Purchased this for our shop. I am a bit disappointed that they don't show it using a LIVE dog. It doesn't work that well on very aggressive pets. After about 30 days we had a dog actually break the clip and he wanted to charge me another $300 to replace it. I suggest showing it with an actual dog live grooming setting. Would be much more realistic.

This is exactly what we need for our Lhasa. We are at our wits end and I am so thankful to have caught this very helpful instructional video. I will be putting my order in ASAP! Thank you so much

i think you should make the rope so it’s a cable instead of a fabric because i have had so many dogs chew through the groomer helper rope.

For dogs that don't want to stay on the grooming table how about just scooting your table against a wall ... Remember to never leave your dog unattended...

I hate these damn things so much. We have one at my job and today the pug I was working on actually got her head out of the collar somehow and jumped off the table IN FRONT OF his owner who was watching my clip his nails. It didn't help at all cuz she kept talking to the dog all excited and in a baby voice so that just riled her up more. I just started out as a dog bather and I've only been doing this for a week now and this is the first dog I had get loose. Im not sure why because I had the collar around her neck pretty tight but she somehow was able to get out of it -__- ugh. lucky she didn't seem hurt or anything and luck me the Owner didn't freak out. she prolly fell about 4 feet on landed on her feet and not her head thank god

We are required to use this at work and we kind of hate but just get told we aren't using it right. I don't think its Rockey science to use. HOWEVER, our tables aren't made for us to be able to attach the arm to the front of the table, its to thick. There for the arm is at the side. This does not restrain the dog, we still fight every dog and they do fall off the table from struggling. They also get their heads caught in the tether. It would also be nice if you used real dogs who are aggressive or scared. You would see its not this simple. By the time you get the loop around their neck they are already spun around or have jumped.

Just curious as to why there isn't a break away on the loop. The back end can still fall off of the table...

I pushed my dog back and he can’t get off the back. She is a 8 mo Great Pyrenees so not small dog. Usually if a dog steps off anywhere they do. It like it and step right back on.

You’re kidding, right? Better to use calming techniques, than this implement of torture. This should be a day at the spa for the dog..oh, I forgot, get ‘em in, and get ‘em out.

Been grooming dogs for over 30 years would not use this. If your groomer needs this find a new groomer.Your dog will thank you

…your salon is also probably one of the ones I called that refused my dog…he was a rescue, very abused Havenese, he will bite the groomer, in fact he has, most groomers don’t even want to muzzle! So what am I supposed to do? I groom him with one of these. He’s held still, he’s safe. He’s not hurt in any way and when I’m done he’s a happy, jumpy., licking all over me little camper! Don’t make people feel bad for needing to go the extra mile for certain animals. I love my dog, without this setup, I’d be paying to have him put to sleep to be groomed.

Interesting. How do you deal with biters and spinners? Do you have an assistant physically restrain them or do you just refuse them outright?

Unbelievable! No regard whatsoever to appropriate handling and restraint of nervous or aggressive dogs - just truss them up - what about animal welfare considerations are they not worth a mention? These are banned from use in our salon and teaching center.

I agree. I have only been a dog bather for a week now out of training at Petco and I HATE these things. they seem to really hurt the dog when the collar part is pulled up so tight on their neck. I have seen groomer just let the dog flail around and then they tell me to go ahead and let the dog back off the table so that they can learn not to back up and realize they will wall off if they do but that seems like it could possible snap their neck if they let that happen. today I had a dog manage to get out of it and the way my body was position didn't allow for me to be able to catch her before she leaped off the table and fell 4 feet onto the hard linoleum floor. I was so upset and im surprised the owner did not scream at me. the owner was standing there watching me do her nails and that of course just riled the dog up more because she kept taking to the dog and that made the dog wanna get off the table even more.
