One of the absolute greatest films of all time! If you guys ever do start to do a natural disaster/space disaster theme of films to react to, I'd strongly suggest these films: The Core, Geostorm, Deep Impact, Sunshine, Twister, 2012, The Impossible, and Dante's Peak.

I still love this movie. I remember for a couple of months before the movie opened, in the theatre there was a standie poster that had a countdown clock like the countdown in the movie itself. It was so much fun watching it in theatre for the first time. Had to remind myself to breathe several times. (Yes, the stress.) And then, I remember the theatre was really cold and I had my arms pulled into my t-shirt. But then I was crying at the end (the AJ and Harry goodbye moment) and I had my hands sticking up through the neck hole of my shirt, trying to wipe my face. 😂

Fun fact: In the scene where the shuttles are being launched Michael Bay filmed a real launching from Cape Canaveral. H set remote automatic cameras and filmed it. However when there is a launch nobody is allowed to enter the area since there are poisonous gases left from the launch. They have to wait at least 24 hours for the gasses to clear. But Michael Bay was eager to get the footage so he sent his crew to collect the cameras at the earliest allowed time. Result: His crew got poisoned from gasses and they were nauseated and vomiting for a week after that.
My favorite trivia about this is Ben Affleck (who ALREADY HAD a Screenwriting OSCAR) had questions and suggestions during the filming of this after reading the script and Michael Bay wasn't having it. Fast forward 14 years and Ben Affleck's Argo won Best Picture and he won a bunch of Directors' Awards. So he gets to rub both of those in Bay's face.
Fantastic movie but with some really good emotional scenes like Harry and AJ's last scene and his goodbye to Grace that always get to me. Wasn't in this video but the plot point where Chick goes to see his son (who doesn't know who he is), only for his ex to tell him during the launch scene and then the two of them showing up at the end.. Damn!
Hey guys. The reason that he had a gun, was that he had been briefed in private alongside the other pilots that if there’s a problem that they need to go to ‘secondary protocol’. That secondary protocol was to arm the bomb drop it on the surface and takeoff and the gun was to ensure that no one interferes with that particular order. Especially if the president had given that order which he did in short, the gun was to ensure that the presidential orders were to be carried out. However, Harry was able to influence the pilot and convince him that he can hit his target depth which insures that they are able to manually override the detonator while still allowing the bomb to be able to detonate it later. Even then it was a near run thing.
My only real issue with this otherwise wonderful movie - if A.J was the only one in Grace's age bracket, meaning 'he's not a choice, he's a lack of options (8:56),' how is Oscar 'about 5 minutes older than Grace (17:07)?
Of all the "bad science" complaints about this movie the one I think is the funniest is that the rock is the size of Texas, no matter where they are standing on it, digging 800 feet down is barely scratching the surface. There is a DVD commentary track that is just Ben Affleck talking non-stop shit about the movie, it's hilarious. "I went to Michael and I said, 'wouldn't it make more sense for these guys to teach astronauts to drill instead of being taught to go to space' and he said to me, 'Ben, shut the fuck up.'"
As bad as the science is in this movie, I have watched it more times than I can remember. Marshall Teague is the pilot who didn't make it. I had lunch with him about the time this was filmed. Super cool guy. He was the muscle in the original Roadhouse.
Now you need to compare this to the other earth getting hit movie that came out the same year "Deep Impact" Which is a little more serious than this one, but kinda better. Then the most recent movie "Greenland"!
I was reading an article about good story telling one time. One of the things it said was, get your characters into a situation where it seems like things couldn't possibly get worse . . . and them make them worse.
Ben Affleck asked Michael Bay why couldn't they teach the astronauts to drill who was told 'Shut the F Up!' Also love that their Russian friend Lev and their pilot Sharp were at AJ and Grace's wedding.
This is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I watched it so much that my family told me to knock it off for a while because they got tired of it. Since you said, "There are no cowboys in space." I highly recommend "Space Cowboys". It is a Clint Eastwood movie.
I LOVE science , physics , just all of it . This is the MOST scientifically inaccurate movie ... possibly EVER ... I still love it lol . "This is how you fix things on RUSSIAN space station " .. absolutely favorite line lol
Michael Bay's best movie. Legendary cast, good story, good effects, just the right amount of explosions. Billy Bob, Michael Clark Duncan, Ben Affleck, Steve Buscemi, William Fichtner, Liv Tyler, David Keith, Will Patton, Peter Stormare, Owen Wilson, Bruce Willis and Jason Isaacs. Great soundtrack and fine acting all around.
Bruce Willis is just iconic in movies. From this to Fifth Element, Die Hards, Pulp Fiction, 12 Monkeys, The Jackal, Sixth Sense, Lucky Number Slevin, etc. Great supporting cast in this as well. 39:08 Oh and there is a movie called "Space Cowboys" will Clint Eastwood & Tommy Lee Jones.
Please watch The Ref (1994) with Denis Leary. It is such a funny film and Denis Leary is such a funny sarcastic a-hope in it, I am certain the two of you will love it. Another brilliant comedy is the British film ‘Death at a Funeral’ (2007). It’s one of the funniest films I’ve ever seen.

43:26 On top of that, Steve Buscemi's character got a stripper girlfriend and in the movie credits his girlfriend catch the Bridal Bouquet. Eventually getting married real soon!
I have some movie suggestions: Apollo 13 (1995) Glory (1989) Legends of the Fall (1994) Balto (1995) Young Woman and the Sea (2024) The Star Wars Sequel Trilogy (2015-2019) Braveheart (1995) Superbad (2007) Bottoms (2023) Booksmart (2019) The Favorite (2018) Team America World Police (2004) Last of the Mohicans (1992) Poor Things (2023) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003) Gladiator (2000) 1917 (2019)
Okay, you've watched the Cheezy Action Adventure version. Now, you absolutely MUST watch *Deep Impact,* which came out at about the same time, but is IMO the much better of the two "killer asteroid/comet" movies. It focuses much more on the people involved.
In Italy this is the definition of an "americanata" lit. "an american thing" something that incarnate everything good (and bad/excessive) about the United States of America"culture and way of living (and making movies). I love this movie, I first watched it on a outdoor cinema, and during it i saw also a shooting star AND an ISS (Internationa Space Station) transit, I checked the "schedule" once at home and yes it was the ISS.

I’ve worked 9yrs in the oilfield. The scene when the Russian beats the shuttle with a wrench is me every single night in winter. I don’t care if I blow up I just want things to work and go home
“Mainly you. Mainly.. me!” I’ve been subscribed for a minute. Saved myself ever. Damn. Time, L O L. I’ve got another one for you. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003, if you haven’t seen it yet. That’s really shitty on his part…. If he was so eager why didn’t he go himself??
My favorite trivia about this is Ben Affleck (who ALREADY HAD a Screenwriting OSCAR) had questions and suggestions during the filming of this after reading the script and Michael Bay wasn't having it. Fast forward 14 years and Ben Affleck's Argo won Best Picture and he won a bunch of Directors' Awards. So he gets to rub both of those in Bay's face.
The Oscars are rigged and meaningless.
Damn!
TY. i have not seen this movie for over 20 years. your reaction , as always, awesome
Omg yes I've been waiting for you guys to do this movie this is one of my favorite Bruce Willis films
This is one of the greatest movies ever..period.
Now you should watch Deep Impact, came out around the same time, similar prompt.
Armageddon and deep impact get me crying every time
You: Wait! Is this Michael Bay?!
Movie: “It hit with the force of 10.000 nuclear weapons!”
Me: Yes… yes it is 😂
Never heard Curtis shriek like that before, it was kinda magical!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Of all the "bad science" complaints about this movie the one I think is the funniest is that the rock is the size of Texas, no matter where they are standing on it, digging 800 feet down is barely scratching the surface. There is a DVD commentary track that is just Ben Affleck talking non-stop shit about the movie, it's hilarious. "I went to Michael and I said, 'wouldn't it make more sense for these guys to teach astronauts to drill instead of being taught to go to space' and he said to me, 'Ben, shut the fuck up.'"
This is PEAK CINEMA!! One of my favorite movies from childhood to adulthood
Armageddon is to Deep Impact the way Tombstone is to Wyatt Earp
11:47 when he called him Mr. Wizard I found it ironic since in the future that actor plays one in Harry Potter 🤣
Came here to write this!! Lucius 😈
You guys have already seen this movie 3 years ago don't you 😅😅 that video is also existed in your channel
As bad as the science is in this movie, I have watched it more times than I can remember.
Marshall Teague is the pilot who didn't make it. I had lunch with him about the time this was filmed. Super cool guy. He was the muscle in the original Roadhouse.
No plot, no realism, no logic, but TONS of PATHOS .. and US flags in slow motion
This movie is the quintessence of Michael Bay's approach 😆
Now you need to compare this to the other earth getting hit movie that came out the same year "Deep Impact"
Which is a little more serious than this one, but kinda better.
Then the most recent movie "Greenland"!
3:58 Um, Sir....have you seen a Michael Bay film?! 😂😂 jk i love you guys ❤
Thanks for the reaction guys.
Another fun movie i was lucky to have watched in the cinema.
I was reading an article about good story telling one time. One of the things it said was, get your characters into a situation where it seems like things couldn't possibly get worse . . . and them make them worse.
SPACE DEMENTIA
Ben Affleck asked Michael Bay why couldn't they teach the astronauts to drill who was told 'Shut the F Up!'
Also love that their Russian friend Lev and their pilot Sharp were at AJ and Grace's wedding.
They asked Michael Bay what he wantsd the budget for explosions for this movie is he just replied "yes"
This is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I watched it so much that my family told me to knock it off for a while because they got tired of it. Since you said, "There are no cowboys in space." I highly recommend "Space Cowboys". It is a Clint Eastwood movie.
Woot under 5 minutes, never been this early.
I recommend watching the Bruce Willis movie “Disney’s The Kid”.
My Dad really loved that one
You guys cut so much of the best parts but this movie always brings the tears
This channel has very cool reactions. Here are a few movie suggestions.

Saw this in the movie theater as a kid and let me tell you, the freaking radio stations ruined this song because they played it so much. The ending makes me cry every damn time 😢
43:26 On top of that, Steve Buscemi's character got a stripper girlfriend and in the movie credits his girlfriend catch the Bridal Bouquet. Eventually getting married real soon!

“ Deep impact “ is better and will pull on your heart strings. Great reaction my friends!!!!!
Okay, you've watched the Cheezy Action Adventure version. Now, you absolutely MUST watch *Deep Impact,* which came out at about the same time, but is IMO the much better of the two "killer asteroid/comet" movies. It focuses much more on the people involved.
This... this... this 😂❤
It may be more sophisticated, but Armageddon is such a fun mega blockbuster, I’m picking it to watch 80% of the time.
I like how the first astronaut explodes after his face plate is punctured, as if he was made of nitroglycerin.
Great reaction so far. Paused to get some wine. Came back and view count went up by 100... 100 more people beat me to the finish line. 😏 Worth it, cheers! 🍷
That is one hell of a movie you guys picked. Love your videos
An excellent movie.👍👍
Absolute great movie with a perfect amount of 90's cheesyness, like....
"He's got Space Dementia!" rofl
At 34:40... I was pissing myself with laughter hahaha!
I’ve worked 9yrs in the oilfield. The scene when the Russian beats the shuttle with a wrench is me every single night in winter. I don’t care if I blow up I just want things to work and go home
Now just imagine watching this in the theatre on acid. it's the only time I ever did that and it was a total mind trip!
Reptile Godzilla destroyed by the first meteorite hitting New York, the mammal dog survived. Nice little touch.
“Mainly you. Mainly.. me!”
I’ve been subscribed for a minute. Saved myself ever. Damn. Time, L O L. I’ve got another one for you. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003, if you haven’t seen it yet. It’s a horror classic, and changes the game in my perspective. Another one is Dominion 2018. Inspiring and eye opening.
