Hi dan, good to see you on fish again, can I give you a tip, hook your deads the other way round, so when you reel in pike can still have a go as it looks like a swimming fish, it has worked well, also use some fine sea fishing elastic so you don't loose the dead, also get rid of the long lead line, try popping your deads up in weed mate 👍
Also I've noticed you strike as soon as the float has some action and the float stops and there is nothing there, the pike will hit the bait and then drop it, give it a minute and the pike will take it again

I went Saturday, -6 🥶shock to the system, blue skies & no wind, glorious day, but no pike, roll on for the next trip. But today we've got snow down south 🌨 Apart from squashing the mince pie, still looked a bit on the thin side, 2 would have been required to fulfill the taste buds.
Gutted to snap the rod looks like it'll have to be a new one. Yeah no snow up here but -5 this morning and luckily I got 2 out today. So should be a video up soon. Greggs was a little disappointing but no such thing as a bad mince pie. Thanks for watching mate

Thanks Barry. Yeah the reason for the strong tackle is 3-4oz lead and a deadbait weighing around the same is hard to cast on anything lighter. Besides a big pike can fight really hard in weedy pits. Still approve of the B1 lancer pic though
