I liked the Malibu edition when I first saw it, but now I want one! With the seat, they had to decide between looks and comfort, but I'm sure Saul's Upholstery can make it feel better and still look good. Brake noise is from either the rotors having skin oil on them from assembly, or the pads were not "bedded". Easy to fix (clean the rotors and bed the pads), and not a big deal. Thanks for the video!
Finally, an RSD video…I’ve been searching TH-cam about this bike since it was released to get some ideal mods and all I found is a bunch of advertisement and unboxing. Thank you for posting this, I am a new ebike rider/owner and got my RSD last month and the first thing I’ve done to it is add a “Golden Peg” and I can definitely agree that it brings a cool look factor into it. People who had seen me riding mine always mistaken the RSD for a mini dirt bike given it’s looks, but it’s definitely stands out on the street during neighborhood rides. You’re also right about the moto seats as well being sub par for its comfort but it’s manageable imo, I thought about the mirrors as well but I install a rear view camera for now influenced from your S2 video you posted but if you do find any other mod ideas for them please do post them. New subs here for sure and will be on the look out for more RSD feeds you can provide, thanks again peace and be safe!
I'm always changing my handlebars and MTB STEM and handlebar grips to mach, you should do that instead of painting The whole bike and I bought a higher stem and added wide sur ron handlebars it looks great on my super73 lookalike trus me Pete 😉
Modifying a ecotric i put a front motor so I have front an rear wheel motors, 2 batteries an throttles two controllers an a 7speed freewheel for pedaling when i just want exercise or to ride with cycling groups who just explore, now im debating on my second commuter ebike.
I would get the Malibu edition, the upgrades seem to be worth the extra cost plus it looks bad ass. I was also considering a color change on my bike, a copper color. I'm thinking powdercoat is way more durable than paint. Powdercoat is electro static so not sure if you can coat aluminum with it.
For the price I would definitely buy a Surron but like you said it isn’t street legal depending on where you ride the super73 might keep you out of court lol.🤣

How much would you say the rear suspension improved things? I take it you mostly ride in urban area's, at least that's what I've noticed from your videos. I'm trying to decide between the RX(the Mojave, not the Malibu) and S2 but I would probably would be doing some trails where I live. But I'm having a hard time justifying the $700 more that the RX costs.
I totally get it. 700 for a soft tail is crazy expensive. But think about it this way: it’s an investment in your comfort, specially if you are going off road a lot. If you really don’t care much about the suspension and rather stand on your pedals for potholes, get the s2.
Thats so cool bro, you need one asap! The Magura setup is the same as the 1st Gen EU RX editons as well, really strong brakes. If this had the 10 speed it would be perfect bike, sick ride and nice sunny shots. Thanks Peter!

Why not find an automotive painter? I'm sure they'll charge you less than 500 for painting your bike. An offer up guy quoted me 180 to paint my front bumper.

The low bars are very wide but if you take them off, it’s Four inches on the base / 7 inches at the widest

Should be a hole on each side of the frame towards the back of the bike.
