If Lemons ever had to or chose to run ads, these segments would be the best ads ever, attracting the right kind pof person and sending the wrong kind away. This is one of the best features here.
the idiocy of lemons is what makes it so good. the point isn't to win, it's to be a moron with your buddies and somehow in the mix you get to race a car. it is the best racing series out there, bar none.
Renae, I'm interested in joining a team on the west coast. Past projects have included making an I-4 Hemi powered 73 VW Westy, so yes, I can weld & fabricate. -- David
You dont but lemons try to handicap you based in multiple criteiers including but not limited to How stupid you are to try to make it work. How much effort you put into flogging a dead horse. Safety does not count all the fancy seats, brakes, tires and other mods can be excused. This girl has the spirit of lemons . Anyone can go buy BMW, mx5 or whatever and dominate in their heads. Lemons tries to cater to the idiot who thinks racing a Riley elf with a BMW motorcycle head, a wrx powered Corvair,or even a Porsche 944. is a good idea. As a car guy I highly approve.
the car itself is the 500 dollars. all safety equipment and brakes do not count towards the 500 dollar limit. estimate about 10 grand for a full team setup if you want to go more than one time. tools, transport, etc. some teams do get away with it for much less, some go completely ham and have 4-5 different cars at the race.
@@ghomerhust ok. So you buy a car with a solid drive train…good engine and transmission for $500. You can spend what you need and want on safety, which includes steering, suspension, brakes, tires, wheels, cage, etc. Correct?
Also, parts sold can count as reductions towards the budget cap, i.e. the income officially reduces your bottom line cost. If you buy a German crapcan for $1500 but can sell $1000 of vintage interior parts, the car meets the $500 requirement (numbers are for example purposes only; I don't have any idea what the vintage 944 market looks like).

love the mug shot at the end
Great interview - and agree with many of the points made. Lemons is awesome to race in, don't change anything.

That's Bernard Purdie, an icon in the drumming world known for his shuffle!
@@SouthOfTheSound Dontcha worry 'bout them ghost notes!
A 202 Flathead-6 Hudson, mon ami, would prove to be a MUCH more reliable engine. Also, replacement components are less expensive, too
How does anyone purchase and build a Porsche race car for $500?

LS swap it with baffled pan..
where is the fun in that? Also goodbye class C.
the point isnt really to go fast. and every time people show up to do that, they either blow up or they blow up, or they crash.
my dad is a die hard European. Believe me, I’ve tried to LS swap multiple of our cars in the past it’s just not gonna happen. 😅
