I know this is a late reply, but I'm trying to teach myself the Japanese lyrics right now. I'm listening to the original recording so I can get the syllables right line by line. I try to get the syllables right for the line that I see on the screen first, and then move on to the next line once I can sing it perfectly without looking at my screen. It can take a lot of memorizing and a lot of practice, but it's worth it. It took me a few weeks to learn Rolling Star by Yui, but I got the hang of it after a lot of practice, eventually. It may sound like a whole lot, but practice makes perfect! Once you get the hang of it (which may take you a few weeks, months, even), you might be able to sing the entire thing without looking at the lyrics! Look up the Romaji lyrics on Google, and give it a try! ;)
