If you increase the mass enough, the galaxy will then look like a circle of particles with a large compact cluster at the center.

Actually the galaxy is not held together by the black hole in the center of the galaxy, it is just a tiny fraction of the milk ways mass. The galaxy mostly orbits around its common center of mass which is mostly due to a large cloud of dark matter which out masses the star and dust in the galaxy 10 to 1
Well, the mass orbiting the black hole is in fact there because of the black hole - also it is quite a lot more massive than the orbiting mass if you consider the density.

5 years late, but the black hole at the center of the galaxy doesn't actually hold the rest of the galaxy in orbit, it's nowhere near strong enough for that, it's Dark Matter. Obviously with us not knowing what dark matter is, there's no easy way to model it in Universe Sandbox, so I presume they just took creative liberty. If Saggitarius A* was destroyed, nothing would happen apart from the multitude of stars directly orbiting it in the core being flung in different directions.

It wouldn’t work that way. When they collide (and in a million years or more, they will actually will), all the stars in the galaxies are most of the time pretty far apart, so little to no collisions would happen.

Well, we live on a planetary scale, the planet lives on a solar scale. and the next solar system over is 4 light years away. nobody in such a tightly bound system as the solar system will have much trouble with the andromeda crashing into the milky way. the chance of a star hitting us is pretty slim, too.
The nearest solar systems are Alpha Centauri and Proxima Centauri. 4.24 light years away, If we used lightspeed, We can get there in 5 years. 4= 4 years and 24= 24 months. Therefore, 12+12=24 and you would get 5 years.
Can you make an edit to the Galaxy Collision simulation so that it will result in Andromeda being approximately 2.5 million lightyears away, therefore creating a proper simulation? Also add an Sun and Earth system 28000 lightyears from Sagittarius A-star to see what the collision would be like from Earth
