Another asteroid movie called Deep Impact came out just a few months before Armageddon. It takes the premise a bit more seriously, and doesn't have anywhere near as many crazy Bay-splosions. I think it was one of those cases where a script, treatment, or premise - in this case, it was "giant asteroid threatens Earth" - got shopped around the Hollywood studios. But rather than a studio purchasing it outright, they turned it down and then just hired their own writers to write their own version of it. So you end up with two separate studios producing two movies with suspiciously similar premises at the same time.
Like Independence Day this was a fantastic in the theater popcorn movie. Everyone cheering and crying at the same time together in the theater was such a great experience!
I already know that I'm going to love this Tara and Aaron reaction! 😊 RIP always to Michael Clarke Duncan(who played Bear)!!! You two have recently covered two of my favorite 'disaster movies' with this and "Independence Day". Love it! This movie as such a great cast! And a great soundtrack featuring Aerosmith. Fun Fact: The scene where Harry is reading off the list of demands. The director had the cast make out that list for the scene. That last scene was between Harry and AJ, and that last scene when Harry is saying goodbye to Grace always brings more than a few tears to my eyes whenever I watch this movie. For some more Bruce Willis and Michael Clarke Duncan together I very highly recommend the 2000 comedy movie "The Whole Nine Yards". Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊
As a Swede im offended that you didn't identified Peter Stormare or any of his roles in his massive catalog. Bad boys 2, John Wick 2, Minority report, Fargo, Constantine and The Big Lebowski just to mention a few. He rarely plays lead roles but he has probably been in more hollywood production's than most swedish actors.
Oh Armageddon. The movie that brought us “I don’t want to miss a thing”. An underrated, actor filled, emotional roller coaster that was completely over shadowed by Titanic for its release. The one thing that always bothered me is the fact that it would’ve been wayyy more efficient, quicker, and smarter to train astronauts to drill rather than train drillers how to be astronauts.. but we'll go with rhe Bay reasoning of things.
I know a lot of people don't really like this movie bit it's just one of those movies I remember going to the movies and seeing. I love it. Give a good ol' action movie that doesn't really make sense and I'm a happy girl. I love me some Bruce Willis, it's goofy and the plot doesn't really make sense but I love, throw in some good music and silly characters and I'm good. I also remember there was another one that came out - maybe the same year - Deep Impact and that one was so long and sooo damn booooring but it had a similar premise. So maybe I've always compared to the two but I'll pit this movie on any day of the week.
My father in law was really upset with the ending. Being married to his daughter was amusing.

One of my favourite reactions from the channel EVER. You reacted exactly the way you should, in the right spots, and so happy you enjoyed it so much. I love the movie and I loved this video.

Great reaction I haven't seen this movie in a while but the last time I've seen this movie it made me emotional and tear up and today seeing this movie with you guys is the first time I've seen it set an alarm in I was tearing up every time the emotional scenes came up and even at the end when Bruce Willis sacrifice himself to save everyone and when everyone came home also when Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler was getting married at the end as well keep up the great work guys
45:20 Funny how they wanted to avoid detonating the nuke on the surface by doing just that. In an asteroid hundreds of miles across, a hole 800ft is still the surface regardless. It's like putting a nuke just under the skin of an apple. 😂
When the Perseverance Rover landed on Mars a couple years ago, I was watching the landing and control room footage live. When it landed they all jumped up and cheered and I started crying. I don't know why I started crying, it was both a deep sadness and a warm joy. When the control room celebrates Bruce Willis saving the World in the movie, it reminds me of that moment.
Keep in mind that Jerry Bruckheimer is 80 years old and he looks like he’s 50, thank you Bruckheimer for producing great movies like this and Pirates of the Carribean too, I can’t wait to see what he has for the F1 movie.
the way the 90s and 00s have traumatized millennials with all these movies 😅 independence day, armageddon, deep impact, volcano, twister, final destination… the damn „natural disaster & you could die like this for real“ (no one can prove it, that we are the only living species in this vast expanding universe, so independence day is on this list, deal with it lol) concept really messed me up
Such a great action movie with a lot of heart. Stellar casting & acting by everyone, great plot, fantastic score not to mention the special effects which are still mind-blowing 26 years later. I think it deserves more than the 6.7 it gets on IMDB.
I can't even mention this movie out loud without crying. So good! I love watching you experience some of my favorite movies, it brings so much joy to my heart. So glad I found this channel. Also, Tara is the best!
Aaron asking the real questions during this reaction “So is juice like a universal term?” I was curious of this myself I thought she mainly used it when it came to sexy time scenes. At least that I’d noticed. 😂
Jason Isaacs IS in the OA, but also, he was the bad guy in the Patriot, he's Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter, and so so so much more. The cast for this movie was indeed incredible. I saw it in the movie theatre when It released in 98, I was like 14, and I think that's the year I got the understanding of what It was to go see a "summer blockbuster". I miss Bruce Willis, poor man seems to struggle with dementia or something similar, I hope he can enjoy his retirement a bit, because he gave us many many years of totally awesome entertainment.
Lord I was thinking the same thing. TBS and TNT and USA is where I watched many movies that I didn't catch at the theater and watched multiple times. Lol
This movie is one of my favorites It has it all great casting, great soundtrack, one of the greatest Bruce Willis films ever This emotional journey and Bay's explosive entertainment has everything a blockbuster should have!
I always say that the best Michael Bay was in the 90s, he made great and successful Blockbusters. That's why I recommend other very good ones from his filmography such as: The Rock (my favorite of Bay's), Bad Boys 1 y 2, The Island, 13 Hours and Pain and Gain.
Thank you for this! Armageddon came out the summer before I started high school, and to this day, it remains one of my favorite cinematic experiences. It may not be one of the greatest films ever made, but it remains one of the great summer blockbusters of all time. It was such a joy watching the two of you experience this for the first time! It really took me back! (FYI: Quincy, the scientist that convinces them they can't detonate the nuclear bomb on the surface, is Lucius Malfoy, and the 'bad guy' from The Patriot.)
All those disaster movies of the late 90’s, pre-Y2K premonitions. Armageddon comes along and says “we’re gonna Armageddon the hardest Armageddon anyone can Armageddon”. Even Def Leppard can’t Armageddon It as much as we can. There, Armageddon that! Little did we know all it takes is a CrowdStrike update gone bad to take us all out.
So just to clarify "G's"and "Mach" are not the same thing, they were pulling 11 g's at mach 30. G-force, or g's stands for gravitational force equivalent, in simple terms it's a measurement of the rate of acceleration. A mach is the actual measure of speed, each mach is equal to approximately 750 mph mach 30= 22,500 mph, the speed they were flying during their lunar burn. 11 g's= approximately 11 times the standard gravitational force of earths surface
I am SOOOO happy you reacted to this movie, it's one of my favourite movies ❤ my favourite scene ever in a movie is the "he's not a salesman, that's your daddy" god even got goosebumps as typing this! Rumors say Bruce Willis and Liv Tyler had a thing during movie. Never admitted to, but Demi Moore and him divorced not long after, if I remember correctly
I was in elementary school in the 60s and I think we learned much more about space missions than they teach now. A 24" or so tv would be rolled in the classroom and we'd have other rooms pile in to watch whatever was going on. Even what the Russians were doing (that they shared) would be covered. It was very competitive between the USSR & the USA when it came to space travel. My Dad loved all of this and we would watch anything shown in the evenings. This movie is so good! They manage to perfectly explain the situation and also develop the characters in such a short time. Is it accurate scientifically? No. But who cares? It's an amazing film! Great reaction again, you two! ✌💖😀
Its a nickel with a buffalo on it. The shuttle pilot that crashed was Marshall Teague, another actor in many things, but best known as Patrick Swayze's arch rival (Jimmy) in the original "Roadhouse." Its not nuclear radiation, its the heat and destroyed atmosphere.
Right?! I haven’t even watched the original Saw movies, I’ve just seen the reactions on this channel and I could recognise the actress as the one from Saw.
You know what's funny Michael Bay made a movie called the Island in 2005 Steve Buscemi was in that movie and that same actress was his girlfriend in that movie also 😂
Story time!!: I once drove in a bad snow storm going from Syracuse NY to Brooklyn NY. The storm was so bad that my windshield wipers turned to ice and every gas station had no gas. Me, low on gas, and hope, I had to motivate myself. My motivational mantra was "I will make 800 feet" in order for me to drive through the tundra. Well...I made it. It was a life altering experience.
The only thing I hate about this movie is when Willis bf goes to see his kid before going to space and his ex says he can't come around and tells the kid he's a salesman but then as soon as he saves the world shes like that's your daddy. If he isn't good enough to be around his kid and court cut off his access he's not going to automatically be a great father just coz he saved the world unless she's just a not nice person who used the kid to punish him. I really wish they had either given more history about that situation or not done it at all. It just makes the final scene with her and the kid running over to him pointless as the kid doesn't even know him at that point. Maybe I'm just thinking too much into it but to me that part of the movie angers me but other than that its my fav movie
I believe they got divorced because he was a heavy gambler. If the guy volunteers to go to space and die you a the least should make sure his son knows who he is
@@cinephgeeek ye but it's not a good look for her that she just instantly falls back into his arms once he's a hero, he's still going to have gambling issues to deal with. That's why I wanted a bit more with that storyline so I could be more invested in it. I feel like what we got wasn't enough for his character. Maybe show them having a longer convo that shows deep down they still love eachother or something otherwise to me her feelings aren't genuine. Yes I know it's just a movie but it's so close to being my all time fav movie but that one thing ruins its chances in the end
One of my absolute favorite movie and makes me cry every damn time and ya the fasting in this movie is just out of this world crazy amazing not one person casted wrong
You should definitely consider reacting to The Man With No Name trilogy which includes A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Here are some Spider-Man powers and power scaling. Spider-Man can manipulate the electric field of his body in a similar way to Superman does when he protects someone's from a explosion but in Spider-Man case Peter can't transfer the electric field into his hands and feet which gives him the ability to stick to any surface. Peter does not have organic shooter like the original trilogy because generally Peter creates his own web shooters and web fluid which shows his intelligence while providing more interest to the story beats for when the web shooters run out during mid-battle so Peter has to come up with a new idea instantly. Tony could not replicate the web fluid he could only upgrade the shooter capabilities. Peter's skin is the equivalent of kevlar with a healing ability that would heal near fatal wounds within a day or two. Spider-Man speed is over 100 miles per hour unless he's crawling which is around 200 mph while still not accounting for his reaction speed. Peter spider Sense it's not just a early warning system of immediate danger it gives spider man a omnipresence of everything around him and in some cases gives Peter insight over future events days to weeks in advance. It's just Peter has to be able to recognize the early warning signs and if Peter does not see something or someone as a threat the spider sense will not warn him of danger. In some marvel comic book guide book it shows Peters Grant being around 10 tons which it's not true because in comics and the films he's been shown to lift trucks to something as heavy as a rocketship. So my own estimate of Spider-Man strength base level is 100 tons and if he pushes his limit can go over 200 tons.
First I want to say, that Im always astounded when people havent seen certain movies- This is one, especially for the two watching. However, I love it as well because its a way to be able to truly experience watching the movie for the first time again. I love it. This movie really launched SO many careers, even those who were already semi known, this launched them into A+ status With regards to the shuttle launches... GOD there is nothing like seeing them... I appreciate the new crafts but there is just something that makes me feel a certain way seeing them lift off... CAPTAIN AMERICA REFERENCE WITH AGENT HILL??? My Inner Marvel nerd just SCREAMED Watching this makes me so much more desperately sad about Bruce Willis' condition. Hes such an amazing actor, we are all robbed of what he could have continued to make. Im so glad that we have the filmography we do of his. All in all, Im so happy you all enjoyed. This movie destroyed me at an age that I should have been happy go lucky. Love it~!
The interaction between Harry and Truman in the hanger talking about "the plan" is very interesting to watch. Harry gets loud and "seemingly" aggressive, but Truman stays, calm. He understands that Harry might be a little bit on edge after hearing what's happening and THEN being told that NASA stole his drill designs from the Patent Office AND that the Government he trust doesn't actually have a plan - not really anyway - and lest Harry vent. Harry calms down and then calls him "Sir" at the end showing that he wasn't being disrespectful; just shocked and concerned and expressing himself.
The asteroid doesn't leave radiation folks like mentioned in the "people going into bunkers scene." "Nuclear Winter" simply means winter brought on by a nuclear force event, not by "nuclear" itself. It would be "normal winter" just for a very very very long time. And that is what would kill us off.
Okay but the Ben Affleck commentary on this is hilarious if you want to look it up. Also, the correct quote is even better: "I asked Michael why it was easier to train oil drillers to become astronauts than it was to train astronauts to become oil drillers, and he told me to shut the fuck up, so that was end of that talk." And then he proceeds to completely tear apart the premise of Armageddon. It's one of my favorite pieces of movie trivia.
01:15:00: "This movie gives us so much hope and so much heart" I think is one of the best summaries I've ever heard for this fantastic movie. Also, the score of this movie is just perfection!

Man....i always ugly cry at the scene with AJ and Harry...
Harry! You can't do this to me! It's my job!You go take care of my little girl now. That's your job. I always thought of you as a son. I'd be damn proud to have you marry Grace.
Personally I always liked deep impact more but that's just me
Nothing against the actors in this movie but Deep Impact is a better movie this one is good in some aspects but not as good as Deep Impact
Deep Impact is so emotional and amazing. Similar themes but the delivery is just so different that they’re both amazing
Deep Impact
The Core
Armageddon
Just like White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen both movies about the Whitehouse one was serious one was more of a spectacle
Like Independence Day this was a fantastic in the theater popcorn movie. Everyone cheering and crying at the same time together in the theater was such a great experience!
I already know that I'm going to love this Tara and Aaron reaction! 😊
RIP always to Michael Clarke Duncan(who played Bear)!!!
The Rock and Con Air, NEED to be next!
Con air is sooo good
Oooooohh!! I agree! Con Air is SO SO good.
Oooooohh!! I agree! Con Air is SO SO good.
Truth. I love when Peter turns up in a movie or tv show!
I love Peter in everything he’s in!❤ He’s just such a chameleon people don’t recognize him and he doesn’t get the credit he deserves! Amazing actor!❤
Fun fact: Michael Bay/Jerry B combo also used the ticking bomb diffuse bit in the movie “The Rock” and others also. One of their signatures.
What movie did they watch growing up??? These are like movie staples for me growing up lol. Keep ‘em coming!
Wait... Tara actually cried???
Aww!!!

I fucking love how off the rails Tara can be sometimes. Never change, Tara. You’re amazing
She's got the juice!
@@misshell she’s definitely got the juice!
the funniest scene in this movie in my opinion is willis swinging golf balls to the Greenpeace ship.
I like the fact y’all commented on Chick’s storyline. The scene when he shows up at his kids house and when the mom tells the kid who his dad is always gets me.
If you want to see another great Blockbuester of the time: True Lies, Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Cameron together again. will have a great time.
I love this movie. NASA uses it to this day to make their new people count the number of science and physics errors. :D
"can they survive the trip??"
"Im surprised they survived the tests"
probably one of the best lines in the movie imo
Oh, so we’re crying today
One of the best popcorn movies ever made.
45:20 Funny how they wanted to avoid detonating the nuke on the surface by doing just that. In an asteroid hundreds of miles across, a hole 800ft is still the surface regardless. It's like putting a nuke just under the skin of an apple. 😂
Godammit! Its 3am here in hawaii and i was about to go to sleep. Guess ill have to put the kettle on and watch this real quick.
Tea I hope not coffee 😅
When the Perseverance Rover landed on Mars a couple years ago, I was watching the landing and control room footage live. When it landed they all jumped up and cheered and I started crying. I don't know why I started crying, it was both a deep sadness and a warm joy.
When the control room celebrates Bruce Willis saving the World in the movie, it reminds me of that moment.
How did they afford to pay all these actors. This cast is stacked
Keep in mind that Jerry Bruckheimer is 80 years old and he looks like he’s 50, thank you Bruckheimer for producing great movies like this and Pirates of the Carribean too, I can’t wait to see what he has for the F1 movie.
The f1 trailer looks insane
Agreed one of the king hollywood blockbuster producers of all time

the way the 90s and 00s have traumatized millennials with all these movies 😅 independence day, armageddon, deep impact, volcano, twister, final destination… the damn „natural disaster & you could die like this for real“ (no one can prove it, that we are the only living species in this vast expanding universe, so independence day is on this list, deal with it lol) concept really messed me up
There all awesome
So true. Also hope you don't mind me saying but you're very beautiful
Don’t you dare forget Dauntes Peak! 😱
What's your FAVORITE Movie involving an Asteroid????
deep impact.
I had asteroids once. I needed to avoid spicy food for a week.
Deep Impact
Definitely Deep Impact.
Meteor (1979) staring Sean Connery, it's on TH-cam
Such a great action movie with a lot of heart. Stellar casting & acting by everyone, great plot, fantastic score not to mention the special effects which are still mind-blowing 26 years later. I think it deserves more than the 6.7 it gets on IMDB.
I can't even mention this movie out loud without crying. So good! I love watching you experience some of my favorite movies, it brings so much joy to my heart. So glad I found this channel. Also, Tara is the best!
Aaron asking the real questions during this reaction “So is juice like a universal term?”
I was curious of this myself I thought she mainly used it when it came to sexy time scenes.
Armageddon was the most Michael Bay movie ever
LOL, "Oh, that's her dad singing". They are all her dads band songs.....
Not all. 3 songs. Other songs are by bands like Bon Jovi and Journey.
Tara, how did you manage to avoid this and Independence Day?? Did you not have TBS growing up? ...or am I just old? I'm guessing I'm just old. lol
It creeps up on you doesn't it 😅😂
Lord I was thinking the same thing. TBS and TNT and USA is where I watched many movies that I didn't catch at the theater and watched multiple times. Lol
Or she just never saw it
Con Air next if you haven’t done it yet, I can’t remember 🤔
This movie is one of my favorites
It has it all great casting, great soundtrack, one of the greatest Bruce Willis films ever
This emotional journey and Bay's explosive entertainment has everything a blockbuster should have!
Seeing how much you enjoyed this... you both should do Space Cowboys. If you're looking for heart, it's all over.
Besides "Constantine" The Russian guy actor was the killer in "Fargo" along with Steve Buscemi, also in this movie.
11:08 that’s Lucius Malfoy you guys! From Harry Potter haha
I always say that the best Michael Bay was in the 90s, he made great and successful Blockbusters. That's why I recommend other very good ones from his filmography such as: The Rock (my favorite of Bay's), Bad Boys 1 y 2, The Island, 13 Hours and Pain and Gain.
One of my favourite movies. I just fast forwarded to see your reactions to the ending. Now I’m sat here crying. Fml 😂
The lady you recognized at 14:40 is Amanda from the SAW movies.
Deep impact 1998
A drill like the one used for drilling oil usually has diamond encrusted tips to cut through almost anything
You are all great hosts but Tara and Aaron, I think you two are just amazing, so funny to watch and you make my day on a regular basis as I struggle with health issues right now .. I often have a reel rejects binge day!! Soon as I can I'm gonna deffo join your patreon, thank you so much for the laughs ❤ loads of love from the UK ❤
Do my eyes deceive me, or is this the movie that FINALLY brought a tear to Tara since she’s been back
This is one of my favourite 90's movies of all time! This movie can alwaays break me when I watch it. Such a good movie, so many tear jerkers! Glad you guys loved it!
11:01 "He's In A Really Good Show The OA...." Yeah He's Also Lucius Malfoy In A Movie Series You Might Have Heard Of, Harry Potter?
Rumors say Bruce Willis and Liv Tyler had a thing during movie. Never admitted to, but Demi Moore and him divorced not long after, if I remember correctly
Yea they were smashing on set. 😅
Yikes Bruce likes em young. LOL
I cannot get enough of this team up! Tara and Aaron please watch more movies together!
Tears every time I watch it, it's just one of those movies that hits me like that.
She looks familiar? 🤦♀️ dude that’s freakin Amanda from the saw franchise!! Omg you guys crack me up

Story time!!:
I once drove in a bad snow storm going from Syracuse NY to Brooklyn NY. The storm was so bad that my windshield wipers turned to ice and every gas station had no gas. Me, low on gas, and hope, I had to motivate myself. My motivational mantra was "I will make 800 feet" in order for me to drive through the tundra. Well...I made it. It was a life altering experience.
At one point in human near history it is estimated less than 10,000 humans remained alive after a cataclysmic event....
IIRC Tambora mega volcano
If the guy volunteers to go to space and die you a the least should make sure his son knows who he is
Yeah, I think it was heavily hinted that his gambling problems ruined their marriage, which is definitely a real thing.
God I miss Bruce Willis 😢
Hearing someone call a movie old school that's 9 years younger than you feels so great 😂😂😂
This movie and Logan always make me shed tears over and over again. I love these movies. They have been part of my journey growing up and I am 45 now.
You should definitely consider reacting to The Man With No Name trilogy which includes A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
I don't think they'd make great reactions
I can never watch this movie without crying.
Thank you for mentioning The OA! One of the most original shows I ever watched and years later I am still mad it was cancelled
First I want to say, that Im always astounded when people havent seen certain movies- This is one, especially for the two watching. However, I love it as well because its a way to be able to truly experience watching the movie for the first time again. I love it.
This movie really launched SO many careers, even those who were already semi known, this launched them into A+ status
With regards to the shuttle launches... GOD there is nothing like seeing them... I appreciate the new crafts but there is just something that makes me feel a certain way seeing them lift off...
CAPTAIN AMERICA REFERENCE WITH AGENT HILL??? My Inner Marvel nerd just SCREAMED
Watching this makes me so much more desperately sad about Bruce Willis' condition. Hes such an amazing actor, we are all robbed of what he could have continued to make. Im so glad that we have the filmography we do of his.
All in all, Im so happy you all enjoyed. This movie destroyed me at an age that I should have been happy go lucky. Love it~!
Wow i must be old when a 90s movie is considered old school. I don't think 90's movies are old school to me.
They’re not. They are just sheltered babies

I love this movie so much. Saw it in theaters multiple times. So glad you guys enjoyed it.
I think this has one of my favoritr Jason Issac Moments in all of movie history
Nice love this movie. Definitely watched this a lot in my teen years
01:15:00: "This movie gives us so much hope and so much heart" I think is one of the best summaries I've ever heard for this fantastic movie.
