    ABOUT: Universe Sandbox 2
    Universe Sandbox ² is a physics-based space simulator that allows you to create, destroy, and interact on an unimaginable scale.
    It merges real-time gravity, climate, collision, and material interactions to reveal the beauty of our universe and the fragility of our planet.
    Universe Sandbox ² includes the desktop version and a VR mode with support for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift+Touch, and Windows Mixed Reality.
    Simulate Gravity
    N-body simulation at almost any speed using Newtonian mechanics. Real science, real physics, no supercomputer required.
    Collide Planets & Stars
    Epic, mind blowing collisions of massive planetary bodies that leave behind molten craters.
    Create Your Own Systems
    Start with a star, then add a planet. Spruce it up with moons, rings, comets, or even a black hole.
    Model Earth's Climate
    Watch sea ice grow and recede with the seasons because of the tilt of the Earth: change the tilt and change the seasons. Or move the Earth farther from the Sun and freeze the entire planet. Learn more...
    Supernova a Star
    Make a star evolve by cranking up its age or mass, then watch a supernova unfold.
    Explore Historical Events
    Ride along with the Juno and New Horizons spacecraft, or view a total solar eclipse.
    Throw Planets in VR
    Just grab and fling.
    And more...
    Material System - build planets out of Hydrogen, Iron, Rock, & Water
    Stellar flares & volatile trails
    Procedurally generated planets, stars, & galaxies
    Pulsars
    Light-warping black holes
    Original soundtrack by Macoubre
    Support for 20+ languages
    Share & explore simulations on Steam Workshop

      Weather forecast struggles to predict if it will rain in the afternoon but scientists predicted that our solar system will be in a safe pocket during the merge of the two galaxies, should Humans still be alive on Earth they will be fine. I don't believe that a single second, but I will never know wether this is right or wrong lol...

    • @milhousevanhoutan9235
      @milhousevanhoutan9235 5 ปีที่แล้ว +134

      @@LilGamingYes weather phenomena are governed by far more forces than galaxies. It's basically just gravity in space sure there's more forces but their impact is so small that gravity overpowers all of them, kinda like a fart in a windstorm. Here on earth there's temperature and pressure differentials coriolis effect, jet stream etc. A couple of degrees change in temperature in the pacific ocean can cause massive swings in weather on the other side of the planet (see El Nino and La Nina).
      This means galaxies are easy to simulate into the far future but weather is hard to do even just a few days in advance.

      @godsplayingfield 5 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      @@LilGamingYes during the merger, we'll be fine apparently. as for the catastrophic "super black hole nova" (which is some weird black hole explosion that i dont think actually makes physical sense) that will result from the two galaxy cores smashing into eachother.... i aint too sure bout that one.

    Apparently it’s not the central supermassive black holes that hold galaxies together, it’s dark matter. (Dark matter may be mini black holes though.)
    Sagittarius A, the supermassive black hole at the centre of the Milky Way, takes up less than 0.001% of the mass of the galaxy. Meaning the Milky Way is not a huge orbit of Sagittarius A.
    So removing the supermassive black hole at the centre would not throw everything out into space, theoretically speaking.
    But perhaps dark matter is not factored into the game… which makes sense, seeing as we don’t understand it.

    Fun fact, if the black hole at the center of our galaxy disappeared it would take centuries or maybe even thousands of years for anything to happen to the edge of the galaxy, as all information is limited to the speed of light.
    Also, it may not ruin the galaxy since dark matter or energy is why truly holds it together.

    The andromeda galaxy is already on a crash course with the milky way, but it is so far away that human kind will be extinct far before this happens. However the distance between the stars in each galaxy is so immense that nothing will actually collide, they will sort of just pass each other by. The original kinetic energies of the two galaxies flying through space time prior to the collision are great enough that the gravitational fields of the two supermassive black holes at the center of the galaxies will not be strong enough to form a binary orbit with one another. Also, how did you get a galaxy (comprised of matter) to travel at the speed of light?

    I think our solar system would be fine without a black hole in the milky way
    Also, when andromeda and milky way do collide, it probably won't cause any damage to earth
    because of how far away everything is
    It's like throwing a needle into an already moving needle from a mile away.
    Even with all the gravitational force, it'll all probably just miss...
    Sorry for ruining your dreams!
    Also it wont happen for any time soon so don't worry about it cause we'll all be dead.
    ( I think )

      Yeah as long as our sun doesn't explode into a supernova or everything gets sucked into the new black hole that might end the entire space (sorry i don't know how to word it better) yeah your completely right

    Correction. Galaxies do actually move fast, it’s just the space between them is ABSOLUTELY INSANE

    • @kaiser_nit0157
      @kaiser_nit0157 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thats relative, galaxies move fast for us humans, but not fast for universe scales, even light speed is slow compared to the universe, the milky way galaxy is also pretty slow
