. Watching this renewed my interest. I was looking at Dillon presses at the gun shop today and they start at twice the price of the Lee which kinda dampens my interest. For that kind of money I'd stick with my turret press. I agree with Jason, maybe Lee should buy this tutorial from you.

Excellent presentation. Vibration during sizing is one of the main reasons that primers get tipped or off-center. Using a little alcohol+lanolin lube on pistol cases reduces the shock of sizing. Even with carbide, there can be some binding.

I watched countless videos on the Loadmast. After this video, which is awesome, I went for it. Started setting up trying to follow your tips. Unfortunately my luck was not like your. It won't index. Tried adjusting the carrier alignment and tried the flipper adjustments for literally a couple hours going back and forth between the two. Best I could get was indexing 2-3 times then locking up solid. Anyone want to buy an unused press?

I haven't used my Loadmaster very much, so when I pulled it out of storage to load 357 mag I decided to watch your video again. I followed your suggestions/procedures to the tee. What a great video. I love your calm demeanor. So I loaded over 300 with hardly a hitch. I have learned to watch very closely that I still have primers in the feeder, that the decapper pin hasn't been pushed up indicating a shell has gotten through with the primer still in place, and that the incoming shell is right side up. I did not have one, not one, primer issue! The only thing I didn't follow you on was lubricating the shells. I don't lube 9mm, but I find lubing the 357 to be very helpful. I just spray a little lube into a large freezer baggy, add the shells, and then roll them around. Takes less than 3 minutes. Thank you very much for your video.

Never lube cases with carbide dies. Carbide requires no lube, and will build up a mess under the carbide ring and transfer it to the shell plate. Non carbide dies always must be lubed.

Outstanding tutorial. I thought I heard 7/16" when you were explaining using the pencil as a gauge. Perhaps you meant 5/16" ? Now to watch Part 2 😊

Thanks you! 1 hour invested and my press is running well again. I didn't know about lubrication of most of the areas that you pointed out. I always thought grease and oil were the enemy.

These machines require a balance of lubrication to keep them running, but without attracting fouling and powder. It's generally good to clean it up and lube every so often as need dictates. Experience will guide you.

You mention that you've been using the press for a long while, a cleaning tutorial would be awesome ^_^
