New Hampshire ✔️ so many good people who helped you along the way! Especially Patrice! Thank you for taking care of 5 stack. Welcome to Maine! Finally. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 You are doing great and in the home stretch! Congratulations stay safe & hike on!! 🥾🇺🇸😊🏕️🧗♀️🙏
🚶👟👟⛺🌞 congratulations on making it to Maine you're doing so great out there you will be touching that sign before you know it stay safe and happy hiking 💯💪🏆🏆🏆🏆
Sweet that Patrice is planing a visit. So good to see you feeling better and throwing in some humor on trail. 2 weeks. Wow, you are going to be done soon!
Glad you are on the home stretch and what an impressive pace you've maintained through all that tough NH terrain. I will sure miss your daily posts. Would love to hear a return to some of the geological insights.
sure glad to see you post a video! I was starting to get worried it’s been five or six days!! congratulations on arriving in Maine. You are doing awesome. I love your videos and your sense of humor.!❤❤❤❤❤
That Maine boarder is a real wake up call for NOBO thru hikers. All I could think was, "OMG--I'm going to finish. Then what do I do?!" It was hard to imagine that hiking on the AT was soon not going to be may way of life. Enjoy Maine for all it has to offer which is a lot and congratulations!
Congratulations on making it all the way to Maine. Been following from the start. Appreciate you taking us all along with you. Best wishes the rest of the way to Mt. K.
We have a lot of hiking list in New Hampshire. Mount Success is on a list called 52 WAV (with a view). A lot of us save Mount Success as the 52nd peak simply because of the name.😁 Enjoy Maine…the second best state🤣
Welcome to Maine! Congrats on reaching your last State! Your crossing of the Kennebec will bring you real close to my neck of the woods. You've done Awesome!
Curious if you've found the experience to be a little solitary ... you've had little to no companions along the entire route. Was that what you wanted/needed out of your hike?
It has been very solitary for sure by measure of meeting & traveling with other hikers. I thought there would be somewhat more chances to meet hikers going my durection & pace etc. I do meet people & talk & even hike together for a time. I have so enjoyed all the trail angels I have been able to spend time with.
As someone who grew up backpacking the Whites it’s great to hear how truly hard it is. For many decades it’s all I knew of. You mentioned wanting to maybe try the Long Trail sometime in the fall. That is a beautiful trail too. It’s also similar to the Whites in many places. It’s much more difficult after the LT and AT separate. It’s also very beautiful. You’re doing awesome. Take care
Watch yourself around mile 2040 area. There is a very aggressive hawk protecting the area. Zeb was heading through the area when he got a call from Sparks who he has been hiking with and she said a hawk was dive bombing her.Sure enough when Zeb went through out of no where he was attacked by this hawk. He ran for what he was worth, but with in seconds the hawk swooped in and hit him in the back of the head stealing his hat and leaving him with a pretty good bloody gash on the top of his head. There was a hostel shortly after where they cleaned his wound. It was there he learned he wasn’t the only one to be attacked, apparently they have been having similar experiences in that area. They call it a Goshawk. It’s in the Falcon family. Just thought I would give you a heads up.
Hi 5stack, I've not see you fording many (if any) rivers in the Northeast. This has surprised me since following other thru hikers in years gone by this seems to be have been common. Curious if you've just been lucky and not needed to cross any heavy rivers or you just didn't film that?
Power plant is the same architecture as my elementary school which was built in the 1920s. You're doing well and your sense of humor is still working. Glad that you have the Aquatabs. Congrats on 13 states down. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
The last bit, both the hilarious bad and the heart-warming good, was clearly a worthy riposte to New Hampshire. Looks like NH got your pole and your filter (appears to have kept the filter) but you got to the state line for the “W”.
5 Stack you are getting close and that upsets me. I’m realizing that your journey is coming to a close and I’m just being selfish that’s all. Please forgive me. You are a little younger than me but I’m totally impressed with your mileage and durability! You are very a strong person both mentally and physically. You have yet to succumb to any kind of mental duress and that tells me that you have your shit together in so many ways. Hey what happened to geology lessons? 😂. Last year I climbed Katahdin but not using the AT trail. I also climbed the Knife Edge! Now there’s a challenge for sure. I think it would be a great way to end your journey! No don’t try it. The last two peaks were the scariest I’ve ever taken on. Keep moving onwards young man ! 👍⛰️🥾
Congratulations!

Nice hiking through the Whites! Glad you had such beautiful weather! Favorite hiker of the season. It’s too bad you are so fast!

Thanks for the video and information. When I come through there next year, I'll look for your water filter and bring some white paint.

Great video of your hiking day! Maine!!! Is there more than one way to abbreviate Maine? Or is it just me.🙂
Good hearing from you. Yesterday June 1st, Katahdin opened so you are clear all the way. Be safe. Hike smart.
Congratulations on your last state!😊 Bacon Wrap 🥓
You are really making miles. 😊 great people along your way. I'm so happy for you

16 is enough. Time to relax and really enjoy your last days. It will be over before you know it.

Nice video. Thanks for sharing. 👍56
Well done, 5 Stack! You are on the home stretch. ~StormDasher
Welcome to Maine- the way life should be

I have been lucky fir sure with rivers...rock hopping nearly all so far. It is hard to film that.
That was funny 😄.

Great job over 13 states down and one to go, good video with some good views, so let's keep on hiking, less than 280 miles to go 😊

Thanks. I have slacked off on the geology. The Whites were so mentally taxing that I could hardly focus on anything but hiking.
Check your email. I might be able to help you with your filter situation depending on where you’re at.
