7:23 Capcom, it's been way too hard to make a tier list for this game, everyone is so close together. Could you please buff the high tiers and nerf the low tiers? Thank you.
As someone who got into fighting games with Strive and SF6, and who doesn't have any interest in branching out into older games yet, a part of me feels legitimately disappointed that there aren't any outright bad characters anymore. I never got to experience shit like Eleven
@@budgetcommander4849 you mean Tweleve (Twelve) yeah? Eleven was the random select free dlc character from sfv Also fightcade is an option, you can still play these older fighting games, although I get that you mean being around at the time when the fg was relevant/recent. Although it’s important to note that fighting game metas developed a lot slower back then than they did now, we wouldn’t necessarily know the absolute top tiers or low tiers. Taking 3s as an example, both Yun Genei-jin and Urien (phone autocorrected to “autism” there) Aegis Reflector were relatively late developments to 3s’s meta, as in at minimum 6 years after the game launched… for the US. Iirc Japan had Urien sa3 stuff known earlier and I’m definitely going to misremember some timeframes since my memory’s shite but point is that fighting games progressed slowly (Sajam has an old vid on this actually). The reason I mention this fact is if you were around for those old games, you wouldn’t really know the whole deal about every character. It’d be more likely you had a local guy who had a mean ass Yang or Ibuki than you knowing the absolute top 2 (sa2 Chun and sa3 Yang) with the absolute bottom 2 (sa2 Sean and sa3 Tweleve, using their worst supers here for reference, you wouldn’t actually use these). Even then 3s actually has a pretty even roster in some aspects with characters like Hugo and Q still being threatening (ironically they’re both grapplers) and even Tweleve and Sean aren’t unplayable (there’s like at least one top JP Tweleve and Sean is mostly cripplingly outclassed but he’s still. A shoto. Just a shite one). If you want a real true bottom tier look at Vampire Savior’s Anakaris. Bro can’t even pushblock in a game where pushblock is _really_ important and his guard cancel is punishable on hit so the overall nothing character just loses if you interact with him at all. I really wanted to main Ed ever since his lore relationship to M.Bison and Balrog. I was so excited at the concept at a Psycho Powered Boxer moving into SFV (so much that I wrote out a hypothetical move list where his specials were a turn punch that was like psycho crusher) Then SFV happened and he’s like the worst parts of both his lineage, having kickboxer style moves, and his’s weird young commander look. But his simple inputs is what made me drop him. I need motions man, and SF6 FIXED IT ALL! Let’s Go!!!
Even outside of his awful V design, Ed’s moveset was kind of lackluster in presentation and was more of a half hearted attempt in making a psycho power boxer that sort of missed the mark in what it’s trying to do. His 6 moveset suits him much more, is distinct instead of generic, and his moves are more cohesive to the theme he’s going for.

We need to nerf Manon. We feel her anti-air game is too strong thus being able to keep rush down characters out too easily. Additionally, we will be removing all forms of invulnerability from her Renverse to make it easier for projectile characters to properly punish this oppressive move. We also took away her parry to bring her in line with the strength of the rest of the cast.
I do agree that it's a little nutty that he's keeping the same imagery of the organization that he's fighting against. I know he's the leader of "Neo Shadoloo" (not exactly helping the comparison) but you'd think he'd be against waving his enemy's flag all the time. I'm probably going to be a Costume 2 boy if I play him.
In the story, Ed is an experimental vessel for M.Bison, the former dictator of an organization called Shadaloo. Shadaloo is intentionally given some parallels to Nazi iconography, as Street Fighter is a series built on un-subtlety and Bison was meant to be a clear-cut villain (even though he's from an unspecified nation). Ed was abducted young and brought into this organization as a prisoner to inject him with Bison's unique Psycho Power. Ed, however, wants nothing to do with Bison or the goals of Shadaloo, and instead uses its iconography as a mockery via his new organization, "Neo Shadaloo". As opposed to a terrorist cell with world conquest aims, Ed's organization seeks to do good and rescue victims of Shadaloo's exploits. He's reclaiming the old colors/symbols and trying to remove Shadaloo's legacy on the world.
M. Bison, being a 90s villain, definitely takes inspiration from Nazi iconography in the same way the Empire in Star Wars did, and I'm sure other popular media I can't recall right away. Shadaloo's logo is the skull with wings. Ed forms Neo Shadaloo in direct opposition to Shadaloo, and doesn't wear the same logo; his is a modified version and looks like a full eagle (owl?
