@Degree7 Personally, I cant stand the vast majority of films that come out, especially formulaic and unoriginal bullshit that commonly plagues theaters. But I did find the first Grudge to be well done. It had a few problems, but didnt think it ruined the movie. Personally, the trailer for the Joker didnt impress me much, but it turned out to be a phenomenal film. Movies like Inception, Blade Runner 2049, No Country for Old Men, There will be Blood, Pulp Fiction, Apocalypse Now, True Romance, Big Lebowski, Winters Bone, etc. are more my speed, so horror isnt traditionally my thing, but in fairness to any movie -- although your play on words, alology is clever and funny, it doesn't change the fact that you know next to nothing about a high budget film, it terms of quality, based on a 2 min trailer. With that said, I here ya haha! Edit: I thought you said "you only need to taste the 'soup' (thought you said soap in reference to the shampoo) once to know its rotten. Nevertheless, I get it. The art direction is very beautiful, the storyline isn't great but I wouldn't call it awful, and the cast is filled with incredibly talented actors. Maybe if it was edited in a slow-paced, more tension-filled style (without unnecessary close ups and bangs) with just one or two jumpscares, it would have been better.
Agreed. The movie isn't that bad. All the characters are well-realized with great acting. Also, some memorable gory scenes. However, the editing was way too slow-paced.
I feel like this movie is going to be significantly less scary than the original.
Edit: What a goddamn surprise I was right
Thats for sure...are they our of ideas? Im tired of remaking classic movies and turn them into bad ones..
@@kallias.3503 Maybe so. Also, I feel ya, I'm tired of unnecessary remakes/reboots. They only end up worse than the original.
Like child's play for example.

This was a good movie. I didn’t know how it was gonna play out. I liked how they kept with the spirit of the original with the multiple storylines.
The whole movie is about Kumar playing a huge prank on Harold.

This would be perfect if they kept “Takako Fuji” as Kayako or the ghost. She was the first and the best who portrayed that role. The Grudge 3’s Kayako was awful
That basketball bit though XD
Shes retired

I hate when they reboot everything.. creativity is dead in Hollywood.
You say that but The Grudge was just a remake of a Japanese movie. So creativity was already dead the first time around lol.

Hello, it's Peter Parker.
Great camera work, great editing, great sound effects....what movie magic skills are all about.
The original grudge had a soul. This one looks lifeless.
Now when you say original, do you mean Ju-on 2002? Or 2004's The Grudge? Both that were directed by the same guy.
Wait until the film comes out first
Ahhh, you're one of those people. "Looks lifeless" You watched a 2 min trailer.
Matthew Horizon A trailer is supposed to show what the movie looks like. And the trailer does make the movie look lifeless.
@Degree7
Personally, I cant stand the vast majority of films that come out, especially formulaic and unoriginal bullshit that commonly plagues theaters.
Doesnt take much time or experience to understand its personal appeal. But I'd also contest that we can change in some instances.
